It’s like someone set the land aside and then forgot about it. For a park it’s more than lacking. For the pure definition of the word, «an area of land preserved in its natural state as public property,» it fits. It is exactly just an area of land, not even the full block. The grass is kept cut and there are a couple of nice trees, but other than that it’s empty, not even benches to take a minute relax and appreciate this random piece of empty space. There is no parking on Macgregor Way on the side of the park, but you can park on the opposite side of the street. If your not familiar with the area the park is on Macgregor Way, not North or South Macgregor. Very confusing, I know. Hermann Drive turns into Macgregor Way after you pass Almeda Road. So that’s where this«area of land» is located. The only thing that is interesting about this park is that it is designated as one of Houston’s First Amendment Expression Parks. I guess an area for protests, although I’m not sure people know about it. I’ve never seen anyone there. The rules are a little silly. You have to stay in a 10×10 square in a certain area of the park and the city wants to you register for a permit.
