Love the vibe here, the people that work here are alway super nice. The menu changes with the fresh things they get inc so it’s always a nice surprise to have different choices. Their food combinations are very creative and I like that. I eat here often. Say hi if you see me.

The food was decent although my eggs benedict was served luke warm. The cappuccino was bitter but the design on the milk froth was nice. The table was wobbly but the patio had a nice vibe.

I have been coming to Brasil for many years. The food has always been very good. Try the pizza with figs and prosciutto. I like the lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The décor is eclectic. There is a lot of space and two outdoor seating areas. All the coffee drinks I have ever tried have been perfect. Lately, the customer service has been much better. A few months ago, I walked in and the young woman behind the counter talked to me like a normal person. I said to her, «in all the years I have been coming here, no employee has ever talked to me as much as you.» She seemed surprised. The last time I visited, I was greeted by two people behind the counter. This is one of my favorite places in Houston and it always will be.

I recently had lunch at Brazil Café. My party had three people, and the wait was not long at all for a Wednesday afternoon. I ordered the Chicken Verde Pizza on a gluten free crust. The description on the menu reads as: Mozzarella and manchego cheese, topped with basil, parsley, arugula, and chive en salata. The pizzas run between $ 12 – 14 a piece and it is an additional $ 3 to get a gluten free crust. I do not think the pizza is very filling for $ 16, as it is a personal sized, but the pizza does taste great. I have also tried the Fig & Prosciutto before, and highly recommend that option. It was unusual for what I am used to when it comes to traditional pizza toppings, but an excellent combination, none the less. It is best to go with a few people and share 3 – 4 dishes amongst the group. That way you can get a taste of everything and be full at the end of lunch! If you are in the area and do not mind paying $ 16 for a gluten free personal pizza, I would try Brazil Café for your next lunch/dinner!

The food was awesome — We had the crostini appetizer and the black bean burger with a house salad. The house salad was delicious with blue cheese and pecans, ten times better than what you would expect for a side salad. Unfortunately the service needs a little work. We didn’t mind waiting to order at the counter, but even when we got up to order it took probably 8 – 10 minutes for the waitress to figure out how to ring up our foods. And they were out of several draft beers the we ordered. Street parking was a little frustrating, but a patient patron will see that there’s lots of potential for Brasil!

Good coffee and atmosphere Owner is extremely rude. I was meeting business people for coffee and he asked us to move tables twice and then made a snarky comment that we weren’t ordering food and that his establishment was a restaurant. I will never be back.

Enjoyed a great lunch, beer, and coffee outside on the patio, while studying for a couple of hours. I was asked if i wanted anything else by the waiter whom has been working there for over 25 years who then explained that I am occupying to much space, because of the prime outdoor seating. I asked him, «if he was serious?» and he proceeded to tell me that this was prime seating for others. I guess I am not a paying customer, as long as I do not have a cheese burger, beer, or coffee sitting in front of me because I just finished in fifteen minutes before. After spending 40 dollars on a meal for my wife and I as well as coffee and beer, I was very disappointed with the customer service. Others were sitting outside drinking one beer every 45 minutes and no food yet the waiter dos not harass them about not spending enough money. As a café and a study spot for students in school, I would not recommend this place unless you can drink coffee very slowly and spread out your entrée into three orders over a two hour spans. I ended up leaving and going down the street to the Tea House which has great customer service and does not harass you for only ordering one time. I would not recommend this place, as a great place to study.

PROS: Brasil has great options for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Two fabulous outdoor seating areas with cover and ample indoor seating. Coffee, teas, espresso, wine and beer. When it’s a nice day, this is the place to be. Added bonus? The owner’s two year old bulldog Boudreaux practically lives here– he’s a great companion for the back outdoor patio. CON: the main issue I have with Brasil is that if you come alone to study or read, and it’s nearing lunch time… You will start to notice the staff frequently assessing if you are done with your food and drink. I have been here alone and was harassed three or four times by staff because I had finished eating and I had the tenacity to still be alive and at a table during prime lunch time. The owner had even personally harassed me because I was taking up a table for other customers. I know restaurants are a business, but this was a little overkill for a regular customer who had been at the restaurant for two hours and had purchased two drinks and a meal in that time frame… So, for those of you looking for a relaxed place to study, avoid coming here alone or during prime lunch time because you will be treated like a criminal.

