I took my 4 yr old grandson there yesterday. It was pasta day. He wanted spaghetti. They would not serve it on a kids plate really. Very sad. I had to get him a meal.

I love Luby’s! This is my favorite location in all of Houston. It gets busy fast, so the best time to go is early in the morning or later in the evening. There are lots of things that are great here– I especially love the fried fish, chicken fried chicken, and roasted chicken entrees. The roasted chicken is a large portion and comes with a delicious scoop of cornbread dressing. For my sides, I love the soup of the day, fresh salad, fried okra, fried squash, fried eggplant, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, sautéed cabbage, jalapeño cornbread, and white dinner roll. You really can’t go wrong with anything that you choose, honestly. Their carrot cake is also amazing– I love the fresh shredded carrot that it’s topped with. Writing this is making me want to head over there now! Yum!

I’ll say this, if there is a Luby’s location to rule them all, this would be it. CLEANANDLARGE. The dining room area is huge and it’s very well unkept and decorated. I honestly don’t even stop foot in the other Luby’s locations while in Texas. QUESTIONABLEHEALTHINESS. I am not even talking about the fats or the fried food items. Our party was thirsty the rest of the day after eating here, which hints to be that food may have MSG. ITALIANBEEFFORTHEKILL. Some damn good Italian beef that they prepared. Juicy, delicious and served with two sides. The jalapeño cornbread was a tad bit disappointing though, there was no spice at all to it. WOULD I COMEBACK? Maybe, but would not be my first choice by any means in the galleria area.

The food is consistently hot, fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and always checking to see if anything is needed.

This place looks amazing and the food ain’t super great but I would come back to eat. The service was superb, the waiter Orlando was exceptional. He would change food out we didn’t like very quickly, clean the tables, refill drink quickly and even brought mints without even knowing. He completed the experience for me.

Ordered a baked potato all the way, they put way too much sour cream and they don’t heat the potatoes after loading them resulting in a not so good cold potato. My husband ordered chicken fried chicken and one piece of the«chicken» was nothing but breaking. They did bring a new piece. After a less than pleasant dinner I went to make our children their free ice cream cones and there were roaches in the spoons! A worker put a lid on the cones and said they would clean it up. This was my first time at a Luby’s, as we were leaving one of the gentlemen who picked up the plates came walking quickly saying«Ma’am! Ma’am!» I turned around thinking I left something and he says«what, you didn’t like my service or something?» I assume it was because we didn’t leave a tip so I said sorry, I don’t carry cash. He was obviously irritated and walked away. I didn’t know you were supposed to tip there, all he did was pick up 4 plates, they didn’t serve anything other than the one piece of replacement chicken. This place is the worst!

Luby’s is always slaying with the hot meals. My liver and onions with a side order of rice and gravy, fried cabbage and Mexican cornbread can’t be beat. And the service is always good.

This was a really good place to attend but beware of the Sunday crowd. The line was long but nothing out of control. Since this was my first time going to this location for my second time going to the brand so I was looking for the all you can eat option.- they didn’t have it. They offered combo meals and a greater variety of food. they also offer both beer and wine. I would go here again.

Been in Houston since 2009 and somehow never tried a meal at Luby’s until last week. Why? I have no idea; guess I never really cared to. BUT, I’m glad I did! Food was pretty good, fairly reasonably priced, and no fuss(just grab and pay). Plus they have jello! I had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cabbage with bacon, jalepeno cornbread, and jello. Good stuff.

It’s a good go to place and we’ll done here in the Galleria area. It’s a cafeteria but with style. They have a coffee bar as well and an outdoor area to sit in or inside area. Plenty of choices for food and deserts. I like it and I know you will as well. I wish they had this in San Antonio, I mean this concept. We have Luby’s there not this nice though.

Let me start by saying that Luby’s isn’t just for the old folks anymore. The food is great, the location is great, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very comfortable. I have found that the liver and onions is a perfected dish at every Luby’s I’ve gone to. They finally figured out how to add a little seasoning to the food, so I don’t have to add salt. My favorites are the baked fish(salmon and whiting), liver and onions and croquette patty. I’ve heard that the rib eye steak is good too. Sorry, I don’t eat beef so I can’t confirm. Anyway, you should definitely start back eating at Luby’s. You will love it!

This is the nicest Luby’s that I have seen. The food is displayed nicely and the seating is well appointed/comfortable. I had the pork chop today and it was cooked nicely. My fiancé had a spinach/artichoke fish, which tasted a bit weird. I would have never really considered mixing those two into a fish coating. It gets a bit busy right after church, so be prepared to stand and wait for a bit at noon on Sunday.

Quick service. Hot, tasty, home cooked food. Great wait staff to assist you at the table. Jalapeño corn bread was a nice tasty surprise. I almost always get turkey and stuffing. Orlando was a stand out wait staff. This is a Houston classic!

Super fresh, great selection & comforting. I’m a lifelong fan of Luby’s. I’m so happy that since I’ve transitioned from my ongoing order(chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, chocolate icebox pie, gigantic sweet tea and a yeast roll) to a varying vegetarian/health conscious tray(today was a side salad, new potatoes & grilled onions, corn and pineapple/orange/coconut fruit salad & a small half sweet/half unsweet tea) I still can have a spectacular meal. Since Pappas acquired Lubys, quality has definitely gone up,(along with prices… eeek!) and I welcome their changes along with their efforts to provide local produce options. Kudos Pappas inc. & Luby’s!

Lubys has changed so much since I was a kid! Pros: –they have so many different entrée options and they all look tasty! I got the turkey steak with broccoli and fried okra. All of it was delish –they even have a soup/salad option– which looked decent –so many side options as well!(Mac&cheese, mashed potatoes, spinach, green beans, etc) –I like how they have a large number of healthy options Cons: –the food is sitting there so it’s not freshly cooked(but you get your food ASAP so it’s great for quick lunch breaks) I would come back here and try some of their other entrée options!

Just as good as all the rest. This Luby’s is conveniently located off 59 North and E Mt Houston. Very close to my office, so I eat lunch here pretty often. The best part is the drive thru. Like a lot of Luby’s, there can be a pretty long line for lunch, so I’d much rather take it to go. The drive thru is quicker than you’d expect. Always fresh, and a step up from the typical ‘fast food’ lunch. I love Luby’s! You can get a Lu-Ann plate for around $ 6 – 8(entrée, 2 sides and a roll).

Before having lunch here today, I hadn’t been to a cafeteria in twenty years. I was really pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty tasty and cheap, service as fast as you’d expect, and there were even staff members to fetch refills of soda. So, if you feel like some good fried fish and some down-home sides, this is the place. Plus, I’m reliably told that this Luby’s is especially fancy. We went for an informal work lunch and enjoyed it all. Put it this way: the equivalent to Luby’s in New York City are those by-the-pound delis(self-service buffet style places where you pile a bunch of stuff into a plastic clamshell and pay by weight). Luby’s beats the pants off those.
