Yes I agree with others, Google Maps DOESNOT work with getting here. So be aware of that. The store smells great and it has a very cute set up and design. I had the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. It was good, but not superb. I wish it had more chocolate. But it was moist enough and had a good texture. If I was in the area again, I will definitely stop by, but the price was a little high and the quality just wasn’t there to make a special trip out.

All I can think about is the store overhead on a piece of a real estate like this when you are selling pastry. When you can booze while eating pastry though, I’m sure that helps bring in the big bucks. — Macarons– They are $ 2.25 each, and my pistachio one tasted like a mouthful of almond extract… with no pistachio. :’( — Veruca Salt cake– you have to REALLY like salt to enjoy this one. I enjoy a slight salted flavor like in salted caramel, but the sodium here really takes… the cake. The icing consistency is a hard buttercream, so it’s not as creamy as it is firm. — Couch potato cookie with chips, chocolate, and stuff in it– enjoyable enough to eat, but probably not something I would get again. None of the flavors are particularly distinct. Took my treats to go, and while I wouldn’t be against coming back to try something new, nothing struck my fancy. I haven’t given up hope yet on this place, but I wouldn’t drive down and deal with the ass pain of parking to get a piece of Fluff Bake Bar.

WARNING: Don’t FOLLOWGOOGLEMAPSTOGETHERE, ITWILLSENDYOUON A WILDGOOSECHASETO A RANDOMGROCERYSTORETHATHAPPENSTOJUSTSELLTHEIRBAKEDGOODS. Parking can be tough, but if you can parallel park you should be fine. The Unilocal reviews is what brought me to try this place. I was craving a chocolate chip cookie and nothing else was going to crush my craving. It was my fault that I went right when they were closing and they didn’t have any fresh cookies to provide. The owner and ladies that work here are seriously just awesome cool people and just warm your heart. BUT on more serious note, let’s get back to these desserts. CAKES– THISSTUFFWASAMAZING. Carrot cake was heavenly and just made to perfection. My buddy sent the red velvet to her sister in California who enjoyed it just as much as me. Cookies(not freshly baked) — Average for me, because I came at a inopportune time so I may be wrong. I’ll edit this whenever I get a chance to go back. Brownies– Slightly below average in my opinion. Caramel Candy– Honestly, this was gross. 3 out of the 3 guys I was with had to spit it out, but it’s free and she’ll let you try it before you buy it so no harm done.

DELICIOUS! of course, try the couch potato cookies, however, everything has always been delicious. we live close by & can walk, so it’s very dangerous! but, we have yet to have something we did not enjoy, from cookies to the mini cakes/desserts! a must try!

Fluff Bake Bar is definitely a nice little addition to midtown. The service is outstanding as we came in late with 40 minutes left before they closed. They graciously served us without making us feel rushed. I would probably give them more of a 3-star rating for the quality of the baked goods but since they were more than happy to have us they deserve 4. I would say the desserts are a hit or miss. And personally, while I love sweets, I am more impressed when other flavors/textures balance out the sweetness. I had one of the carrot cake/cheesecake things in a jar and it was so sweet that I couldn’t take more than a couple of bites. It needed a tart balance, or more crunch, I dunno – just something that would make me feel like I can’t get this anywhere else. My friends both got cookies which were pretty dang good(better on flavor balance), but split between 3 people we couldn’t finish any of the 3 small items we ordered due to sweetness overkill. Another issue I had is with the acoustics – almost impossible to hear each other despite it being empty without having to lean into the table. They could totally use some noise dampening. Aside from that the energy is great and it was fun looking at the variety of treats on display.

This is slowly(quickly?) becoming a favorite dessert place for me. I love that they strive for balance. The veruca salt cupcake has the right amount of crunch and salty-sweet to go with the dense cream frosting and fluffy cake layers. A fan favorite, the couch potato, naturally won me over as it contains potato chips. The black and white cookie fell a little short compared to the others because I have had fluffier ones elsewhere. As this was my first visit, I did go a little crazy with ordering three treats, and my wallet did feel the damage.

Hands down, my favorite bake shop in Houston. Macaron flavors that are off the wall, seasonal, and phenomenal just to start…(PB&J is orgasmic) Their cupcakes are praised and for good reason~ the cake itself and the presentation are perfect! They also have bake sales that are killer and a really fun time. Bakewell tarts are beautiful as well as scrumptious, and they make a good latte as well. There really is nothing at Fluff that isn’t marvelous~ there are even duck fat caramels!!! Do yourself a favor and stop by Fluff, it’s heavenly!

