If you frequent Jos A Bank, then you would know never to pay full retail price for anything they sell in the store since they’re always having a sale. But it’s true that you get what you pay for; except for when you’re renting a tux. The last time I came in here was to get«fitted» for a tux rental since I was going to be a groomsman. The fitting took a while since the person who measured me had to come back and redid several measurements because he didn’t get it right the first time. After close to 45 minutes, the fitting was done, the information was put into the computer, and I was ready to go and wait for them to e-mail/call me telling my tux is ready. Well, I didn’t get a phone call but an e-mail instead. I went back to the store to pick up my tux, but of course I had to try it on, right? Well, almost everything fit okay, except for the most important part. The jacket. When I put the jacket on, I was like, «really?!» It was a few sizes too big. The sleeves were down to my fingertips; the shoulders were drooped all the way down to the sides. The person who originally took my measurement wasn’t there so another person helped me and he was apologetic about it and said that he would try to get a replacement jacket as soon as possible. This time around he didn’t even took my measurement. I just told him what jacket size I usually wear, he went out to get a jacket in the same size and asked me to put it on. I said«okay» and he ordered the jacket in that size, which came out to be a perfect size! So why the heck did I come in for a «fitting» if all I had to do was tell them what size I usually wear? Such a waste of my time! However, when I was here, I did manage to find a really nice suit from the clearance rack that was originally priced $ 2195.00 for $ 230. Like I said earlier, always buy the suit on sale! And just a word of advice. If you think about splurging on a suit, instead of dropping over $ 2k on an off-the-rack suit, you’re better off getting a made-to-measure suit. Seriously, thank me later. Will I be back here? Maybe if I need to rent a tux to be a groomsman for a wedding, or if I’m in need of a cheap suit. But otherwise, meh.
