Omg, unless you want to have to explain what prostitutes are, never take your children to this location. And if you’d like to eat your meal without completely bare private areas(yes, that’s what I mean) on display, then for god’s sake don’t eat on the patio. Since our offices where recently relocated to Stafford, this location is the closest Pappas BBQ, which we know from the downtown location. As we were unfamiliar with neighborhood and chose to enjoy the beautiful day eating on the patio, we were shocked to see not one but two young women wearing shirts with NO underwear parading back and forth in front of the restaurant(Did you catch that, I didn’t say pants because they weren’t wearing any). There was also what appeared to be maybe a pimp that was riding by on a hover board lifting their shirts as he passed by, I guess to show the passers by «the goods.»(Front, back and yes I said NO underwear) Not only SHOCKING but sad and disgusting all at the same time!!! Now, there were also other girls in varying levels of being«dressed for public,» on display and while they were sad to see they really put us off eating. It was not a pretty sight at all, while you’re trying to enjoy a beautiful day and lunch out on a patio. So, let’s just say our lunch turned into a snack and we packed up and came back to the office. I have to say that while I realize that the restaurant can’t control what happens outside their door maybe they should consider moving the restaurant to a less exposed location or consider closing in the patio like the Little Pappasitos on Richmond did. It still has the open air feel of a patio but you don’t see/hear the major road that’s just 6 ft away. Stay away if you’re more of a family dinning type person! Or go to the location further down 59 by Carmax. The food was great! PS I just noticed that the Unilocal app informed me that I «wrote the pants off» this review… HaHa if they only knew!!!

It’s the sauce that makes the deal for me in a BBQ place and theirs is just so so.

Pappa’s BBQ has always been our family’s go-to when feasting for the holidays or grabbing a quick dinner to bring home. Their BBQ is enough to satisfy your hunger and craving! Granted it’s not out-of-this-world caliber BBQ like Killen’s, but it’s your average neighborhood BBQ joint just a hop and a skip away. The brisket was very moist and still retained some juices too. I almost didn’t need any BBQ sauce because their brisket game was on point! The smoked sausage was sliced up nicely and ok in taste. Our family favorite was the BBQ chicken– moist, juicy, and well-seasoned, with a smoky flavor. Pickled condiments, spicy rice and mac-n-cheese were all nothing out of the ordinary, but the yams were a sweet, tasty surprise! I’ll be sure to try the ribs in the future since we already had so much food this time around. Thank you Pappa’s BBQ for always keeping our family’s tummies happy and full! We have yet to be disappointed from at least a dozen past visits. We’ll continue to return and get taken care of by your friendly staff!

Wow, was this some really bad food. Since when does a full slab of baby back ribs only have 8 bones? To top it off, the bbq sauce was grainy and horribly complimented the meat. Speaking of the meat, not much of it on the bone and it had a chemical(nitrate) taste. Thought they were using liquid smoke… Can’t say the service or atmosphere added anything to the experience either. I might have been better off with a McRib sandwich from down the road…

Food poisoning! Do not eat here! Cole slaw, brisket, turkey, Pickle bar, not sure what it was but I definitely did not do well after eating here. I used to think Pappa chains were way higher caliber, no matter what location, now I will never eat out of a Pappas restaurant again.

I’m updating my original review because someone from corporate reached out to me and sent me a gift card to come back and give them another shot. I honestly should have reached out to them before posting the 1 star review in order for them to have the chance to make my experience better. We live and we learn, that’s what life’s all about right? This time I dined in since I had some time to spare, I was greeted immediately and shown the lunch specials. I ordered the same thing as my last visit, a baked potato with no meat. Guess what I received, exactly what I ordered this time! My baked potato was delicious and I should have asked for a little more butter. I also tried one of the cookies and it was a little on the dry side, so I’m not a fan of the cookies. I can’t wait for the pecan pies to go on sale for the holidays.

This is one of my favorite places, been coming here for years. It’s one of my go-to’s when I come home to Houston. Especially love their breakfast burritos, ive tried them all and love them all!

Never had a bad experience and I’ve been coming here for years and years, for lunch, dinner, and breakfast tacos on the weekends. The breakfast tacos are really good, and the drive thru is opened early during the weekdays making it very convenient. You also get salsa! The BBQ is great here, never had a bad piece of anything. Bonus: Their Beef Ribs are amazing!