I have eaten here a couple of times with a friend that lives close by. Her favorite is the Hot Veal Sandwich. I have had that sandwich as well and it is good. Recently I had the lunch special of which I choose the Veal, Pasta and Grilled Vegetables. It was all delicious and there were leftovers. The servers happily gave me a take out container so that I could take it home. We also eat some very tasty brownies for dessert. This bakery is a store front on 314 Gray St that is south of Evans(south of the QEW). There is parking on either side of the street as well as on the side streets close to the bakery(314 Gray St) The bakery has seating inside and outside in a patio setting. This bakery is very popular so it is very busy so if you want a good selection for the hot lunch go there early!

Cute little place with some of the better desserts i have had. Dessert place with wine/beer, what else could you ask for? Other than better customer service? There were two staff members during my visit and one of them definitely did not want to be here. Unfortunately, that person may have been the owner. She’s not the friendliest nor has the patience to deal with human beings. Besides that, I enjoyed the desserts at this place. I took my cousins here on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the black velvet cake, apple pie bar, and brownie. For someone who doesn’t like desserts and doesn’t have a sweet tooth, these are some of the best and fresh desserts I’ve had. I love that they’re not too sweet and have a lot of little twists to their cake. For example, the apple pie bar had a little salt which I liked, the black velvet had a nice cherry jam. Overall, I would like to come back but would regret having to deal with the staff to get to the desserts.

Hands down best cake I’ve ever had in my life. Fluff is my dessert go-to. The Veruca Salt Cake was perfect. We had a six inch cake for two people and ate it for two and a half days. It was moist, perfectly textured, and richly flavorful the entire time it survived. They have cup | cake sizes as well — you’ll see what I mean — and they are equally as good. Veruca all the way. The Devil’s food cake paired so well with the salted caramel buttercream and pretzel pieces that it left nothing to be desired. I’ve been to the new Midtown location(formerly sold out of Revival Market) roughly one dozen times. Dessert Gallery’s cakes have nothing on Fluff and the turn around for ordering a specialty cake was fast.

Thank goodness for Amanda G. and Erica S.(other Unilocal authors who shared my same sentiments) because I thought something was wrong with me! Damn Rebecca, is it too difficult to fake pleasantries when your regular customers visit and leave money with you? You could even practice saying«hello.» Such poor business practices – as an owner – are inexcusable and beyond excuse, or just a bad day. The couch potato cookie, duck fat caramels, and macaroon are divine, but not so delicious that this patron will return for absolutely lack-luster service. I was really excited to hear that Fluff had grown to its own brick-and-mortar. After all, Fluff products are the whole reason that I even know and joyfully greet the owners of Revival Market. At one time, they probably even thought that I was business partner of Fluff Bake Bar or I owned stock in the growing business because I was buying macaroon so often – and driving from Baytown to do so. I love the sweet treats, but don’t love the sour attitude. Because of which, I cannot even suggest a reader to stop in and give the items a try.

Decided to earn my first few«Good Wife» points by throwing my unsuspecting hubby his first ever surprise birthday dinner — not a bad idea, right? Fluff Bake Bar was right around the corner from where I was hosting the dinner, so I decided to check out their menu and see if something caught my eye. …EVERYTHING caught my eye: soft, colorfully-sprinkled cookies, decadent brownies, fluffy macaroons, their layer-upon-layer-of-goodness signature«cupcakes.» Just the sweet smell of the place was enough to fill me with glee! They unfortunately don’t have too many cake/cupcake flavors, but I decided to put in an order for their most popular flavor: Veruca Salt — alternating layers of chocolate devil’s food cake & salted caramel buttercream, sprinkled with pretzel bits and caramel pearls. They offer 6-inch cakes for $ 36, 8-inch for $ 46, and were able to create a special 10-inch for me for $ 66. If you want to put in an order for a cake bigger than 8-inch, you’ll have to call at least 24hr in advance. Pick up was smooth — the cake was ready by pick-up time, packed up nice and tight, and had the message written on exactly how I told them. As far as taste goes, the birthday boy and the rest of our party LOVED it! The cake was the perfect consistency, and the buttercream was light and perfectly whipped. If you’re looking for a new unique flavor for your event, Veruca Salt will be a definite hit!

Meh. I came to Fluff on a Saturday evening, and since the weather was terrible, I lucked out on some nice street parking. I was the only customer they had at that time, which was fine by me, because I really just wanted to grab a quick bite to-go. It’s a cute place. Not too much room inside, but if the weather were nice, there’s plentiful seating on the patio. I settled on the birthday cake cup|cake(it’s layered, like a trifle) and a slice of pecan pie. The cup|cake was fine, but the pecan pie was disappointing. The bottom layer of crust was very thin, like phyllo dough, and it reminded me more of a baklava, than a pie. If you’re in the neighborhood, check them out for sure, but I wouldn’t make a special trip.

