Eddie V’s is consistently on top of their game. The food is great, the ambiance is sophisticated, and the service is top-notch. I love coming here on a regular basis for a romantic dinner during the week or a laissez-faire evening in the lounge on the weekend to enjoy some live music. I’ve had almost everything here, and can say that you won’t go wrong with any choice on the menu. Their oysters are on point, the crab cake is one of the best, and their salads are excellent — the mushroom salad, iceberg wedge BLT, and Fuji apple salad are my top faves. You can’t go wrong with any of their fish — especially the halibut and Chilean sea bass. The scallops are perfectly cooked. Their seared ahi tuna and swordfish steak are great as long as they don’t overcook them(which they’ve done once on each dish for me). The lobster tails prepared here are fresh and sweet. Can’t go wrong with any of the prime classics, especially filet Mignon and bone-in ribeye. When feeling indulgent, the truffled mac and cheese is a must! The obvious dessert choice that everyone will steer you toward is their famous«bananas foster» butter cake, but one of my personal favorites is the butterscotch panna cotta — so light and delicious, with salted caramel and walnut pralines — yum! All in all, a great choice to enjoy prime seafood and steaks with live jazz in a relaxed, elegant atmosphere!

Great happy hour! $ 10 glass of cab and several great appetizers to choose from. We had the fried oysters, lobster tacos, and potstickers. Everything was great but the lobster tacos were SO good! Wonderful service in the bar area. Can’t wait to come back!

Everything was amazing! I ordered the lump crab cake, roasted chicken breast, scallops, truffle mac n cheese, and spinach. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the cake for the banana foster tasted a little burnt. Other than that it was superb!

This place as absolutely delicious. Unlike many other places, this is the type of quality you’d expect to get when you pay higher prices. Had the filet Mignon and it was perfectly cooked. Lobster was also absolutely delicious. Great service as well. Will definitely be coming back frequently.

One of the best restaurants in Houston. Fantastic service and atmosphere – even better food. Above all, our server Rodney made the night with his professional and courteous attendance. Additionally, he was honest and accurate with all of his menu recommendations. You will definitely want to start your night out with a few cocktails; they are great here. Then move on to the first course with the Maine lobster tacos(perhaps the best item on the menu) and the crab cake. We ordered the Fuji apple salad to share since Rodney said it was quite large, but it’s not for everybody since it has bleu cheese. Our other party member ordered the lobster bisque, which was excellent. For the main course, we ordered the red fish(quite tasty), the bone-in ribeye(which was extremely savory, although a bit overdone for medium rare), and a breaded cod special with a side of truffled mac & cheese. Finally, we had the crème brûlée and the fresh berries for dessert. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I hope to return soon!

I was in charge of setting up my brother’s bachelor party, so I wanted to get all the guys together and have a nice dinner here. We had a large party so we called ahead to let them know. We arrived on time, but they were still trying to get our table together. They suggested we wait at the bar. We sat at the bar and got excellent service from our bartender and was seated shortly after. Our waiter was excellent in getting everyone’s orders right and made sure the drinks we ordered kept coming. My brother and I started off with the jumbo lump crab cake. I can honestly say it was one of the best ones I have had, and I’ve had them in the east coast! For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon. This was my first time ordering that cut, and I now see why its such a pricey steak. It was absolutely delicious. I barely had to use force with my steak knife. It was so juicy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. As much as I liked that, the star of my meal was the truffled macaroni and cheese. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavors were on point. I would come back just for that! Eddie V’s is definitely a great spot for a nice, elegant dinner. The service was top notch and the food was amazing!

I’ve been here for both happy hour and the main dining area and had great experiences both times. Although the bar area is more lively, the dining room offers a more quiet, intimate setting especially on the slower nights. Listen for the live music(coming from the bar) on the weekends. The 22oz bone-in ribeye was excellent, crab fried rice was interesting to see at a steakhouse but delicious and the bananas foster was very sweet but a great dessert that’s worth the price. Service is always excellent, thank you Nick. Parking has never been a problem for me at West Ave., I always find a close spot in the garage.

