I only came here to buy products… which I ended up not doing because their customer service was terrible! I was looking for a salon that sold Moroccan Oil hair products and found them online. I called and asked if they sold it and they said they did, but they didn’t have the size of bottles I was looking for. The guy on the phone said that he could sell me two bottles of both the shampoo and conditioner to make up for not having the larger ones… I didn’t quite understand what he meant by that but either way I decided to go in and buy it there. I waked in(to an empty salon) and started asking about prices on the hair products. Both people working in the front looked like they didn’t want to help and when I asked the guy how much it would be for the four bottles he had told me about on the phone he looked at me like I was stupid. I then asked him about prices on other Moroccan Oil products and he says«I don’t know, I usually only sell those products over there, not those». Ummm… you work in this salon, you should know the prices. And by the looks of how busy it was, you should do a hell of a lot better job trying to get business rather than losing it I ended up not getting anything because of that and found the same exact products I was looking for online for much cheaper than what they were asking. Best of luck to this salon.

It seems most of the reviews on here were written by women so perhaps a review for a men’s cut would be helpful. I can’t speak to the quality of their facials or hair coloring etc., but I received a solid, salon-quality haircut. I admit that I essentially picked this place because I was looking for a cut at 5:30 on a Sunday evening and this was one of the only places open. I’m from NY and didn’t realize that so many salons /barber shops would be closed that early on a Sunday. I walked in and was immediately offered something to drink which was a nice start. Eduardo cut my hair and I was really happy with the result. Furthermore, he was extremely friendly and we had a nice conversation throughout. I was a bit surprised the price tag was $ 40 which I found slightly more expensive than I would have thought for Houston, but I really liked my haircut and had a great overall experience.

I had a wonderful experience. All the hair stylists talked to me and they seemed to be friendly with one another. Todd is amazing. He walked me through what he did and took very good care of me! Will be coming back again!

Such a positive atmosphere. I decided to go for a short cut, and now I don’t go anywhere else.

I really wanted to like this place, but I never quite felt comfortable or welcomed by the front desk personnel. Patty did my facial and she was sweet, but I was hoping the extractions would have been done more thoroughly. She seemed pretty knowledgeable, but unfortunately, I’ve had much better facials. I’m not sure if it was due to the Dermalogica line(I’m a fan of Peter Thomas Roth and Bliss facials). She gave me some samples, which was great, but I didn’t notice much of a difference like I usually do after a facial. I’d give Patty 4 stars, but the facility 1 star; hence the 3 star rating.

I went here for a facial almost a year ago. My boyfriend of that time got me a gift card so I could go get a massage but I decided on the facial. I made an appointment requesting a certain person that I saw on other Unilocal reviews. But when I got there they told me I would be taken care by a girl named Megan. And I’d say Megan is the only reason why I gave a 3-star. She did a splendid job and I love that they use Dermalogica. She was very gentle. My face was horrifying when I left there but after 3 days it was a lot better. Also, I noticed that since I got the facial, I didn’t break out for the next 3 months! The bad part. When I walked in, I didn’t really feel welcomed. When I left, I felt even more unwelcomed. I paid the receptionist with the gift card that I had, which was exactly enough for the facial. Then before I even got the chance to pull out a $ 20 so I can tip Megan, the receptionist goes«And.you took care of the tip for her right?» I wanted so badly to slap her across the face for being such a shitty receptionist. I wonder if it’s because I was young(19) or because I was Asian? Pissed me off so bad! Megan deserved her tip which was definitely more than 20% but they need to do something about how the receptionists do their job. Not coming back.

I’ve downgraded my previous review of this salon. Vanessa is gone, as are others. Lots of turn over. Found my happiness elsewhere.

This review is a little overdue, but I’ve had nothing but good experiences at Marbella. I went here in college, and the stylists were all friendly and accommodating. They know hair, from cutting to coloring. I had my hair colored dark brown here from blonde for the first time, and it turned out great. This was back in 2007, but I remember it cost less than $ 50. I really wish I could find a similar salon in Austin — the haircuts I had at Marbella all had great«swing» and grew out really nicely.

When it comes to salons I’m pretty picky and TOTALLY non-committal, but I’ve been going to this salon for about a year now because they do just everything about right. I’ve never waited longer than 5 minutes, the staff is always courteous and attentive, I can call and get a next-day apponitment — on a saturday — with no problem, and I always love my cut. Billy is the only one I’ll let touch my hair. LOVEHIM. One prerequisite: you MUST have a sense of humor to sit in Billy’s chair. If so, you’ll have a good time and get a good laugh as well as a great cut. He’s very good at young, trendy, fun cuts. Seriously, I’m complimented on my cut at least once a day. But if you want to look like a country club, cookie-cutter débutante, go elsewhere. One time I wasn’t quite sure my new cut fit me, so the next day I called him, he fit me in the same day and did just what I needed, no charge. AND I wasn’t treated like an outcast. They are serious about making their clients happy and I’m seriously keeping Billy as my stylist. I make the drive from Clear Lake every time because it’s SO worth it.

Vanessa is gone now – too much staff turnover at this salon for my liking. I’ve had four people leave in the past four years. I finally broke with Marbella and went somewhere else where, for for half the price, I wasn’t made to wait or feel uncomfortable.

I haven’t had a proper haircut since last April(as in April 2009). So last Saturday I thought I would get a professional haircut.(I did a thing a «recessionista thing» and cut my own hair in November.) The good experience was that I was able to get an appointment the same day. The hair cut was 3 stars. It was a good hair cut. I bought a product I liked from there. The bad experience was that I was booked as a male’s haircut after I clarified on the phone that I was a female and I was misquoted the price for services. I had to wait about 20 minutes past my appointment time to be seen by my stylist, Billy, Billy was taking time with another client which I wouldn’t have minded except when he met with me and I told him I had cut my own hair, he scolded me as if I was a naughty little girl. Seriously. This was my first time meeting him and he had the nerve to speak to me in a condescending manner. I definitely felt uncomfortable. I do understand it his his profession to do hair but as a client I expect to be treated with with a little respect. After some thought, I’d rather go to a stylist that makes me feel and look gorgeous when I leave the salon. I felt unwelcome so I will not be returning to this salon nor would I recommend Billy.

After extensive research after my move to Houston, I made an appointment with Vanessa and have been coming back ever since. Vanessa is incredibly friendly and listens to what I want to do with my hair(she’s taken me blond and then back to brown in the past year!). The rest of the staff is just as friendly(love Billy!). I’ve recommended the salon to several friends with whom I work with. Love it! Note: be careful where you park! My car was towed the last time I had my hair colored. I was none too happy afterwards!

Marbella(esthetician) really cares about her clients. I loved seeing her and the prices were reasonable for a facial(~$ 65). She is professional and through although my face was pretty red and marked after I left. Usually I love looking in the mirror after a facial to see such clean pores but my face was irritated looking when I left here. If you like Dermatologica products and want a decent facial, I would give it a spin.
