Are you looking for something away from the cookie cutter molding of the .99 cent stores? Well here is one that seems to stray away even from the other King Dollars you might encounter spread out through Houston. Nothing blazing different than the others but subtle things glass canters, exotic looking bottles that you know you would pay $ 20 at any other regular discount stores like Family Dollar or even Wally World. Parking is plenty here and is a good place to settle your stomach after you’ve eaten across the lot at the Larry’s BBQ(Another favorite but it’s going downhill). If you are driving up and down the 290 Pseudo parking lot you will find this near the exit of Fairbanks North Houston exit, just look for the big Larrys BBQ sign and a Shipley’s donut one. Customer service here is decent, no rude employees observed in any of my 10 times I’ve visited here. Oh, and don’t expect to pay exactly .99 cents for anything here, things are an average of $ 1.09. Call out to Lou C. He says all of the items are $ 1.15.

I’ve been shopping here since everything was just a dollar. Not sure why, but the prices jumped to $ 1.09 during 2008 global rice crisis. Then, it silently crept to $ 1.15. Nothing special to brag about this Dollar King store, except its convenient location. I love the fresh fruits(when they’re available), automotive and household products. You really have to read the expiration dates on food and cosmetic items.