If you’re looking for BBQ done right then this is the place! I don’t eat pork so the fact that they have beef ribs that fall off the bone is a major plus! The staff is friendly as well, on my first visit one of the cashiers jokingly told me they were out of chicken. Ha we shared a good laugh. They even have a side bar for extra condiments. To top it off they have beer too! Trust me this BBQ place is top notch! They have plenty of space so bring the group for a good taste of Texas BBQ.

Love this place. I get breakfast tacos here for coworkers before work and they always get my order correct. It’s ALWAYS clean which is a big deal to me. The staff always has the best manners(thank you ma’am/sir and a smile.) really good for lunch because the service is quick.

This has got to be the worst place to eat. The service was super slow in the drive thru and then the stupid people that work there put sour cream and chives in my baked potato when I told them not to. The price for the food is too high too. Don’t waste your time coming here.

Didn’t actually dine here but my dad ordered a deep fried-smoked turkey for Thanksgiving from here! The turkey was delicious and my whole family loved it. I would rate this place with 5 stars but a star got knocked off because they either forgot my dad’s order or could not find the order in the paperwork when we came to pick up the turkey. Instead they gave us someone else’s turkey when we got there.

Great brisket! My boyfriend got a plate of mixes meats. It was very good but not the best sausage. I got the baked potato with brisket. Excellent! Great place for diner. Good family environment.

The jumbo brisket(¾ pound) came with two very large sides and a total price after tax of 16 dollars. That made it a great paleo option for two people sharing. The brisket was extremely tasty and filled with flavor. Without going paleo, you’d also get two big pieces of white bread and BBQ sauce. I really like this location. The pappas family did a great job of creating an old fashioned but nice BBQ joint with comfy chairs and tv screens all over. Even if you don’t like chains, this is an exception to the rule.

Really!!! I didn’t mind the $ 10.00 for the VERY generous sized salad. But then you ask for an extra salad dressing and, BAM!!! That’ll be .50¢ EXTRA!!! That’s ridiculous. Look at all the extra freebie’s on the bar they offer,(and thank you Pappas for these items), onions, green onions, pico de gallo, pickles, jalapenos, and even not so inexpensive sour cream,). So after offering all that, where does the reasoning come in to charge extra for a SML serving of salad dressing? Doesn’t make good since to me.

Boy have the prices gone up again or what. I already knew they were a little high to begin with, but $ 7 for basic hamburger now and $ 10 for a brisket stuffed baked potato? Hell no, I’d definitely go elsewhere for the potato. So many other places that are better and less expensive.

The Holiday A-la-carte and catering items were great! Lazy and frankly not good at cooking, I ordered from here a whole turkey, 4-lb ham, green bean casserole, yam, and gravy for the family’s Thanksgiving Feast, and everyone loved the foods! First of all, the roast turkey was juicy and flavorful, and even the leftover did not dry out in the fridge and remained moist and yummy for a couple of days afterward. With the gravy, Man oh Man! What a Heaven! The ham was pretty good as well; well-cured and smoked on the outside, it stayed soft and moist inside. On the sides, green bean casserole honestly did not look very good because it had lost some of the fresh greenish colors during the reheating process but it tasted okay and portion size(2 lbs) was huge! $ 10.95 well paid. The yam was sweet and delicious even though some bigger chunks were a little under-cooked. Just because the order was not quite ready by the pick-up time, which had caused me to wait another 10 minutes or so, they gave me complimentary dinner rolls that my dad had enjoyed a lot. For the future holidays, I would know where to go to buy and take home scrumptious, hassle-free foods for the crowd! By the way, prices were reasonable.

I’ve never tasted foods from Pappa’s family since I lived in Houston. I’ve heard great reviews on their BBQ. I had a crave for some delicious Southern BBQ last week. And, after I started to eat, I fell in love with it. The beef rib was tender and had the taste of beef, not drown by the spices. Pork ribs were tender as well, they fell off the bones. However, I didn’t like the BBQ sauce. It tasted like the juice from the pan after it was burnt and then, add some sugar, vinager and salt.
