People-watching is a major component of shopping for me; of course, it’s also a good indicator of whether the place sells things – particularly clothes – that I would be interested in. Chico’s sells what I would consider work clothes for women thirty-five and up. They also have a unique sizing system – there are only 4 sizes(0, 1, 2, 3) which run the gamut of ladies from 0 – 18. Which is kind of nice, because if you gain or lose 5 pounds you can still wear the apparel you have of theirs. I love their casual tops, sweaters(for work), and jackets. That’s about it for me – the other stuff just isn’t my style. Cut and fabric are light for those items, so wearing them doesn’t add bulk! A comment on the tops, which are a wardrobe staple of mine: good, comfortable V-neck tees which is a great wardrobe staple. They aren’t terribly good for layering with things other than jackets, however. A great selection of colors and the cut is a nice tapered feminine shape – I find other places make them too boxy, without enough definition for the waist. This is one of the smaller Chico’s stores, though they pretty much cover the bases of the seasonal collection. It’s just that for some of the less common items it’s kind of a roll of the dice if they have it or not. It’s good enough to get ideas, though, for you to run to another store to try it on. I know with their business model they can order it for you, but I’m more of an impulse buyer. Looks good, fits, in your budget = BUYNOW
