On weekends, they serve shwarma. By eleven am, they are all gone. Get a chicken or beef shwarma and one of their think pizzas. The best Arabic bakery in town… excellent!

Dear god why hadn’t I heard about this place before? Why??? I came here on a Sunday to check out the Shwarma but was easily distracted by other patrons pizza like dishes. I love pizza and since I had never had one of this variety I scratched plan A out and proceeded to Plan B, order that pizza. There were so many to choose from but I decided to go with a cheese one and a falafel pizza. Dont worry I totally shared most of it but you better believe I could have eaten both of them. They were so cheesy and carbilicious I could just not get enough. We also ordered beef shwarma and it was delicious but come on Im mexican thats totally al pastor style, I digress. Everything about this place was great the food and employees were just top notch. I must say though that the name is off putting. I have been driving by this place and never stopped because the name, at least to me, suggests a bakery. I am glad I finally decided to stop upon recommendation of my friend who is my resident expert in Shwarmas. I definitely recommend this place!

While for the basic za’atar and cheese, I still prefer Abdallah’s because of the slight difference in the dough itself. But that’s not to knock off this place — this place churns out tasty Lebanese manakish/pizzas/pies! And the popularity of the place shows — when I came in, it was packed, tables full, and people waiting to take out. That oven never had a minute of rest for the entire time I was there. Their pies are still one of the best in Houston, and I’ve known them ever since they started off in a small bakery by Bellaire and Highway 6. They grew and grew, and kept growing still. Their variety for the manaqish are still unparalleled, with toppings of sujuk, labneh, harhoura(veggies), cheese, meat, kafta, halloum(seems to be popular), shawarma(beef and chicken) and more being available. They have an impressive 20 different toppings to choose from! So come for the mana2sh(yes, I’ve written the spelling in three different ways already). They also have sambusik which I haven’t tried but seems to be popular. And also the kunafa that they make in-house were gone when I arrived — so that’s something I’m going to have to try next time. They also started selling something called mashrouha or mashrooha which isn’t exactly a popular name in the US — but these are larger and thinner manaqish. If the dough for mashrouha is more to my liking, then I’m afraid Abdallah’s going to have to run for their money. This place is a must for every Lebanese-pie lovers out there.

FANTASTIC, everything in here reminds me of back home, even the smell! I think the staff are very nice people, specially Hamoudah the bakery. Pries wise is a little bet high, but it’s fine I’ll keep coming and keep spending my money in here because it’s so yummy… Guys, keep up the fabulous service.

What a fun, local shop – it really has the feeling of a family-run business(though I’m not sure if that’s the case). We had the meat Lebanese pizza and a beef shawarma wrap, both which were delicious. The Lebanese pizza is personal-sized, and has very thin crust(almost tortilla thin), and, at least on the meat pizza that we had, there’s no tomato sauce, just meat, cheese, crust and a few veggies. The beef shawarma is like a wrap, but with pita-like bread, meat and onions and pepper. It’s kind of like a burrito, except with no cheese or rice. Very good. And the price was right: one pizza, one shawarma and two water bottles for $ 10. If I lived closer, I would come here often for a quick lunch.

The restaurant itself is pretty humble but the food is great and the bread is really good. I usually have a zaatar and cheese manakeesh.

This is the classical Lebanese bakery, it’s unassuming with its plastic tables and chairs, no frills, nothing… they’re not there to entertain you, they’re there to bake delicious baked goods! And what better way to start the day than with a Mankoushe: dough with either zaatar(thyme, roasted sesame seeds, and olive oil), cheese, or with meat, tomatoes and onions(ok, this one is more lunch oriented, and it is called Lahem bi ajeen which literally translates to meat in dough). I got 2 of each(mind you, they’re big, you don’t need more than one) because I was taking these with me to Dallas, and they still taste great after freezing them and thawing/heating them a month or so later! All 3 different types were fantastic, and tasted super authentic! I would have breakfast there everyday if I could, and try everything else they have. Definitely a must try!

Fresher than fresh. Cheese baked atop a freshly made flat bread/pizza dough but that’s not all this place serves. They’ve got different kinds of savory pies, hot and cold beverages, wraps. But what keeps coming back is their Zaatar bread it’s this amazing aroma of fresh baked bread with olive oil and zaatar spices that has kept my tastebuds happy. Cedar bakery you make my heart happy! Brings back so much memory of a similar style bakery my father and I used to wake up early to go to back in our country. Absolutely delicious pies, flat breads, and wraps made here. Bravo Cedars !

Best Middle Eastern bakery, most authentic shawerma very similar to shawerma in Lebanon. I wish they could do the shawerma every day of the week instead of weekdays only. Love the cheese bread and everything reminds me of home.

Hands down, one of the most delicious and flavorful flatbreads I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! A satisfying lunch for 2 totaled out to just shy of $ 16, yet the experience was priceless… My beau and I were starved and were shooting out ideas for lunch. As if a lightbulb appeared over his head, he said he knew just the place! I trusted his judgement, as the last hole in the wall joint he brought me to was heaven on earth! About 15 minutes later, we arrived at Cedars Bakery, and were instantly greeted by a tantalizing aroma of freshly baked bread and spices. After a once over on the menu,(cleverly printed above the counter for easy reference), I selected 2 flatbreads: the harhoura veggie, & parsley-cheese. Adam ordered his usual of harhoura veggie, & a kafta flatbread. There was plenty of seating to choose from and a help-yourself style drink area. After a minimal wait time, our order was ready. The ingredients were fresh, starring juicy tomatoes, red & green peppers, onions, cheese, and a dash of Lebanese spices for a nice kick. The dough was the best part: incredibly light, airy, and beautifully colored. They bake in a stone hearth oven, which is how the dough stays crispy and tastes so damn good! As if someone read our minds, there was a red bottle of chili sauce on our table, which complimented the spices and enhanced the flavors perfectly. We paid and left, all the while receiving adequate service. Do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch, as you will not be disappointed! 5 stars can be achieved if they were to clean more, perhaps start with wiping the tables after each guest leaves, cleaning the condiments off… just a suggestion.

The line was not well organized. A guy came after us was served before us because he knows someone inside. Food is above average but service suck especially the cashier. MAKESUREYOUDOUBLECHECKYOURRECEIPT/ASK FORRECEIPTCAUSETHEYWILLCHARGEYOUFORTHINGSTHATYOUDIDN’T ORDER. I’m not sure if that was intentional but we were charged way more than what we ordered.

Oh amazing, everything I can imagine in a traditional arabic bakery here in the US. Everything is nice and decently priced. It’s very fresh and hits the spot any day of the week. Everyone who works here is very sweet and the atmosphere is just right. I recommend any of the cheese or meat«breads» and don’t forget to come before 4 as it closes at that time!

I LOVE this restaurant! They have awesome pizzas — cheese with zaatar, spinach with cheese, veggie, and meat. They also have great fresh baked breads and pasties. We have taken many different people to try this restaurant and everyone loves this place!
