This location really isn’t the greatest. They have such a limited quantity of supplies that it’s almost impossible to shop when you’re looking for specific things. I always head to the scrapbooking/crafting aisles and there’s not much to choose from. The prices are higher compared to other craft stores; so I don’t usually come here unless they only carry something that is limited to Jo Anns. I came for vellum paper, but surprisingly they didn’t have any. None! How can you be a craft store and not have plain vellum? Mind blown~

Jo Ann’s, huge as it is, can be regarded as a sort of necessary evil if you are into sewing and crafts. While there are other craft stores in town, if you’re in the market for fabrics and sewing notions, Jo Ann’s is one of the few options one has from which to choose. Therefore, I have sort of a love-hate relationship with this establishment. The aspects of this store that I love: –Unbelievably large selection of fabric; –Excellent assortment of sewing supplies, most made by Dritz and not an off-brand; –Good assortment of thread, particularly for hand sewing and specialty projects; –Diverse variety of ribbons, trims, seam bindings and similar notions; –Full range of sewing patterns with very few not in stock; –Accessories galore! Irons(multiple sizes), cutting tools, and boards: everything that you can think of to make your project go just that much smoother. The characteristics of this store that I hate: –Fabric can often be of low quality: thin, loosely woven and too sheer; –Often fabric is emblazoned on the selvage with a repeating trademark that covers nearly 1 to 2 inches of the material. Since this is included in the width of the fabric and must ultimately be cut off, you’re not really getting a true 44″ or 45″ piece of material. This is infuriating, particularly if you’re using the entirety of the fabric for something such as curtains or a blanket; –Sales help(other than in the sewing machine area) is non-existent. If you do happen to wrangle someone to assist you, they’re either ambivalent, lacking knowledge or rude; –Cutters are sloppy and careless. Edges are often hacked and uneven and you can/will be shorted; –Wait time for cuts is at times excessive(particularly on weekends), and there you are holding heavy bolts of fabric with absolutely no place to lie down your heavy load as you patiently wait your turn; –Fabric that is on sale often will not be reflected when it is cut. Watch and confirm when your ticket is scanned at the table or you’ll be charged full price; –Decorator fabric selection is absolutely pathetic; –Check out line is always long and moves at the speed of molasses in January; –Never attempt to use more than one coupon(even with multiple items purchased), as a battle of wills will ensue and you will surely lose and leave very frustrated. Sewing is very math-based. There are six things I love about Jo Ann’s and nine things I hate. Mathematically that gives them a 1.5, so I’ll bump them up to a 2 for good measure — which is something Jo Ann’s doesn’t appear to be cut out to do.

So I’ve been here several times and I love Jo Ann. They have a variety of fabric material and many art supplies stuff. They also have threads and sewing stuff. I love coming here to catch up on my artistic side and keep up with the new cool ideas. They also have some pamphlets in the store for some ideas if you need them. I find every location different but I love this one.

Horrible long lines at checkout. Even worse at cutting counter, meat market number style. Unpleasant cutters. Horrible wait at times whether store is busy or not. Go to Hobby Lobby down the road.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Surly employees, a couple are downright abusive. They have not the slightest idea how to measure and cut fabric properly, and you will be shorted up to ¼ yard if you don’t watch like a hawk(which they do not like). If there is more than one person in line at a time, they will only honor one coupon, regardless of what the coupon says — and if you dare ask for a manager, forget it – they won’t come up to help you. Their scanner equipment rarely works at cutting table, and even when it does, posted sales are often not shown on the scanned price. Again, watch like a hawk. Their scanners print out a little yellow slip with a single scan bar for your total fabrics, but the registers often can’t scan them and all items have to be entered one-at-a-time by hand. Which is really annoying for the cashiers, and they make sure you hear all about it. I have repeatedly caught cashiers skipping my coupons and then talking to me rudely when I insist they be scanned. I get pulled in by good sales/coupons, but when they won’t honor them, why bother. Go to Hancock instead. They take competitor coupons and are nice.

They have great fabrics and great sales! If you work your coupons and specials, you can’t beat it!
