I seriously eat Droubis once a week. The shwarma is so cheap and good, the lady is always nice to everyone, I love Droubis

I don’t care if this place is in a interesting part of town. I dont care that if I venture when the sunsets I have to be careful of my surroundings at all times. I only care that this place has the best baklava I have ever tasted. The pastries are just wonderful and reasonably priced. Other places want to charge by the lb. or $ 2 average for a piece. This place offers all for $ 1.00. A sweet deal for sweet pastries. I’m not sure if the pastries are made in house or what, who cares! They are the best you can taste. Also, you can pick up specialty items and fresh pita bread. If I were more familiar with other items I am sure that I would purchase. For now though, I stick to the baklava, pita bread, dates, and date filled cookies!

Wifey and I tried this place out at the recommendation of a good friend. He said the pastries were delicious. He was CORRECT!!! They were(ask my 100+lb rotty that found these and ate them! :/…) We had a lamb and chicken Gyro. Quite tasty and different than most cuisine in Houston. Then came the pastries1 There were DELICIOUS(to bad my dog ate the last half. Ughhhhh.) IT is off the beaten path a bit, but a great place to find Lebanese food.

I used Droubi’s Bakery and Deli for an event at the recommendation of someone else. The food was ok. The Falafels were burnt to a crisp and the meat was super dry but the tabouleh, rice and sweets were good. I wouldn’t suggest them for catering.

I have to say they probably have the best pita bread and cheese bread hands down. Baklava is better than most. I feel like the meat section on the grill is not what it used to be. Seems like they NO longer offer Beef Shawarma but instead Gyro meat. I wished they would offer that once more. Rice and veggies have good flavor and hummus as well. Grocery part is modest. It is not as large and elaborate as some others, but has good selection for its size. Although I feel like it has changed over the years, I still like it though. It was really my first introduction to Lebanese food. :)

Except the fresh bread nothing much to boast about. The food is too old. Grape leaves had the spoiled taste to it. The sides are like Golden Corrall, not anything Mediterranean. Chicken shawarma plate $ 7. Not worth returning. The food court customers were not middle eastern but mostly Hispanic. Low volume restaurant making the sides sitting out risky to try.

This place is awesome. The bread is great(omg cheese pitaaaa), the meats are great, the desserts are great. Only problem is that sometimes the workers are nowhere to be found and you’re just kind of like, umm, so… how do I get my food? But once you find them, they’re SUPER friendly. The shawarmas are great, but the lamb shank is awesome too. And so cheap!

Great place for your middke eastern groceries. Large selection of olives and breads. Exelent hotdeli foods cooked fresh. Sometimes help can be spotty.

Seriously, this is so far the best falafel in houston I have found. This place is in a rough part of town, do not let this discourage you. When you arrive there is a grocery store on the left side when you walk in and the deli on the right. It’s a buffet line of different dishes with a large hanging menu on the wall. The falafel pita is $ 2.99. That isn’t a joke. It is delicious. It is served with creamy tahini, pickles, onions, and tomatoes. I also bought a side of homemade hummus, cilantro potatoes, and homemade pita bread. All for $ 8. There is also a bakery; I did not try anything… this time. Next time when I go back I’m going to have a field day. This is not a normal restaurant. There is no waitress. You order from the person behind the buffet line counter, pay at the register in the grocery side, and either take the food to go or sit down at the few tables in the deli. THISPLACEISDELICIOUS.

I had such high expectations when I went to this location for the first time. Their shawarmas were so sub-par.

Best Lebanese food in Houston! Droubi’s is a market with a cafeteria on one side with about 10 tables. They have a never ending video of bellydancing with arabic music playing. Very simple and laid back atmosphere. The best things I have had: kibbeh in yogurt, hummus and lamb rice. Get some fresh spinach pies and frozen meat pies to go. Great classic Lebanese desserts! (my husband and I split 3 kibbeh, one plate of lamb rice, side of hummus with pita bread and 2 canned drinks for $ 13⁄4 spinach pie triangles and 1 package of small meat pies to-go were $ 6)

the chicken shawarma was decent. it could have used a little more sauce, but then agian, i’m the one who likes to absolutely drown my food in sauce. the chicken was cooked well, but i think i’m gonna go with the beef one next time, since it looked pretty good on the rotisserie thingy. the grapeleaf with rice and meat was just ok. a little too much lemon juice. is it weird that i got treated here by someone who paid for me in food stamps? thank you city of houston for lunch, and thank you droubi’s for helping poor people get their grub on.

Mediocre. Ordered the gyro. List of complaints: 1) The pita bread was to rough and chewy. 2) The salad tasted very old. 3) The potatoes tasted pretty old as well. 4) They didn’t even have the decency to put the meat in the gyro. Pros: The meat was decent. Never coming back. Ever.

It may look sketchy and it’s a little far(I live inside the 610 loop), but it is worth the drive. The food is amazing — fresh and delicious. Plus, the prices are incredibly low for the quality. Check out the grocery section too, you’re bound to find something new and interesting :-)

My favorite Middle Eastern grocer/restaurant in Houston. One of my absolute favorite Shawarmas of all time(besides the ones in Israel) and Falafel. You can get any Middle Eastern Pastries and all sorts of olives, fresh feta, and of course their freshly baked pita. I love going there and seeing the piping fresh steamy bags of pita. You can also get all of your hooka tobacco and accessories here.

This is an old-school Middle Eastern bakery with a grocery section. This is the first Droubi’s of the well-loved chain — especially since it may also be the first Middle Eastern bakery & deli in Southeast Texas. While it’s still loved, better options have come up lately(check Phoenicia). It still gets 4 stars in my book.

I think this is the biggest of all the Droubi’s locations. The grocery/housewares section here is huge and includes some music(and musical instruments) — it’s a great place to pick up a cheap jar of tahnii or a huge block of cheap but fresh feta. The baked goods are fresh and tasty(date cookies are a must-try), and the entrees and sandwiches include delicious options for vegetarians and omnivores. I’m a fan of the tabbouleh and feta sandwich, but it’s hard to leave without taking home some pre-packed bread and hummus or spinach pies. You could eat a ton of food here for less than $ 10. Don’t get freaked out by the location.

The sandwiches at Droubi’s are great. My two favorites are the beef shwarma and the falafel sandwiches. I used to get a falafel sandwich and a side order of humus(which is above average at Droubi’s). The side order was huge and cost as much as the sandwich. I recently figured out a(probably obvious) trick though. If you order the falafel plate, you will get three falafel, tahini, pickles, bread, etc. You can make your own sandwich. Plus with the plate you get two sides. In addition to the humus I would recommend either the baba ghanoush(my favorite in Houston) or the tabouli. If you ask nicely they will give you an extra piece of bread for your dip, or you can buy your own bag for about a dollar. While your waiting for your sandwich to be made, pick up some bread or meat pies over in the bakery section. Both are top notch.