Had a root beer float and an oatmeal cookie. The cookie was rock hard. Only had a bite and threw it out. The root beer float was okay. Liked it because it wasn’t very sweet. The place is a bit small but it’s big enough for a bakery. Probably can sit 6 couples? Maybe 4 parties? There were seats outside also. Smacked in midtown. I didn’t feel really welcome… the cashier was nice, but I saw the owner. she was very selective who she spoke with. Probably won’t be returning.

Came in looking for a slice of caramel cake and the girl behind the counter was so good that I walked out with a salted caramel macaroon instead! Fluff is a cute little bakery in the heart of Midtown. The décor is nothing exquisite but I like the fact that you can watch the bakers prepare desserts through a window upon entry. How cool is that! The price of their macaroons are pretty standard. At $ 2.25 it was the last one of its kind and I see why. The salted caramel was delish.

I wanted to love this place. I really did. Went here on a Saturday night. Love the biggie smalls music and decorations. Not sure how I feel about the food. I’m really upset about the macaron situation. We ordered the candy corn and pb&j flavored. Macarons aren’t meant to be out for long periods, and the result is that they were really hard! They are supposed to be light and fluffy. The flavor of the pb&j was really good, but the texture was off. They should consider make less of these and taking them off the shelf at a certain time to avoid selling a bad product. But maybe they’re hard all the time so whatever. My fault for ordering them so late, but seeing people in the kitchen made me think there was a chance their stuff was fresh. We also ordered the veruca salt cake and black velvet. The come in a little plastic container that looks like a trifle. They were pretty good. The veruca salt is a chocolate with salted caramel icing. This was by far the best thing we ordered but just a little too salty at bites. The black velvet was also good. They should really make cupcakes! We ordered a black and white cookie and it was cute they made it black and orange for Halloween. It was eh. I was also upset that they didn’t have anymore unicorn cookies! Love the bathroom art!

I stopped by to try their cake cups. I got the most popular one which was the veruca salt cake. It’s a chocolate cake, with salted caramel frosting and pretzel bits. The chocolate cake was moist, and I liked the added crunch from the pretzels. However, the salted caramel was a little too salty for me. If you love salted caramel though, this might be perfect for you!

I’ve been waiting for this place to finally have a store front. I parked a few blocks away since the location was in midtown. A few things that I’ve ordered: Birthday cinnamon roll: a crumbly texture with some rain sprinkles embedded, I wasn’t too impress, it was alright. Couch potato cookie: definitely worth trying! Not too sweet and had a lot of texture! It was very good

We ended up here by chance on a double date. We had just left an art event at Mr Peeples and were drawn in by the kitchen and décor on our way to Coco’s. So glad we stopped! Once arriving we were immediately greeted and saw several open tables. I had the lemon tart and Americano. My husband had the cannoli. Both arrived in a timely manner and were delicious! I love the clean, minimal, modern rustic feel going on here. They offer plenty of additions at their self serve bar– honey, sugar, water and glasses, stirrers, plates. Bathroom was CLEAN and seems like other Unilocal-ers have appreciated the women’s restroom art as well. I’d come back for sure! Only cons– busy area on weekends, limited/inconvenient parking, and the seat on wall was a little high for the tables.

Now, I’m not even a big sugary dessert eater, but this place may change my cravings! I doubt I would have ever stopped in here had it not been for an event I was invited to. Can I just say — I’m so glad I opted to say«yes» to that invite! The cookies are insane! The fluffernutter is by far my favorite. Taking me way back to my childhood, but with a much tastier ramped up version. And those gingersnaps — oh man — spicy chunks of crystal ginger and so soft and chewy. They are right up there next to the fluffernutters! But the couch potato is pretty rocking too! After the event, I was so intrigued with the cake menu I decided to order the seasonal Strawberry Lemon Cake for father’s day. I had emailed them, but never heard back, so I gave them a call. Glad I did because they said they were having issue checking emails. That would have been a big disappointment to show up and have no cake ready — and yes — you need to order them a few days in advance, unless you want a cup/cake. Rebecca was nice enough to let me know they were going to have a very busy morning, so picking up after 12 would be better. She even wrote«Happy Father’s Day» on it for me. That cake was AMAZING! My boyfriend even said«This is the best cake I’ve ever had» — now that’s saying something right there. This will be my go to for cakes from here on out — even if I have to drive over half an hour to get it! Do yourself a favor — go try out this FABULOUS Fluff Bake Bar!

