honestly, there is no much food choice at UH!the food is OK compare to UC and Satellite。

The few times I’ve been here have been quite pleasant. The staff is very friendly and the food quality and price is reasonable. The drinks are great I highly recommend the mango green tea it is very refreshing! They have a great selection of food and you definitely get your moneys worth with the portions they give you. Not to mention their happy hour prices, their sushi happy hour is definitely a bargain. Would definitely come back again and since I’m a student at uh its super convenient.

Grabbed a business lunch here. It gets packed during peak hours, not to be a creeper or anything, but it’s a great people watching location, You can see which groupie has the grad students, which group is faculty, who are the facilities guys, and of course the jovial undergrads. Ahhh, reminds me of college. Great years of my life. U of H has really accelerated in its growth, programs, and infrastructure over the past few years. All buildings are modern and new and they currently have over 35000 students and faculty enrolled! Oh the food, it’s alright. Not terrible for $ 8.

I don’t have much to say about this Café 101 other than the last time I went they served me Honey Sesame chicken that was completely pink and undercooked in the middle. It was a nightmare. They were nice enough to make a second plate for me when I complained, but still… that was just such a glaring mistake. That being said, I do love their drink menu. I would never eat there again but I’d feel fine ordering a Sky Diving any day.

Café 101 has decent food, but can get very crowded at busy times. The staff is nice and the food comes out quickly. The atmosphere is modern and a little loud. They have several different types of Boba tea, sushi, and other Chinese food. I have had the Teriyaki beef special. It’s a good amount of food for a decent price. If you have 30 minutes go ahead and try it out.

This is one of the best dining options on campus, given the moderate prices and the quality of food. Usually they also give plenty of food so that you will not have to worry about your next meal! We have been here a number of times and the food has always been pretty good. They also have quite a few happy hour specials.

Place is ok if you want a quick bite to eat and want to watch a sports game or two. I usually get the General Tso chicken. The service is pretty good. Its ran by UH students of course. I do like that they are caught up with technology. They have an app and if you check in with Unilocal and so fourth. They do have bear and wine and things. Maybe one thing they could add is better interior. Compared to the one in Chinatown. I know that the one there has better interior but in return the service is sub par. It is convenient though The food is good. The employees are awesome. But there is always room for improvement. Ive been going to UH since 2011 so I’m pretty proud of UH. For bringing this restaurant here, Thanks guys.

The sushi is okay they have a very small selection but since its on campus it is great when I have the urge to eat some salmon or eel roll. I like the new app they have where you can visit 6 times and get a free boba next time.

We came at 4pm on a Thurs and the place was packed! Probably cuz it’s close to campus. Food is alright. Decent price, not amazing taste. I wouldn’t called their fried rice, «fried rice». More like soy sauce mixed rice. Love the drinks though! So I will come back for the drinks, not the food. It’s a good place to hang and chill with friends. I wouldn’t recommend studying here when it’s busy cuz the place is pretty tight and noise level is definitely high. Tables are close together so you can overhear conversations that you don’t want to be apart of. Parking is a pain. There was no more space left so we had to park a 10 minute walk away.

I came here for lunch twice, their food is not impressively delicious but not bad neither. Although their portion size is not as big as Chinese Star nor the one on Bellaire. I found out most of their fish dishes are just fried fish fillet swam in different kinds of gravy, they all taste pretty good. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp today, there were lots of shrimp and they tasted pretty mediocre. However my steam rice was undercooked. Casher who took my order seems still under training but she is pretty nice and my food was ready in short time. I don’t have much complain as Café 101 is still more authentic than Panda Express, their price is not bad as well. I would come back again if I ever come to UH.

Ate here for dinner tonight and my experience was okay. Food doesn’t have an authentic taste and portion size for the price paid is less than expected. Good and affordable place for students. I ordered a take out for the Kung paid chicken with fried rice. Price is 7.85 no tax included. Food comes with a 3 – 4 inch long spring roll and couple pieces of chipa. Amount of rice given is very small, seems like 1 spoonful of rice. Kung pao chicken is sautéed with tomatoes, red chili pepper, celery, bell pepper and soy sauce. Overall this place is affordable and if you don’t small portion sizes then this is a nice place for you to eat at, otherwise try the Chinese star restaurant. They have a much more generous portion size for take outs.

I used to come here all the time when I was still in school. I hate to say it but this place isnt as good as it used to be when it first opened. Having tried quite a large portion of the menu, I can say for the most part the food is average. I do like their noodles and 101 special fried rice though, it’s pretty good. They also got lunch specials so if you’re into saving money that’s another plus for you my friend(3⁄5) As far as drinks go its a mixed bag. It’s kind of inconsistent — sometimes it’s super sweet, sometimes the tea is really bitter etc. but on the good days the drinks are not bad at all.(3.5÷5) The place has a chill vibe and the people that work here are really nice too, so that’s always good(can’t say the same for the bellaire one)(5⁄5) If you’re ever on this side of campus you should come check it out. Fun fact: back when I lived at the lofts, café 101 took alot of my money

I’ve never been to the bellaire location, so I don’t have much to compare it to but I really liked this place. It seems perfect for a student, with inexpensive meals and all kinds of mocktails to keep you wired. They have a great general Tso’s chicken. With meals less than $ 10, you really can’t go wrong.

