The steak is marketed as grass fed, which is great. The marinade for it was just ok. This is a typical huge burrito that doesn’t really make me want it over any other huge burrito place. The house chips were too thick for my taste.

it is nice place, good food, friendly staff and food food. However, i think it is not cheap or a one«$» thing. You need to add $ 1 for sour cream and $ 1.75 for guac. it is fine though, good stuff.

Very friendly workers that seem to enjoy their job. I got the large pork burrito with a side of Guacamole and sour cream without drink it came to almost 14 dollars. Although it was decent it was not a 14 dollar meal. It did weigh a tone but the bulk of it was rice and beans which turned out to be a blessing. The pork was so salty that if it was not for the other fillings it would not be close of edible. It was almost as if they used a taco powder and did not dilute it. On the positive side there are numerous toppings such a large fresh cilantro various sauces two type of rice three type of beans. All in all I would go back if the price was right but 14 is not right.

I just happen to be a fan of Tex-Mex, especially of this kind of specialty where(soft) tacos and burritos are served. Myself, I tend to prefer the Burrito Bowl: sort of a Tex-Mex salad with meat in it. Today, I went for the salad with Carnitas — sort of spiced meat. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was low-key: comfortable and fun. This was a ‘gang-in-the-office’ out for lunch occasion, and we all enjoyed it. Food: great, and with a good variety of meats and toppings. Service: good and friendly. Atmosphere: relaxed. Compare to Chipotle Grill, but with a few more options. And, in my opinion, reasonably priced.

So, I’m a Chipotle loyalist. I think all of the burritos fillings are too seasoned and kind of clash. BUT — I go here kind of often given the INSANE lines at the Chipotle nearby. Five minutes at Freebirds or thirty at Chipotle? I’ll take the Freebirds.

Read reviews and I can see where this could be a hit or miss lunch spot. Felt very similar to a Chipotle, same setup, even similar floor plan except for the awkward pay station removed from the prep line. I was offered white chicken meat but was told would take 10 min so went with the dark meat chicken which wasn’t bad. Had the burrito bowl, cilantro rice, black beans(the other option is refried) topped with tomato, cilantro, and fresh sliced avocado, a nice touch. Overall, flavorful, healthy lunch alternative if you ditch the chips or queso and drink a bottled water!

Waited in line forever with only 3 people in front of me. Apparently someone didn’t show up for work. Ok, I can deal with that. The guy who was waiting on me kept going on and on about all that he had to do because someone didn’t show up. I ordered the veggie burrito. He puts the rice and beans on the tortilla and then tells me he was just about to start on some grilled veggies. I have already bed. Here for well over 20 minutes. Not waiting for him to get time to go back and cook the veggies. Very unorganized. There were two other guys working. One was clearly brand new and had no clue what he was doing and the third guy kept disappearing. My first and last visit to this place.

My review is pretty dated, but anyways… I ate here quite a while ago, but never bothered coming back after my first visit, because I preferred Chipotle by a considerable amount. Even though I’m pretty sick of Chipotle, I’d still go there instead. The time it took for from getting in line to finishing at the checkout literally took 5 times as long as it would at Chipotle with a comparable line. I ordered a chicken bowl, and it felt like they were doing things in slow motion… just moseying around and slowly plopping toppings on the food. That would all be ok if the food were better than Chipotle. Sadly, it’s not. The meat lacked flavor and despite their large variety of ingredients, they are of average quality at best. They go for quantity over quality. Most of the stuff in my bowl was either lukewarm or cold by the time I sat down to eat. The size of the bowl was pretty average, perhaps a similar or smaller size compared to Chipotle’s. I think the price was a bit more expensive than Chipotle, so you get better bang/buck at Chipotle. Since my bowl lacked flavor, I ended up having to use their sauces at the tables, which were just alright, nothing special.

Since Freebirds is right across the street from my office, I’ve visited the restaurant several times. After each I’ve left satisfied with the food and service. I was impressed by how generously the staff applied the ingredients, and how concerned they were with the quality of the food they gave me. For example, if the tortilla ripped from all the food they were stuffing in my burrito, it was replaced without second thought. I prefer Freebirds to Chipotle because they have a better selection of ingredients. Especially for special diets like mine. They have tempeh, a variety of tortilla sizes and flavors and other varieties of typical burrito ingredients. If you are contemplating going to Freebirds, contemplate no more. Just go!

