Unfriendly service. I was browsing with my husband for 10 minutes and the person working never greeted us and never offered help or suggestions. Nice selection but no bread offered. Will not be returning due to complete lack of customer service.

This place knows who they are, and they aim to do it well. It’s heaven for people who are olive oil(or vinegar) fanatics and would like to sample them before dropping lots of money on an oil. After visiting family in French wine country, we had a renewed interest in olive oil. We tried the high-end grocery places and cooking stores and were disappointed with the selections, so we sought out a place just like this to find something special. Olive & Vine has about 7 – 10 different pure extra virgin olive oils, some infused olive oils, and lots of balsamic vinegars to choose from. Tasting is free, and to the person who wanted bread with their tasting… I like bread too, but I’ve never seen bread at an olive oil place before? I don’t think they need it, but some water might be nice(all that oil is a bit much). I think having any decent bread would actually interfere with tasting the pure flavors. Right now they have Southern Hemisphere oils — Australia, South America, and such. Many of them had a grassy flavor that I didn’t care for(I like peppery), but we did take a bottle of the mildest one which had a smooth and buttery taste. They also have some great foodie gifts like server platters, salts, and spice mixes. It makes holiday shopping for a gourmet fun and easy! We’ll be back once the northern hemisphere oils are in!

I would give them 2.5 stars if I could and here’s why: they have a great selection of oils and vinegars and are one of the few shops in Houston like this, the only employee I have ever encountered was helpful when needed BUT they don’t have bread for tasting or cleansing the palette. Both times I’ve been in here you have to taste out of tiny plastic cups… which is fine, except after tasting two olive oils I can’t even taste the difference in the third and need something to cleanse the palette. If it’s a cost issue, I say nix the plastic cups and go with bread only, if it’s not a cost issue they are losing a ton of business(from me at least) because I can’t justify buying a $ 32 bottle of olive oil if I can’t taste the notes of banana and spicy after-bite. Or perhaps I could bring my own bread, would that be frowned upon?!

Some places that specialize always beat jack of all trades. If you looking for cooking oils and vinegars. This is it.

It’s the Christmas season as I type this review. If you have anyone on your list who likes to cook go here and buy them stuff. Go now! Some 20 – 30 varieties of extra virgin olive oils — many infused with exotic and not so exotic herbs or fruits and the balsamic vinegars were to die for! I literally could not believe how good these were and began to devise recipes in my head for what to cook and what to drizzle them on. You can take a taste of each one and visit with the owner about how they are made. Truffle oil, black currant balsamic vinaigrette, specialty olives and more. Smart cook heaven! No, it’s not cheap for bottles(they do have a variety of sizes for purchase) but good quality oils and vinegars are not cheap. They hand bottle them in front of you for freshness. Any quality ingredient will run you a bit more than your average super market plastic bottled oil. Seriously…if you cook, know someone who does or need a unique gift idea… go here. I’m going back when I’m not with friends to buy some they

I don’t know how long this will be open since all they sell is olive oil and vinegar. But the quality of their products is excellent. The service is great and u can sample everything. The taste of their olive oil is noticeably superior to more common brands.

What a great concept. Came here for a Houston tidbit and walked out with three different bottles(two balsamic and one olive oil). If you are in CityCenter, you must go in and taste all the unique flavors. The staff is really friendly. So ask them what makes an olive oil extra virgin. Currently there are not any US standards on what makes an olive oil extra virgin.
