My grandfather used to own a restaurant next to our house in Vietnam and everyday I would walk over and get a fresh sugar cane juice with ice to help deal with the summer heat. I rarely find sugar cane juice anywhere in Houston other than in Chinatown and even then it can be hard to find fresh and cheap. Walking up to this stand in Hong Kong 4 Market was like being in Vietnam. There were fresh exotic fruits you will not find at any other grocery stores. Durian, jackfruit, mangosteen, custard apple, rambutan, lychee, water apple, guava, soursop and others. They don’t come cheap either. I think the bag of mangosteen was $ 4 or $ 8 a pound. Big gap in price there but I could barely hear what the lady said to the buyer. Sugar cane juice is delicious here and super fresh. They squeeze is out of the cane in front of you. You’ll have to fight your way to the cashier and to order what you want. There are no lines so you have to be aggressive about ordering. All the drink prices: $ 5 small $ 6 large +$ 1 for no ice

After my trip to Vietnam, I have been craving fresh sugar cane juice. In Vietnam you can get cups with every meal for less than a $ 1. Over here it can be quite expensive at restaurants, if they have it available and sometimes if they have it, it’s not cheap and often not even good. We were lucky to find this joint inside of Hong Kong City Mall 4 aka HK4. HK4 used to be the hotspot for new openings. But lately, the shift has gone more east bound on Bellaire. So it’s nice to find a new gem. They do offer a lot of fresh fruits too. But their sugar cane drink was $ 6 bucks cash for a large cup. Satisfied my craving!

This is hands down the best place for drinks made from fresh fruits! All drinks are $ 4, and my favorite one has to be the soursop+avocado. They sell a variety of tropical fruits as well.

I love the variety of snacks they make available here. This is the only place I go to get my fresh sugar cane juice. There are plenty of fresh fruits and freshly wrapped snacks made available here. Jackfruit is popular amongst customers here.

Really different items here than anything you will get anywhere else. I supposed this is a «Mega» version of the little street stands in Asia. The counter is filled with all sorts of seasonal and exotic fruits. The back counter has all types of grinders, sealer, juicers and even a press for sugar cane. Items: Apple, bannana, strawberry, orange smoothie– freshly blended from fruits right in front of you. Excellent energy boost before a round of golf. A+ Fruits– sometimes frozen, but always unique. A This is one of my favorite stops in town, and yes, I’m a regular!

Oh cool! They sell nicely packaged and beautiful looking fruits at the counter. To be honest, I almost skipped by this place without buying anything until I saw that they had jackfruit, which I did not find to be on their menu. I asked a lady if they made jackfruit smoothie and they said yes! ;-) Holy fuck, someone tell me where the fuck else I can go to get a jackfruit smoothie! LOL! And the great part is that it tasted really good! And it was only $ 4! Cheaper than my accustomed Thirsty’s smoothie place. I give Juicy Fresh Quan Binh Minh a B+

Juicy Fresh on the left and Quan Binh Minh on the right. both are connected, but you’ll find the crowd at Quan Binh Minh. Upon coming to this juice spot, I saw a lot of people ordering a green drink which is #1 called Rau Ma(Pennywort) for $ 4. People said this drink has a lot of health benefits such as youthfulness, improving eyesight and memory, and purifying the blood. Beware that this does have that greenish, grassy taste but it is lightly sweetened with sugar. It kind of taste like the wheatgrass shot from Jamba Juice. They have other drinks here too and they tasted ok. I didn’t get to try their prepared foods and fresh fruits, but I did see a lot of people purchase them.
