I only wish I could type the horrible LIFE experience I just had at the Houston East Sam Houston Pkwy location. My first time in the store about a month ago was fantastic!!! I told the young man behind the counter that I was unsure of what to order. He allowed me to take my time, read the menu. Once I decided on the sub and size, I told him him to dress it as he would his own. It was the 2nd most delicious sub I’ve had since moving to Houston!(The best was a chicken Philly from a sub shop on the west side. I will tag it later). Anywho… so imagine my feeling today when I asked my family what should we stop and get for dinner tonight? Jersey Mikes! Sure we can even get extra for lunch tomorrow. Well, when we arrived at the store, it was EMPTY. So I told the young lady behind the counter, «we’re going to take a moment to order.» This apparently agitated her. My mother who is visiting ordered first. The«Manager» never asked what size she wanted. So when I informed him what size she wanted(reg) he became snooty and said«well if you don’t specify it means that you want a mini.» He corrected her size, but by the time I ordered an Italian mix he’d completely had his fill of our slowness.(Approx 3mins total and Store STILL empty). So while I ordered a reg Italian mix the young lady began asking my mother(in rapid succession) «do you want lettuce tomatoes onions?» I spotted this, so I leaned in and repeated the question to my mother much slower without accent. And we answered yes. Well that must have been the final straw because by the time I returned back to my sub(5 secs) the manager was yelling«white bread or wheat!!!» White. Whew. now I could take a mental rest from their overly anxious questions. While the«manager» places the meats and cheese on the bread, I’d take a moment to try and remember that delicious combo of fixings that the polite young man had previously put together a month before. NOPE!!! Young lady started repeatedly asking(in rapid succession) «do you want it the Mike’s way?» I respond, well I know that I want lettuce on all, tomatoes on ½, and onions on the other half. She continued to ask more questions so I repeated. Finally approx 1 min later, when my sub arrives in front of her, she places onions across the entire sub. In my motherly voice, I said«noooo honey. see that’s why I asked you to wait until the sub got ‘here’. That way I could tell you as we go along. I only wanted onions on half remember?» She actually argued with me rolled her eyes and said«that’s what I was asking you in the 1st place.» After speaking rudely to me and huffing and puffing(over my food), I said«forget it. I don’t want to eat from this place. I will pay for the sub you’ve already made, but this is ridiculous. I will not have a 12 yr old treat me this way. Please give me the number to your Regional Manager» now I was in my matter of fact voice. The manager began yelling«I’m 26 years old and I can talk to you anyway I please. I’m grown.» He storms over to the register cancels the order, slams the drawer and says«take the subs.» The young woman apologized when she saw her«manager’s» overreaction(I could actually see that she was raised right; just not properly trained for the job). After listening to manager tell me that he is not allowed to give me any number(including the 800) and that his name is «Don no Paul no Marquis hahaha.» The young lady continued to trying to complete and give me the 2nd sub, I told her«I don’t want your(*friggin*) subs. I want a number to call the DM! And to think ppl say NJ is rude. this is(*friggin*) ridiculous.» ~Verbatim So my night begins. After the f bomb, the manager yelled«Get out of my store!» Right then, the phone rings. He picks it up and goes in the back. I asked for a receipt thinking I could pay for the sub and just get the 800 number off of the receipt(essentially pay for the number since at this point I knew I did not want ANY thing from this character). No such luck. The girl at the register charges my card $ 20 and the only numbers on the receipt are to the individual store location. Oh well. Time to do an Internet search for corporate’s contact info and a Unilocal review post. We get into the car and try to decide what else is in the plaza to eat. Then the lunatic«grown man manager» comes to the window of «his store» and starts taking pictures, making faces, and shooing my car out of the parking space. All while on his call. I’m flipping through my phone at lightening speed to get to corporate’s info at this point. It never dawned on me to video tape his ridiculousness. Moral of the story… if you agree with a 26 yr old blk male yelling and taunting two women old enough to be his mother and grandmom… Happy eats!!!

LOVELOVE Jersey Mikes Subs. It’s not the same as subway or any of the other sub shops. Such a different variety. The staff is very welcoming. I always try to make it a point to stop by when I get a chance. Its definitely worth stopping in and grabbing lunch or even dinner. Ill definitely be back again and again. :)

Subs are AMAZING! Service was great and staff was very helpful when it came to trying to decide on which sub I wanted. I went with the Chicken Chipotle Philly Cheese steak, and OMG it was one of the best Subs I have ever tried! They definitely left me coming back for more! Not only are the subs good but the restaurant is also super clean with attentive staff. I would highly recommend stopping here on your next lunch break or even for dinner!

BYFARTHEBESTSUBSINTOWN! I stopped by this location on my way home from work, and I was impressed with how friendly and inviting the staff was. The shop was very clean and overall a great atmosphere. I will definitely be eating here more often!