I had first ordered a cake from Rebecca before Fluff Bake bar opened on W Gray — I got so many compliments on that cake! Everyone loved it, it was the veruca salt, and the salted caramel buttercream is so light and fluffy, and the perfect amount of salt, not overpowering like most places. When I heard Rebecca was opening a shop, I was excited they would be closer to me, and easily accessible! I came to the grand opening and picked up a couch potato, pistachio macaron, fluffernutter and a chocolate chip cookie. The couch potato is an interesting delicious concoction of salty snacks combined with chocolate chips in cookie form. The fluffernutter is a dense peanut butter cookie sandwich with a marshmallow cream center. Don’t pass up on the cup|cakes. Not your average — this is a layered dessert in a cup, with frosting and other sweet surprise toppings/fillings. The veruca salt in available in this size, so don’t leave without trying it! I have been back many times(including the time I came for a cookie crawl, FBB came has a decent chocolate chip cookie) since opening and its consistently good! They have a small dining area, but lots of outdoor seating out in the patio. They are serving wine and plated desserts at night, I have yet to try those. Parking is semi tricky, street parking on west gray, or garage a few minutes away.

I originally tried Fluff Bake Bar at Revival Market, and I thought their chocolate chip cookie was great! Now that I’ve visited their brick and mortar and tried more of their items, I thought it was time for an update. Here are the things my little sweet tooth tried: –Couch potato cookie — excellent, my favorite item that I tried. Sweet and yet salty at the same time – wonderful! –Birthday cake macaron — the fact that I threw away half of it says something – I usually never let a sweet go to waste. It was pretty hard – not light and fluffy like a macaron should be – and tasted a little funny(sorry, I can’t think of a better way to describe it) –Veruca salt«cupcake” – it’s cake and icing in a cup, which is a really cute concept but not as yummy as I’d hoped. The cake was OK, but the icing wasn’t as buttercream-y as I would have liked. As far as service goes, I really got no greeting when I walked in the door, and it took them 5 – 10 minutes to get to me. Although I would expect this if the store was really busy, there were only two other customers. This may sound funny, but they didn’t really seem happy to be there – a place filled with yummy sugar should always be a happy place! While I’m all for new bakeries and think the cookies at Fluff are fantastic, I’d still say Common Bond, The Chocolate Bar and Red Dessert Dive are going to stay my go-tos.

I recently returned to try their plated desserts, which are available daily from 6PM to close. During the day, it’s a grab-and-go type of bakery. At night though, it really comes alive. Chef Mason has had pastry experience in NYC, so this is her chance to showcase her skills outside of cookies(not hating on cookies, I love them). She’s already infamous for being a tad abrasive, and I don’t think I’ve seen her smile, but try not to let that affect your sweet experience. The plated desserts are totally fancy schmancy. I couldn’t even remember the intricate details of each item without referring to a photo of the menu. They’re made-to-order, and will cost you a pretty penny(~$ 13). You can get wine pairings and plan a staycation on the lovely patio out back. We shared the following: –Chocolate butterscotch tart with malted milk ice cream and milk crumb. The tart was way too salty to eat on its own, and there wasn’t enough ice cream to balance the flavors. The milk crumb had an interesting texture, and I suspect some molecular gastronomy at play here. –Risotto Zeppole with gingered blueberries and honey semifreddo. Don’t worry, I, too, was puzzled. What does this all mean? It is basically deep fried donut holes with risotto stuffing. I was very intrigued by risotto in a dessert, and it didn’t disappoint. My favorite part was the honey semifreddo, which translates as semi-frozen. Think frozen mousse– almost but not quite ice cream. –Veruca salt cup/cake. Just had to. It’s the best thing ever. –Strawberry lemon cup/cake– a seasonal flavor. What a GREAT feeling when nobody else likes your favorite dish as much as you do, so you get to devour it exclusively. The brown butter cake was moist, the strawberry jam and lemon curd worked well together, and the little blond chocolate pearls on top had a great crunch. Loyal fans will rejoice because all their favorites are available– fluffer nutter and unicorn bait cookies, and way more interesting than their chocolate chip. Cupcakes? Soooo five years ago. Cup/cakes(literally, cakes in a cup). are so hot right now! They’re much easier to eat on a date without getting frosting all over your pretty little face. They have several 6 inch cakes available for drop in purchases(~$ 36.99), but anything larger must be ordered in advance. Business hours have been extended to as late as midnight on weekends! I’m forever an advocate for late night dessert binges.