Food was pretty cold. Tasted like only the tortilla was warm. Some of the chips were kinda stale and they were not warm at all. Tasted like they were cooked and then just left out forever never to feel warmth again. Guacamole was really good

We came here for Friday dinner and I was really shocked by how slow the service was. It took about 25min for me to get my food and there were only 4 or 5 people ahead of me. As for the food itself, I had the nachos with queso, steak, refried beans, and Spanish rice(Yeahh decided not to be healthy). Everything but the queso was average, but the queso had a lot of flavor and was quite tasty. All in all, I probably wouldn’t come back here again if I had other options.

Similar to Chipotle. Little better selection of ingredients and slightly better value. I got pork with a spiced tortilla. It was good and I left full. It is a fairly big place with some décor(like a hanging motorcycle) and other stuff. I’d go back again.

Food is almost always great! Service. eh, not so great. Which is why I give 3 stars. I’m there like 3 times a week and they still haven’t warmed up to me. Good thing I don’t go there for the service. Freebird on Cayenne, yummmmm!

This particular location is right around the corner from my house, so I stop by at least once a week when I don’t feel like cooking. The staff is pretty friendly with the exception of maybe one girl — perhaps she’s just anti-social, who knows? The food is always fresh and warm, and the wait is not long whatsoever. I’ll take Freebirds over Chipotle ANY day and this particular establishment keeps me loyal to the Bird. I just wish the company would use a sturdier bowl for the burrito bowls.

The obvious comparison is to Chipotle. Everything from the assembly line ordering to the metallic décor start from Chipotle roots. The big differentiator for Freebirds is choice. Right off the bat, you can choose from standard Chipotle options or nachos as the vehicle for your toppings. If you go with a burrito you get to choose from three sizes and four or so different wrap options. I went with a burrito with a cayenne wrap which was recommended by another reviewer. My final product had a nice touch of spice to it, but I can’t tell if it was the wrap or other ingredients. The choice is nice, but maybe unnecessary. I did enjoy the option to select a size. My medium(aka Freebird) burrito was overkill for my appetite and I could easy go with small(aka Hybrid) next time. The choices keep on rolling through the line. You get to choose from two types of rice(mexican or cilantro rice), two types of cheese(cheddar blend or monterey jack), at least two types of beans(refried or black), and then mostly the same types of things you’d get at Chipotle including tomato, corn, roasted veggies, etc. There are sauces available and sauce selection was a low point for me. All the sauces are in bottles and not clearly labeled. I just asked the server for a suggestion and took what was offered. I didn’t notice any specific flavor on my pallet from the sauce. It maybe added some heat, but that could also have been the wrap. Who knows? Nothing to recommend from the experience. Pricewise, they are in the $ 8 range for what I got and you get more than enough food to justify the price tag. There wasn’t anything memorable about my experience. It holds up well vs. other Chipotle competitors such as Hot Head, Baha Fresh, and Qdoba Mexican Grill, but it isn’t as good as Chiptole itself. I think this is because of the choices. Chipotle focuses you in on a limited set of flavor combinations that they know are good. Freebirds gives your more options, but also more chances to create a less tasty final product. I’d come back because it was a short pleasant walk from my hotel and a good value for the money, but not specifically for the food.

Very good burritos! Come here if you are hungry. Freedbirds is a Texas favorite for me… It has a very chipotle feel to it but with much more options, fresh ingredients, and sizes! Freebirds was initially a startup in Austin that got a lot of attention and became the texas chain it is now. And once you get the food here you will see why… The restaurant has a metallic and clean look an feel to it. I have eaten the monster burrito and let me say it was gigantic!!! I mean woah– how is that even profitable!!! I always enjoy stopping at freebirds when I am in Texas I can’t wait till the next time.

Great food and fast service. This feels is like a more ‘local’ chipotle… with very similar serving style and food options. I like the feel and ambiance of this place and appreciate the warm friendly service. In order to accommodate the vegetarian crowd they don’t use lard for cooking their beans and veggies!!! Which is awesome! Portions are huge and the ingredients feel fresher and cleaner than chipotle.

I found this place to be unnecessarily expensive. I paid more than $ 8 for two tiny tacos and an iced tea. I could have gone to a taqueria with waitstaff down the street and spend less, aside from having gotten free chips and salsa. The tacos were plain and the line was long and slow.