Home of many different takes on the Philly Cheese Steak plus many other sandwich offerings. Jersey Mike’s is much better than Subway and maybe even a notch above Quiznos in my book. I was in the mood for«something chicken» so I asked the gentleman behind the counter what his favorite chicken sandwich was. He said it was the 42 Chipotle Chicken Cheese Steak so I went with the 7″ Regular size and paired it with a bag of chips and a ½ and ½ lemonade/iced tea. The sandwich was tasty and satisfying. It wont’ make you forget the genuine cheese steaks you get on the east coast but was nonetheless good. I also tried some of my bro’s Philly cheese steak and it was okay as well. Again, having had several on the east coast, the bar was set pretty high and these sandwiches won’t quite rise to that level. If you are starving, I’d suggest going for a 14″ Giant sandwich. All in all, we were pleased and would definitely hit up Jersey Mike’s again.

First time coming here. Never been to Philly, but I would imagine this is how Philly cheese steaks taste over there. I got the big kahuna Philly cheese steak and it was great. The meat to bread ratio seems kinda high on bread but I thinks it’s because the bread is so thick and fluffy. But you definetly get enough steak in the sub. Also don’t know if it was a fluke or something but I order the regular size sub and I can say it was about 1 and ½ to 2 times bigger than the subways so called 6 inch. The sub was hot and freshly made. It’s a little bit more expensive than subway, but I think it’s worth it when it comes to Philly cheese steaks. The staff is nice and friendly and the restaurant seemed clean.

I’ve had sandwiches from here twice and I’m still in love with this place. yes it’s a lot of bread and a little on the expensive side, but well worth it… philly all the way.

The sandwiches are simply made. Nothing like SUBWAY Sandwiches. This turns out to be a really good thing! Had the #2 with lettuce, onion, tomato, black pepper, oil and vinegar. OMG!!! The bread was soft yet a little crunchy on the outside, sort of like semolina bread but not as hard. The hero reminded me of Blimpie when they 1st opened! Love this place!

My actual star rating is 3.6. I went to this Jersey Mike’s today for lunch and had a cheese steak sandwich. It was hot, cheesy and was a pretty decent sized sandwich. My only real complaints were that it seemed to be a little on the salty side and they either need to reduce the thickness of the bread or add a bit more meat. The bread to meat ratio was too high on the bread side. Don’t get me wrong, there was a fair amount of meat, but the bread was really large. The flavor of the steak was pretty good(other than being too salty), but it wasn’t anything to write home about like Pappa Geno’s over off of Ella. The place was very clean and the staff was very nice. Even though the line was long, they moved people through there pretty quick. I’m going to return to try a sandwich, because I was impressed that they sliced the meat for each sandwich when they actually made the sandwich. Both the pastrami and the roast beef looked really good. Had I seen them prior to ordering the cheese steak, I probably would have gone with one of those. For myself and a buddy, it was $ 24 for sandwiches, drinks and chips. I’d go back for the cheese steak, but I don’t think I’d make a special trip for it. Like I said, I’m going to try a couple of their other sandwiches, because they looked REALLY good. Once I do that, I’ll do an update here.

This is one of my evil pleasures when I’m in Houston. The number 56 is nothing more than clogged arteries waiting to happen.

Great service, great food! These guys saved me today when I realized 2 hours before lunch for 60 people that I ordered from another location! Totally came through and were incredible in every aspect. Thank you!

Good chain sandwich shop. They don’t serve a vast array of sandwiches but they execute what they do have on the menu well. The variations on the Philly are my favorites.

Great place to get a sub, plenty meat on it and sliced when you order. Have ate everyone of the hot subs and no complaints there either. Staff friendly and welcomed me when I came in. My only complaint is my choice of diet soda is Pepsi or might have given 5 stars, but of course Pepsi is a management choice.

I absolutely love this place. Every time I come the staff is so polite and also make me laugh! The place is also super clean and the staff definitely hustles to get you your food fast and correct. I suggest Jersey Mikes to any sandwich loved. I’ve pretty much tried the entire menu so you can’t go wrong. I would suggest to check out the Philly by far the best I’ve found in Houston. Enjoy!

Second and last time eating here. Service was simply horrible. The staff never greeted. Treated me as though I was interrupting their chat about his off day. Got y order wrong and treated me second class like it was my fault. NEVERNEVERNEVERAGAIN!!!

I had never tried Jersey Mike’s before this one opened in the hood, and was pleasantly surprised. We have the regular sandwich shops like Subway and Quiznos in the area, so it was nice to have a new option with more hot sammies. I tried the philly with peppers and onions and was very happy with the selection. I think the bread could have been a bit fresher but the steak was flavorful and hot with loads of veggies and cheese. The sandwiches are huge here, so if you’ve got a petite appetite go with the smallest size… you still probably won’t finish it. I will definitely try this place again as they offer a bit of a gourmet option in comparison to the other sandwich shops in the area.

I Was first introduced to Jersey Mikes while stationed in North Carolina and quickly fell in love! I was very glad to see a jersey mike’s open up so close to me, because before the nearest one I knew of was in Rice Village. This location featured the great sandwiches as well as courteous and enthusiastic staff! Would highly recommend if you want real deli style sandwiches over Subway.

Amazing hot subs. Loved the Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly. Delicious! And the owner is so friendly and energetic. Definitely a place to check out for a good sub.