Eddie Vs is fantastic! The bar area is a great spot to have a cocktail and appetizer with a client or friend, and they have some fantastic bartenders. Bronson and Victor are awesome(great cocktails, fast service, very personable). On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night the bar area has a band. It’s like a scene out of Mad Men with a old school Frank Sinatra vibe to it(depending on the band). Dinner there is awesome too. I like the red fish and the Chilean sea bass, both are exceptional. The dining area is very nice, but the band and the center bar make the bar area my favorite spot. This location of EVs is a really good one. I’ve been to a few others but this one is my favorite by far.

Eddie V’s is such a great place for great food, wine and music. The Service is impeccable and the Managers are always making sure you have what you need. Delicious apps, entrees and desert! What more can ask for, I say!

Service 4.5÷5 attentive, informative, funny — especially during new year’s eve! Ambiance 5⁄5 there was some live entertainment by the bar, honestly all I remember was a pianist, but there were other instruments. We were only at the bar for a little while before being seated in the opposite side of the restauraunt from them. This place is very dressy. Food 4.5÷5 I got the George Banks scallops — amazing, moist; it was paired with a grapefruit or some type of citrus butter sauce that just blew it out of the water(hah). I was with a group of 6 so I also got to try their entrees! Sauteed Red Fish with lump crab — it comes with a lemon on the side so I didn’t get to it before my guest added it, anyway, this dish was delicious! Perfectly light and flaky, paired great with the meuniere sauce(brown butter, chopped parsley, and lemon). Chilean seabass — light with an undertone of sweetness, very good North Atlantic Lemon Sole — amazing combination of citrus and savory. Sides — I recommend truffle mac and cheese, au gratins, mash potatoes are always good(but nothing extraordinary), parmesan spinach is refreshing and light Dessert — banana’s foster!!! It’s on fire!

Amazing place for a special occasion dinner. I went here for an Anniversary dinner with my better half. First, let’s say that the service was amazing! They gave us a «Happy Anniversary» card, signed by their staffs. The table was decorated with Rose petals. Way to start the evening! Kudos for this! We started with their Calamari. I was expecting something Italian-ish, served with Marinara sauce. But it was totally different — in the best way! The crispy calamari is served on a bed of fried vermicelli. Topped with sautéed vegetables with hint of soy sauce — asian style. The charred on these veggies gave it that extra kick that hit the spot! I ordered the Filet Mignon($ 39) with Lobster Tail. The lobster was so fat and juicy, decent deal for it’s rather high price-tag($ 44). Served with warm lemon butter sauce. Amazing dish when you want surf and turf. My partner ordered the Steak with crab meat & asparagus(I forgot what it’s called on the menu). Solid dish. The only thing is, their hollandaise-type sauce was not that great. Speaking of sauce, don’t order their side sauces for ur steak, they’re rather bland. As the side this, we got the Crab Fried Rice with mushroom. Amazing, amazing dish! Super fragrant and I can taste the butter. It has bacon it in, too! Very simple fried rice: garlic, butter, and soy sauce, but they just executed it in a marvelous way. We ended our dinner with Banana Foster Cake. Great dessert. The bourbon caramel compliments the sweetness of the cake & ice cream. The cake itself can be slightly less sweet, but hey, most people don’t have a limit on sugar anyway. Bottom line, this is a great place for a dinner date or taking your beloved family for a special event, or maybe if you’re just trying to impress you client and win that big fat check. We will definitely come back! For dessert, we

I came here( Unilocal) and read the reviews: first I noticed that it averaged a 4.2. That was impressive. Then I found out that this restaurant that I had driven by many a time also had a lounge where you could listen to a small band playing jazz standards. The menu looked very tasty as well. It was sounding better all the time, soooooo… I took my wife on a date(just because). Well, the experience did not disappoint. The tables all have white tablecloths, and there is a lounge, a main dining room, and a private party room. The ambience is subdued, and calming, especially when it is not at-its-peak busy. But even then, we weren’t subjected to obnoxious, loud music that made it difficult to participate in a conversation with someone sitting next to(or across from) you. All the waiters were dressed in the classic white jacket, black bowtie, and black slacks, which all added to the experience of feeling like this establishment had class — it did. Our particular waiter tonight was a gentleman named Stacey. He, like all the servers, made it his job to attend to our every need, including a) explaining the menu — all four sections — from appetizers to desserts. Also the wine and cocktail list. He let us take our time, and even suggested we just relax and enjoy the experience: a very nice touch. Well, the food lived up to what you’d expect from a $$$-rated restaurant. It wasn’t just that the food prices were premium, but the food itself was. I had a steak-au-poivre with a cognac sauce, which perfectly complemented the steak, but stood on its own just perfectly: the steak was very juicy and flavorful all by itself. The cognac sauce was, as they say, «gravy.» My wife had a filet topped with lobster scampi. In her words, it was ‘simply delicious.‘ Even the valet parking was only $ 5.00, which was relatively inexpensive for what I’ve paid before. The whole experience proved that this is unquestionably a place for a special occasion, particularly for a date with that significant someone. I highly recommend this: it is a special experience, and I have been to places like Flemings, Vic and Anthony’s, Willie G’s and Sullivans. A five-star restaurant, and worth the price. A quality experience is what they serve you and they do it well.

