Got the Cowboy Burger. Excellent tasting burger. I would definently recommend this one. My wife got the Boca Burger. It has a huge veggie patty and huge amount of avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions. She loved it. Food was great. Only draw back was the long lines at the bar to order the food and drinks. They were very crowded, you would think they would have more than two bartenders. Once ordered the food did come out very fast thought. I will definently go back.

Love, love, love this place! There are not a lot of places like this in NYC, where you go stand in a line to order and then wander around looking for a place to sit. It was kind of interesting, but on a busy day, it can be a little stressful. I went with a large group of friends after the Houston Marathon(a couple of us ran the half and deserved our beers and fried pickles) and we had a great afternoon. The line to order was long… took us about a half hour to order. Luckily we had been able to scope out seats and retired to a sunny table with our beers. Food came out very quickly. I had fish tacos that were excellent. The fried pickles were very good, but a little spicy, which is fine by me. However, I was burping them up several hours later(not as tasty the second time). The ladies who took orders at the counter for beer and food were nice. I loved the vibe of this place and found it very relaxing. Definitely would go back.

We’ve been here 35 minutes — no service yet. Asked a waitress who was near by to help out and her response was: «I’ve been here for 12.5 hours — my shift is done.»(Skinny blonde working inside). We ended up going straight to the bar to order where we were told they only have two girls working tables tonight — I find that either hard to believe or management needs to reevaluate their business model. Who assigns two girls to work on a Saturday night when you’ve got 120+ customers waiting? Bad first impression… Let’s see how the food turns out to be.

This is an ok place to gather with friends. The service is fair and the bartender knows how to mix a good drink. The parking is kinda all over the place… The building has the old feel of an out of the way ice house, however there needs to be some major improvements to the structure itself. All in all an ok place, worth a try. Peace Unilocalers!

Always a good choice. Great outdoor seating and good beer selection. Food is a great value. Enjoy!

I love coming here with large groups of friends because they have big tables, don’t care how long you stay, you can be loud, good food and a bar! My favorite items are the fried pickles, chips and queso, burger and fries! Waitstaff is friendly and helpful which is alway good! Only downside is parking can be hard on weekends even though there’s a big parking lot.

Cedar Creek. This place is an institution for the Heights. When the weather is cool it is one of the cities best patios and when it’s hot the inside is always cold. Ask for Nicole, she will take good care of you from behind the bar. Several years now and she never disappoints. The good is really good too. Pig Frys are some of the best fries I have ever had. Great pulled pork and queso on top of a huge bowl of french fries. I also really love their Al pastor quesadillas. Pulled pork, pineapple, grilled onions and cheese. OMG. If you’re looking for a great neighborhood bar, come check this place out. You will be very happy that you did

Ceder Creek is right down the street from our house, and our favorite place to take friends and family who come visit us for the weekend. The food is tasty, the drinks are delicious, and the staff is wonderful. The inside is a cozy — with mismatched tables and chairs, eclectic décor, and great music. The outside is where you will find us(weather permitting). String lights, benches, TVs, fire pits and plenty of space! They have a great mix of small and large tables, so this is a wonderful place to go with large groups! You will always find a wonderful mix of people here. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. The food is legit for being a ‘bar’, you must try the Loredo Burger, I have to stop myself from eating this as often as I wish I could … it is AMAZING. They have a great selection of local brewed beers, and fantastic daily specials. Definitely worth a visit! The ONLY downside is that they are not dog friendly, which isn’t their fault — so we can’t be too upset about it! ;)

Relatively large venue, with fairly plentiful parking, tasty food, and drinks! I also love Onion Creek, but perhaps a bit more love here since I’ve never had trouble parking. Food: Great place to meet friends since ordering is at the counter and you get a number; everyone has their own ticket and can come as early or late as they please. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything here I didn’t like. A general southwest American feel to the menu — wings, enchiladas, burgers, chips and queso. Chicken tenders are great, daily specials which are tasty, there are cupcakes and churro donuts for dessert! They used to have fruit as a side, which I greatly miss, but other than that, I’m quite pleased! Drinks: I like your stereotypical girly drinks, and Cedar Creek does well with a full bar, special cocktails and frozen drinks like mimosas. I’ve had the BerryMule several times and really like. And there’s plenty of beer on tap for my friends. Water is self-service, which I like — have as much or as little as you need. Atmosphere: Overall rustic/divey feel. I’ve never gone outside, but there is one, and it’s got a creek, a fire pit, and homey feel. Inside has 7 or so TVs, kitchsy décor, and is nice and open which makes for good trivia night.