Ok Brian… You need to quite playing and put the new Korean Chicken Wings on the menu as an entrée. They are ridiculously delicious. The crispy skin and the wonderful tangy sauce taste better than any wings at Wing Stop, BWWs or even Hooters. To me they taste like the Korean Fried Chix in Chinatown. Work it out please. Just whatever you do don’t take them off the menu PLZ

I’ve never dined at the bellaire location so I will not be making comparisons. I will say that the food here is above average for UH dining. This is a like your one stop asian food shop complete with milk teas. I must say that I was really hungry and the menu just made me want to order everything that sounded good. I knew I wanted to try the kimchi fries because A) i love french fries B) i love kimchi. I also settled on the kimchi noodles. I have a feeling if they would have added kimchi to just about anything, I would be tempted to order. The kimchi noodles arrived piping hot to the table and I must say they were definitely delicious. Imagine low mein and Kimchi blended together beautifully if I may add. The fries were pretty awesome as well I mean you cant really get that wrong! You would think that this was the end of my meal but I must say, like any normal person, I was tempted by the milk tea. I simply had to have the thai tea which was one of the best I have ever tasted!!! If you are on campus stop by this location, if you are not go to the Bellaire location, I hear it is better than this one!

Not too shabby for a campus joint. It’s definitely not better than the location in Bellaire, but it’s fitting & definitely satisfy my cravings. Lol, it’s college! I wouldn’t expect everything to be top notch & perfect. — Japanese Curry Nuggets(3⁄5): The curry was pretty runny & bland when I had it the first time. The nuggets were good. It got better the second time; thicker & more flavor. I like the fried rice & won ton strips they serve as sides. — Pineapple Shrimp(4⁄5): Okay, so nothing can beat the Japanese Curry Nuggets in Bellaire’s location. But this is the best entrée I’ve had HERE. The shrimp were big, crispy, creamy, & pineapple-y. — Fried Squid(3⁄5): Eh, decent. It’s not the same but it wasn’t bad either. Love their dipping sauce. I’m very appreciative with the friendlier service they offer here. More so than Bellaire’s location, of course. But overall, food wasn’t too bad.

Pretty much like the 101 on Bellaire, IMO. The only difference is service. UH101 has way better service than Bellaire, so I’m thankful for that. Polite at the register(probably why service is better since they don’t actually wait on you here), polite when the bring your food to you, all that jazz. But the food and the drinks are too similar to really care, all«meh». I ordered two honey green teas, one half sweet and one regular. The ‘lite’ tasted like no honey at all): It was bitter. And the regular tasted ‘lite’. But, oh well, better bitter than too sweet for me. The Kung Pao Chicken on their lunch menu tastes like generic American Chinese food. It’s just really convenient now when I’m craving for some tea.

The food is very underwhelming here. I ordered sushi one day and my fish tasted very fishy(not the good kind of fishy). I suggest maybe staying away from their Japanese options. The drinks are pretty good, but never anything amazing. Good refreshment when I’m craving something fruity. I wouldn’t say that I’ll ever go out of my way to dine here though if I wasn’t on campus.

I feel that 101 on campus is really convenient for students but that’s it. There’s nothing too special about this place. It’s not better or worse than the Bellaire location, so it could be a tie. There’s something about 101(UH and Bellaire location) that never really appealed to me, but I have to admit bubble teas are good. They can do better with the food quality though. I ordered the Kimchi udon because the one in Bellaire makes it pretty good. When I received my plate, it looked really good but the first bite quickly disappointed me. The kimchi in the udon was gross. It wasn’t really kimchi and it lacked a lot of flavor. The plate was a bit greasy and I didn’t finish the plate. Not worth your money. I did notice this location was clean and plenty of places to sit, so I have to give them some credit(kudo points there). Overall, this place serves decent food. I would return just for their drinks and HH.

I’ll give a star for it being super convenient for students. I’ll give another star for satisfying my craving for tapioca drinks and fushion fries. Other than that, this place is not worth coming to. In my opinion, it was taken over and became a whitewashed version of the café 101 in Bellaire. Café 101 or any tapioca drink place is known for customizing drinks and whatnot, right? Wrong. I always get Heineken free tea with lychee jelly. This time, I ordered it and they told me we can’t add that because you can’t drink alcoholic drinks through a straw. Umm, I’ve always ordered it before so I don’t understand why we can’t add it now? Then she stated that they can’t customize alcoholic drinks. On top of that, they didn’t have anymore Heineken so I ordered it with Corona. Next, my friend ordered the chicken nuggets appetizer and asked for a side of fried rices. The cashier rung him up for the chicken nuggets entrée which was an extra $ 2.50. He didn’t want the extra eggroll and wonton chips. So our food came out very fast, I’ll give them props to that. However, our drinks were very disappointing. The corona green tea was HALF foam. HALF. Not a little bit of foam, but HALF. Complete ripoff. I’ve just been overall unsatisfied with café 101. I’d only come back for tapioca cravings.