CAN I GOBACKYET??? We had the BEST dining experience last night! Our server, Sean, was amazing. He had excellent recommendations and a friendly, polite, professional demeanor that really added to the overall experience in a very positive way, we hope to have him again as our server on our next visit. The food was outstanding. The oysters(we had a sampling), were perfectly salty and buttery, accompanied with the atomic horseradish, just exceptional. The sashimi melts in your mouth the minute it hits your tongue, accompanied by a pleasurable kick from the red chiles. My husband had the Bone-in Filet, and it was cooked perfectly, an excellent recommendation from Sean. I had a special shellfish tower made to my liking(no oysters since we started with them), and it was just beautiful. Huge, succulent lobster, bountiful shrimp, perfectly plump looking like they were just caught that morning, and meaty lump crab brimming with freshness. I really could go on and on, but I want to say how incredible the bananas foster is — THEBEST dessert I have ever had! I love getting a piece of the slightly dark edge of the cake, mixed with a bit of warm banana, and a little ice cream… PERFECT! Even if you think you are full — YOUARENOT. Order this, thank me later. :) Cheers!

Amazing food and service! We ordered an off-menu appetizer with fresh crabs. Everything was de-shelled so it was very easy to eat. It came with four claw meats and more fresh meats with fresh veggies and mangoes. We loved it! We also ordered one lobster bisque and shared it. They brought it out on two separate bowls for us and each bowl had a big clump lobster. We enjoyed the flavor of the bisque and we liked eating it with their fresh bread. For the main course, we ordered the scallops and swordfish steak. Both dishes were excellent! The scallops were cooked perfectly with the light brown crust. It came in fresh sauce with citrus and unique herbs. The swordfish was cooked to perfection as well. They gave me a steak knife, but I didn’t even need it as the fish was very tender. The steak came with avocados and other fresh veggies. For dessert, we got the banana foster. It was interesting because they lit it off on fire in front of you! However, I didn’t like the taste of strong alcohol toward the bottom part of the dessert. The service was also great! Everyone was friendly and helpfuln

Live tiny band on Saturday nights. Right by the bar. Sets the tone of the ambiance. I started out with the Yellowtail Sashimi & Batter Fried Oysters. I’ve had better sashimi, the ponzu sauce was too salty for my taste. & the cuts weren’t as thin. But those oysters omg. Crispy, just enough spice, the flavor was there! Oysters were chewy though. Maybe they use different shucks. Nice wine selection to choose from. I ordered the Gulf Shrimp over Crab with Twice Baked Potatoes & Brocolini.(I don’t care if it’s a hybrid veggie they know how to sauté the hell of of it). Everything tasted so good seriously. The service was cool since I was just at the bar but I had to eat there because of the«no hat policy». Hey it was raining cats & dogs which equals a bad hair day but that wasn’t going to make it a bad stomach day. I’m ready to order maam lol frizz & all.

