Love this place! Charlie is fantastic and knows exactly what I want every time I walk in the door. If you are looking for an upscale place this is not the place for you. It’s definitely a dive but one of the best dives!

Is this place still owned by a couple of old Muse Air /Transtar employees? I used to work for Muse Air(1983 – 1987) and went to a few«reunions» there after they shut down. In Alaska now for 25 years, but miss a good summer crawfish boil at the Cockpit Bar.

Coolest dive-bar and nicest owner Charlie. If you’re hungry he will throw in a frozen pizza and doctor it up. Nothing fancy about this place, just a place to get a cold beer or drink and listen to some good tunes. 6 Stars.

This place is really crappy. New management or not, very lousy. Stopped in for a drink waiting on friends coming in from the airport. THEPLACEISNASTY… I would give it a negative star rating if that was an option.

Well, I hate to hate on this place, but I just had a pretty lame experience. I had some things to drop off with a friend, and decided to stop here because it was about a half hour drive for both of us. We got there right as the place opened at 5:00 and sat at the bar. The bartender, who I’m assuming was the infamous Charlie, told me he’d be right with me. Instead, he stood away from the bar chatting with two cougars who’d wandered over from Jack in the Box. My buddy and I sat there about five feet away from the bartender for a couple of horrible Journey and Styx tunes, got no service and left. But I guess if you’re flying in, it’s not a bad spot to get a couple of St. Arnold’s, Houston’s best local brewery. So long as you’re not competing for attention with any cougs.

The by far best bar around. A must go. The owner is a funny man. I will be back. Support local bars.

Great atmosphere! I met the infamous Charlie, lived up to all the expectations supplied by other Unilocalers! Good local beer on tap but you gotta ask. Charlie had great recommendations and knew exactly what I wanted. Love this hole in the wall!!!

The bartender, Charlie, was completely delightful. And he bakes a killer frozen pizza, as advertised. It’s a dive, but a fun one. Easy walk from Doubletree.

Charlie the bartender was friendly and laid back. Didn’t eat here so no comments on the food but the atmosphere is fun. Don’t expect the world but you’ll be fine here with sucking down some suds!!! Cheers!

Great stop when you’re stuck in the airport hotel. Quick walk from the doubletree. Friendly bartenders and cheap cold beer. Can’t speak to the food, but it looked like frozen pizzas, which are awesome…

I like this place for the lack of pretentiousness. Unassuming, regular working stiff place to grab a beer. Bartender/owners regular joes too. If I had to say anything for improvement it would be the food. Urp. Frozen pizza is a gut bomb that rusted out the bottom of my cast iron gut.

It’s a dive. There’s nothing that makes me want to throw in some extra stars; the food was A-OK, the service was A-OK, the drinks were A-OK. But you get what you want, yes? A proper dive! Though, it’d be hugely important they replace the dart board and darts-they’re so cheap you’ve got be throwing at the speed of an ascending 737 to get them to stick. Feel free to get your dive fix but don’t expect any frills!

I stopped in here on a whim, just killing time on a Houston Hobby-area pub crawl. It’s the quintessential airport dive bar. The owner was behind the bar and made me feel he was glad I stopped by. A small place with a cozy feel to it. I was drinking $ 2 PBRs because I just didn’t care anymore. A pool table, an Internet juke box… a non-descript kind of place really. Did I mention they have Rolling Rock on tap?

The owners have turned this place in to somewhere worth checking out again — good drinks, a couple pool tables, and an eclectic mix of music. The bar staff can get a little distracted sometimes but I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the newness… for now.