My husband & I stop in for a drink and sit at the bar! The female bartender says«I can help you over here», my husband has to get up & go to another part of the bar for her to take our order. We figure we won’t get service where we are sitting so we move to a table. 5 minutes later another couple sits where we original sat and guess what she waits on them… we are annoyed at this point and ask her why she wouldn’t wait on us at the bar… Her answer was I thought you were going to order food!!! What??? What does that have to do with anything & she assumed and didn’t ask! How annoying! Needless to say it’s the first time my husband didn’t tip & he usually very generous! What a disappointment!

Definitely has that Austin/Hill County vibe as others have stated. Bartender made some really nice Lemon Drop Martini’s for me. We had a group Happy Hour for a friend leaving our company and this place was spacious and had a fun, festive atmosphere. I ordered the Fish Tacos, which had a great flavor & nice quantity for the price. Parking lot spacing is a little bit weird and hard to navigate, but it was ample.

This is a brunch review. Cedar Creek is a great breakfast/brunch option if you wake up early on the weekends too hungry to wait for 11am. Ordering at the bar is a convenient way to get your food fast so you can relax and enjoy the morning sun on their giant outdoor patio. Primarily a bar, Cedar Creek has a great selection of brunch cocktails. The frozen mimosas are fun for brunch in addition to being essential for hot summer afternoons. Served in pint glasses, it’s a great accompaniment to the potato, chorizo, egg, and queso stuffed hangover cure bowl. Though they may lack a serious punch, there’s always the option to add a potent floater. I’m certainly not the first to say it, but maybe one more voice to the chorus will change the Creek Group minds: As someone who lives within walking distance, I would frequent Cedar Creek if I could hang out with my pooches on that awesome patio and probably start planning work happy hours here, too. Everything else is five star worthy, especially the great bartenders and jukebox.

I have been to this restaurant several times and it is generally the same general fair and feel as the rest of the creek restaurants. The atmosphere is Texas Hill Country and this one has a stage for some live music. At times, the music is fun but then other times just too country for my tastes. I do love the patio on nice weather days. Honestly, the patio is the best part of this restaurant. I enjoy sipping on a drink while the breeze blows by. With the right weather conditions, this is a great place to go and just chill for a bit. I have found the food is generally a mixed bag in terms of quality. Sometimes I get a dish that I found good, not amazing, but good. Other times I get things that are bad, not inedible, but bad. For instance, the wings, or «wangs» as they call them, were just not that good. I was hungry so I ate them but I wouldn’t order them again. I like my wings spicy, these were not spicy at all even though I ordered their spiciest sauce. I had to use Tabasco sauce to make them palatable to me. Other times I went, the food was good but nothing spectacular or really that noteworthy. The food is just general southern fried stuff with a bit of a trendy spin on them, like a trendy and younger Luby’s or Treebeards. The food is good for a simple evening out, but I wouldn’t seek this place out for the food. Overall, I find the place adequate. Nothing terribly special except for the outdoor patio, but not bad to the point I wouldn’t go again with friends. The full bar is nice and adds to the experience. Some menu items are good, but I don’t come here for the food.

I come here often because it’s a really fun place to meet friends and have a drink or get some food. I’ve always been infatuated with their spinach artichoke dip and frozen mimosas! I came last night though and the dip was not nearly as good as its been in the past, it was runny. I’m gonna give it another chance though cause the 5 times before it’s always been great! The frozen mimosa’s are wonderful and they’ve got a large selection of beer and drinks so have at it! The brunch here is pretty great too, my friend really loves their ranchero omelette and says it’s the best in the city! So try that, cause I’ve had it too and ya, she’s right it’s dang good! Crawfish season is fun here too! Trivia on Mondays nights. Just go on already!