Parking: There is valet in the front of the restaurant or you can use the parking garage on Kipling Street. I arrived at 5:00PM and there wasn’t an issue finding a spot. Time and Day: Ate on a Saturday evening at 5:00PM for Houston Restaurant Week. Table was reserved for two in advance and so no wait time for us. By the time we finish, it was around 7:00PM and the restaurant was packed! Best bet is to reserve a table a head of time if you want dinner here. Food: I ordered the Pot Stickers as my first course, North Atlantic Lemon Sole as my second course, and the hot«bananas foster» butter cake as my final course. First the Pot Stickers is basically dumplings that you can find in an Asian restaurant on Bellaire. The dumplings were decent but I had better at many Asian restaurants on Bellaire. Instead, order the Main Lobster and Shrimp Bisque! Overall, the Pot Stickers deserve a 2⁄5. For the main course, the North Atlantic Lemon Sole was average too. I didn’t really taste the lemon garlic butter and is easily compared to something at Pappadeux seafood. The fish didn’t do it for me so it gets a 3⁄5. Luckily, the hot«bananas foster» butter cake was absolutely delicious. Just the butter cake alone was delicious and so the ice cream was an added bonus to the plate. The dessert gets a solid 5⁄5. Overall the food gets a 3⁄5. Service: Waiter was courteous, nice and professional. He assisted us with the menu, joked with us, and checked up on us every now and then. On the reservation, we made note that it was my girlfriend’s birthday and so the staff gave her a birthday card with the staffs’ names in it. And on her dessert plate, they wrote happy birthday on the side for her. Excellent service so it gets a 5⁄5. Price: It was Houston’s Restaurant Week so the price per person was $ 45. For my selection, I say the price was not worth it. The Pot Stickers and the North Atlantic Lemon Sole were average and so I wasn’t too happy with the price tag. However, if I would to come back, I would definitely change my selection to the Main Lobster and Shrimp Bisque and 22 Oz USDA Prime Bone-In Ribeye to justify the price. Overall: Food was average(but the hot«bananas foster» butter cake was awesome), service was perfect, and the price was okay. Overall, a 4⁄5.

This restaurant makes me want to reduce all my other 5 star review to 4 stars just so these 5 stars mean more. THISPLACEISAMAZING! The quality of food and flavor here is impeccable. My boyfriend and I came here for our 1 year anniversary and let me just say… He did gooooood. We ordered off the Houston restaurant week menu. Him: *lobster and shrimp bisque — the creamiest meaties soup I have ever tasted. He said it might have been better than his mom’s lobster bisque. Had a big piece of lobster tail in it *22oz usda prime bone in ribeye — it was huge. The flavor was terrific, and it was so juicy but still cooked medium well! truffle Mac and cheese — the best side dish on the menu! I don’t even know how to describe this delectable dish. Just order it. Crème brûlée — this was a perfect, light, sweet end to the perfect meal. Me: *pot stickers — these are hands down the best pot stickers I’ve ever had. They were full of meat and served with mushrooms, bell peppers and green beans, and in a dish with the dumpling sauce. Such a good start *filet mignon medallions with gulf shrimp — the shrimp were okay, but those medallions were out of This world! Eating this medallions with a little truffle Mac and cheese and double baked potatoes was the perfect taste. The asparagus was also a nice touch. *double baked mashed potatoes — creamy smooth perfect for steak. *dark chocolate mousse — this end to the meal was when I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was expecting some light fluffy whipped chocolate cream in a champagne glass. But this was a slice of dense dark chocolate mousse that was sweetened perfectly and complemented with some assortment of berries. All in all, everyone should definitely try this place for restaurant weeks. It is a can’t miss restaurant. And if I had the money I would eat here once a month.

We came yesterday for the first time. It was a great experience that we sat at the lounge and enjoyed the live music performance. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. However, the foods were kind of disappointed. We ordered: Lobster taco($ 18): good, generous amount of the lobster. My partner loved it! Jumbo crab cake($ 18): tasted normal, nothing special. Red fish($ 29): do not recommend it. The fish was simply fry with sauce on top. It was bland and the sauce tasted weird. Sea scallop($ 37): 5 med-rare seared scallops on top of beet risotto and grilled beets. Risotto was undercooked, it wasn’t soft enough. The scallops themselves tasted pretty good though. Crab fried rice side dish($ 7): good, recommend it! Brussel sprout side dish($ 7): do not order it! They simply pan-seared them with no seasoning; tasted bland, dry and burned. «Hot» banana foster with pecan ice-cream($ 10): it is the most popular dessert based on all other Unilocalers, however, it was way too sweet for me, extremely sweet i meant. I couldn’t take up for more than 3 spoons.
