I love Mediterranean food! Me and my boyfriend decided to try this one out last minute and we were not disappointed. Kabobs were excellent and they have that spicy pepper sauce and garlic paste sauce that I love so much. Would definitely return. Oh we sat outside and it was fine for us because it has not yet gotten Sahara hot in Houston. It’s right on Richmond so keep in mind there will be road noise and traffic.

They have s nice patio and cheap prices. My kids like their fruit smoothies. I’m not a fan of their food personally.

This is a review solely based on the hookah and service. It’s great. Visit this place, the owner and employees are really nice.

Since it was near our apt we stopped by for a quick dinner. Going off the other reviews it seems like a promising place. Truth be told I was not impressed at all. The interior was so-so. Not impressionable. Sat down and looked at the menu. We decided on getting some hummus, the beef schawarma, and the falafel. It took a bit for the food to come out but I do consider there was only 1 chef behind the counter. I’ve always appreciate any restaurant that open their kitchen up because it shows they’re not keeping how they prepare their food behind closed doors. Cleanliness right? Once the food came out we tried it. The falafel didn’t taste like anything. Considering it is fried chickpeas I thought there be a sauce they put in to bring out the taste. Nope. The hummus was so-so. The pita bread though was made there. You can tell. So overall, I wasn’t too impress with this place. We didn’t try the hookah but maybe next time we will try give it a try along with their desserts and tea. The hookah is only $ 10 which is pretty decent. The reason why I’m giving it a 3 star even though it’s really a 2. The price matches the quality. At least they’re not taking your money and running with it. Maybe it’s just my taste buds… maybe it’s just the chef that night.

I just had a chicken shawarma. It was good. Very flavorful. I didn’t give 5 stars because I think the menu could be a little bigger. All people around me seem to be enjoying the place. The music, hookah, etc ! I’ll definitely come back here ! Staff is super friendly

Double Apple Grill is a great new place to have wonderful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food in the Houston area. The place is new, spotlessly clean and the service is friendly and attentive. The food is amazing– we recommend the kafta kabob plate. After a wonderful meal you can hang out with your friends on their beautiful patio and enjoy a hookah and just enjoy the great ambiance. Highly recommend this place. It’s a must-visit!

They were outstanding! The prices are really cheap for what you get and the service is extremely friendly. The tabouleh was really good and did not include couscous which I prefer. We had the chicken schwarma and it was very tasty, even came with fries. We also had be kanufah for dessert which was like a cheese honey soaked cornbread(as best as I can describe it) it was AMAZING and went very well with the Turkish coffee. We will definitely be back!

Double Apple is the nod to their hookah flavor of double apple hookah they serve. I didn’t come here for the food, but judging from other reviews I will have to come back and try it. I came on a Friday evening and was mildly surprised that there were not more people there. They have a huge patio with a big screen showing a foreign sports channel. I elected to get their tea and double apple hookah. Their hookah was pretty good tasting and so was their tea, but my gripe would be how a disposable hose was automatically put onto the hookah which costed an extra $ 1.50. They also gave me extra mouth pieces too so its not like the hose itself would be in direct contact with my lips. So whats the point of charging extra for a disposable one? They also have a guy periodically come around and adjust your coals on top of your hookah, which I thought was great of them for going the distance. Overall, a good mediterranean joint for your needs. Will have to come back to try the food.

Food was amazing. I had the kafta kabob plate and Kobe burger. The kafta kabob was juicy, flavorful. Burger was good size, tasty, flavorful. Also tried the hummus, falafel and salad which were all good. It was zabiha, per owner. New place, would definitely recommend.

my wife and I went late in the evening for some hookah. The Kobe burger was absolutely delicious, probably be my main reason to return back here. Fries however were not included with the burger and I wasn’t a big fan of. We had the double Apple hookah which was excellent. For a Saturday night they were surprisingly not busy. Service was good, the staff is very kind and pleasant. I do think they can do a lot better with the décor and setup of the place. it’s right off of the main road and is a big place with a great patio but all walls are bare and no other decorative item which makes it feel unwelcoming. **note that you will be charged extra for a disposable pipe for your hookah! I love however that they offered us complimentary dessert and Turkish coffee! yummm

I second basically every preceding review. Just had a casual night out with a friend from out of town. We were able to sit and hang out/catch up enjoy our meal and dessert and tea without feeling rushed, and Ibrahim was extremely attentive welcoming and friendly from beginning to end. All staff we encountered were spot on with customer service. I will say initially I was thrown off by the environment. I realize the place opened 6 months ago so I’ll give them time to cozy up the place, but as of now it has a very casual atmosphere with blank painted walls and table/4 chair set up, no booths. The patio looked very inviting and spatious, but it was a little chilly so we stayed inside. The place overall seemed very clean though! We didn’t smoke any hookah but I love the smell(they were smoking inside) and didn’t bother us one bit while we were eating. It seemed very reasonably priced as well. Also, no alcohol as of now but in my opinion it’s not really needed at this point. The food: phenomenal. My friend had the lamb, I had a bite; cooked to perfection. Rice and salad that came with were very good as well. My pregnant self was craving pizza, so I had the pesto chicken arugula. Oh man. Flavor, crust, toppings: perfection. Ibrahim kept the water and tea flowing the entire time and it was a great experience. Then he offered us dessert. I’ve gotten this far, I might as well keep gushing over this place. Kunafeh, I think it was called, is what was recommended, and although we were full already we couldn’t help but eat every bit. Pistachios and cheese with some sweet mixed in? Come on! So good! Okay, happy rant over. Please go and enjoy! This is my first review to actually write but this place deserves the kudos and deserves the business. I was sad to see that it wasn’t busier on a Friday night, so hopefully another good review helps coax you into trying! Cheers!

DAG is a new restaurant next door to Pappadeaux on Richmond. The location is very easy to find. I came here specifically for the hookah but they also serve Mediterranean food. The restaurant is very clean and the owner is awesome. The hookah was better than great, although my friend didn’t care for the flavor I chose and the owner went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. I also ordered a pot of green tea which was served piping hot and in traditional glasses. The women’s bathroom was really clean as well and a major plus in my book.

Food was great, decently priced, and management is fantastic. They took a while giving us our checks so he gave us free tea! However, they charge for bottled water.

Omg this place is awesome!!! You can even buy a disposable hose to take home so awesome. The owner was so amazing and nice. He made sure our hookah was perfect and our waters were filled. Our Turkish coffee was also so so good. We seriously felt like family here. I wish we lived in Texas because this would be our permanent hookah spot. Their hookah and food is so reasonable here. In Vegas a hookah is like 25 $ which is crazy and their Mediterranean food in Vegas is over priced. Not at double apple, double Apple has such amazing prices and food. I wish we were in Texas longer to try everything. I love this place so much!!! Definitely highly recommend this place! A must go to for great hookah, food, and service! Thanks double Apple :)
