They keep saying it’s 3 floors but it’s really only 3 hallways… No dance floor and very annoying cuz somebody’s always walking past you and bumping into you… Its hot and smells like armpits… Needless to say not going there ever going

My friend and I decided to give this club a try based on the outdated reviews posted on here…“Great Idea” right? … NOT! We were lucky enough to find a free street parking space near the club. We walked in around 11:30 pm and to our surprise the first floor was empty. The only people there were the cashier, bartender, barback, my friends and I. So we decided to move on to the second floor. The floor looked nice a bit narrow and there were benches against the wall, the DJ was playing good music not bad or great but good. There was a bit more people on the second floor but no one I mean NOONE was dancing!!! we questioned if we were really at a club. Everyone was sitting on the benches and they all looked bored. We decided to check out the third floor but one of the staff members told us it was closed. :-\… We bought a badly made cherry vodka sour served on the rocks and the price for that was $ 6.49… Lol I just thought that was hilarious. We also bought a $ 4 bud light and a $ 10 dollar cover fee. This place was definitely not worth my time or money. This review was based on a Friday night outing… Might be different on a Saturday night but I will not return to find out. I think it’s mediocre and overpriced. But after all it is a 18 and up club.

I went here because midtown has started to get pretty ghetto at the majority of the clubs and we were really tired of the Washington Ave. scene, so we decided to give Downtown Houston a try. Overall, I had a great time here. Good bottle prices(although I would say that booking in advance probably would have been better for us since all the tables were taken), good staff, all the dj’s on all levels played a variety of music and kept it fresh. I liked it. Tip for the ladies out there: some of the bathrooms do not lock — take a buddy with you when going to the restroom to guard your door.

I went to Proxima on a saturday night first time never been there. entrance was free for ladies… I was sad that I was missing the fight but they have the boxing match on all screens on the first floor which i thought was pretty cool… the first floor had a very nice detailed lay out but the bar had horrible service… There’s three floors to enjoy .each section has its on theme. First floor was more like a Latin feel with bachata and reggeton. Second floor was playing the current hot hits and hip hop. Cool music But it was so pack!!! I had to step outside several times to catch some air… Third floor was a mixture of all music… The club has like these narrow stair ways that get you from one club to the other which I believe are super dangerous. It definitely was a work out my legs are still hurting lol… If you had too many drinks please guarantee you will bust your face down the stairs … The crowd was nice but I felt like I was at surrounded by youngsters… omg a bunch of bumping and grinding lol… Nice experience.

This place is good to go to. It is 3 stories in one which is the same club but different djs one each floor. The first floor seems to be mainly latin music from reggaeton to salsa and some merengue. The second floor is mainly hip hop and rap but the dj slips in some reggaeton every now and then. 3rd floor is upbeat remixed hip hop and latin music. The club is a little small on space with the 3rd floor as the smallest. 1st floor is the coolest but 2nd floor gets packed and hot, 3rd floor is somewhat comfortable though. Great atmosphere were u can let loose but bring enough $$ for drinks because the drinks are very pricey…$ 4 for bottled beer, $ 8 for a shot of patron and randomly during the night patron drops to $ 5 for a very limited time though. A bit of advice if your looking for Proxima… ur not gonna find it as «Proxima» in google or yahoo maps becuase its a.k.a. «Club Next» which ‘Proxima’ means ‘Next’ in spanish. The reason for this because it is «Club Next» but turns into«Proxima» on saturdays to attract the latin young adult crowd but evryone is welcomed. This club is 21+ guys 18+ ladies which the main age groups seen here were mainly 18 to 25. The dress code is strict so leave ur tennis shoes and tshirts at home. Parking is limited but you can park by the spaghetti warehouse for $ 10 per car untill morning or at the other parking lots walking distance to the club. You can also park along the street but good luck finding a parking spot for blocks. If you park by the spaghetti warehouse be sure to lock your car because there are bums sleeping under the bridge 100 feet from the lot. This reveiw was made based on an experience on a Saturday Night.