We sat on the patio on a nice fall evening in Houston(yes, we have nice weather). It was honestly like we were in a small town or on a country road. Very laid back. We had a couple craft beers and started with the hummus which was very good. After looking over the menu, we took Unilocaler suggestions and both got the Cowboy burger. It really was as good as everyone said. Overall, I would definitely return and try out more from the menu. On a nice evening of course.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this place after finding it on a list of «Houston’s Best Places to Dine on a patio.» Although it was a bit of drive, and the parking situation is a bit odd, I’d say it was worth it. When you arrive at this destination, don’t sit down at your table, because there are no servers; you must go inside, place your order at the bar, and you will receive a number that you can then take to your table. Someone will bring your food out, but the down side is that no one comes out to check and see if you need refills. So, suggestion is don’t dine alone, because you’ll have to leave your food unattended or risk losing your table(which during game-times, could be a huge let down) The burgers– priced from $ 10-$ 12 each– definitely don’t disappoint in terms of amount of meat. The taste– although above average, just falls short of excellent. It’s good, but that’s about all I can say about it. The frito pie, sets at $ 6.50, although for a dollar more, you can add sour cream and jalepenos, serves as a good appetizer or side. It could use a bit more chili though. All in all, I liked the place. No real complaints. If you’re looking for a nice patio to dine out on, this is a good place to go.

This is just a cool place with great food. It was such a nice day, so this was the perfect day to eat outside, and they have great outdoor seating as well. I had the cowboy burger… Quality beef, bacon, a fried egg, a guacamole sauce(I think) and good fries… How can you go wrong with that. My co-workers salads looked amazing too! Service was great too by the way, as you order at the bar. The funny thing, is there is a sign that says, welcome to the Hill Country… With me being an Austinite. Next time I’m in Houston, I’m coming back here.

This is a great hangout spot! We just moved to a house in the heights and we’re looking for places to ride for a beer and nice lunch. We stopped in here today and we’re pleasantly surprised at the service! This is a chain to onion creek, but seems so much more chillaxed than the onion. I got the goat cheese salad with grilled chicken and my mate got the club. We literally got the food within 10 – 15 minutes! I can’t determine if that’s a good or bad thing, but we both loved our food so I don’t care! The lemon vinaigrette dressing is divine! It’s actually crave worthy. The beer selection is decent and the frozen mimosas are on point We will definitely be back !

I really basked in the rustic feel of this place. The outdoor patio is partially covered & large. There was music playing & a TV showing a game of some sort. I can imagine this place gets loud when it’s busy. The indoor is filled with dark wood & neon lights. Great spot to meet up with a group of friends. Parking is available & easy to access. I started off with the frozen moon which is half frozen margarita & half blue moon beer which I loved! Great beer selection & the bartender was really quick at taking our order. I had just had a huge brunch so I wasn’t hungry but I’ve heard great stuff about the food here.

Hill-country-like bar/restaurant tucked away among trees, a small creek, and decked out with rustic décor. This place is a great place for brunch and afternoon drinking. For brunch I had a spinach, tomato, and cheese omelette with salsa verde sauce and homefries and an iced latte = AHh-Mazing. The latte was so fresh and good it didn’t need any sweetener. Suggestion: When choosing between lunch/dinner menu and brunch, BRUNCHITUP and make sure to go before 11:30am which is when it seems to really pick up. They seem to do it right more for brunch than other times of the day for food. Also, when choosing between the grits and homefries, ALWAYS go for homefries. I’ve also had their famous frozen Country Ass Tea and frozen mimosas, both are made from a frozen drink maker so they come out perfect every time I come. The Country Ass Tea is VERY strong so one will have you buzzin. The mimosas have the perfect blend of orange and champagne. The best part about this place has to be the atmosphere. It is quiet and fun for groups, dates, or just to get away and pretend you’re in a small hill-country town for a little while. A few improvements would make this a perfect place: I wish they had more umbrellas for their outside tables because it does get very hot without one and there is limited shady spots. Also, their process of ordering/delivering food is really inefficient. I wish they had buzzers that went off when your order was ready and you went to get it at the bar yourself. It would save a lot of time and confusion which has caused our food to arrive cold and late a few times simply because the food carrier couldn’t find our table/number.