Reasons why this place rocks: 1.Open later than most establishments that have wifi and allow you to work on a computer. 2. Not as crowded and more spacious than the coffee shop across the street 3. Free wifi 4. Also has real food — because you always think you just need coffee until you’ve been staring at a computer screen for two hours and your stomach starts to growl 5. Nice staff. Downside: The parking in the area leaves much to be desired during peak hours.

Pros: Really good pizzas and pretty good salads. Wanna try the brunch-bet it’s good. Nice atmosphere and building. Inside and outside is a cool place to hang out. Cons: All the deserts look great, but turn out to taste mediocre. Plus the people behind the counter always seem to be annoyed or impatient.

Came here for the first time for breakfast. I’ve been to Brasil a handful of times before, but only ever on bar crawls. I admitted to a waitress that it was my first time in Brasil that I would probably remember — she didn’t seem too happy about my comment. The atmosphere is really artsy encompassing the Montrose neighborhood vibe. It’s organized like a coffee shop with a counter where you order food and servers who will bring you your order. There are two separate dining areas plus two different outdoor patios. Some customers appeared to be camping out with their cappuccinos and laptops, others appeared to be grabbing brunch. The friend who I was meeting told me that they change their menu a lot for breakfast/brunch with new weekly offerings. Brasil, like the name, tends to lean on a South American theme. I ordered the pork tamales and eggs over easy. It said on the menu it came with black beans, but I got a tiny little condiment jar of black beans. I was expecting a bigger portion! The pork tamales were a little grainy, but I find it hard to get superb tamales so far from Mexico. The eggs were a tad watery and had no seasoning. I’ve never seen egg and tamales served together, but they really did make a good combination(could’ve used a little fresh pico de gallo). Overall, it was a really good breakfast. I’m eager to comeback and try their other menus.

As others have noted, a very cool and laid-back café in a cool part of Houston — I must visit the city more often! Arrived at 10am for a 2 hour business meeting with a new contact. Quiet, nice vibe, and all it cost me was a delicious café latte. Has a nice coffee shop area, a sit down bistro like space and a very nice open patio(which is dog friendly I guess from what I saw. Definitely worth a visit when in the area. I will be back! Review #32016

Went here for lunch with some coworkers. There is street parking and good luck with that. Luckily, we were in a tiny car so we found a spot fairly easily. It’s a walk up order and they bring to your number place. I got the burger with fries and a cookie. I wasn’t too impressed by either. My friend likes this place for the salad. The burger wasn’t anything special to me, and the fries were less special than the burger. The burger was a $ 15 burger after adding the $ 2 bacon(which was not crispy as requested) and the $ 1 for cheese. The cookie wasn’t soft. I asked the cashier which was the softest cookie they had and mine was very crunchy. Pretty disappointing since it was a $ 2 snickerdoodle cookie.

I was looking for a place to get some brunch or early lunch and decided upon this place after looking up a few reviews on Unilocal. One of the dishes on the menu caught my eye and I wanted to try it out. My boyfriend and I drove here on a Weds. morning. Online the menu says that they serve breakfast til 12pm, but when I got here the menus said that breakfast ends at 11am. I was a bit disappointed because it was a little past 11 and I wanted something on that menu. I asked the cashier and she kindly went to the back and asked the chefs. Lucky for me, they said they would cook it for me. The interior is very quiet. I see people sitting at the tables working. From what I could see, there were 3 rooms, the first room was the entrance room where you can make your order and there were a few tables, but they were oddly small; so if you were going with a group, it’s best not to sit in this room, the second room was more spacious and the tables were larger, and then there was the patio which was situated with the view of the intersection of Westheimer and Dunlavy. We made our order and we received our number. We got the waters and condiments ourselves. Once our food is ready, the runners would bring the food to our tables. BRASILBENEDICT– two poached eggs, grilled tomato and hollandaise on an English muffin, served with your choice of salmon, prosciutto or bacon, and roasted potatoes on the side I chose the salmon with my benedict and it was an interesting mix to have salmon and eggs. I love them both as separate entities, but together… it didn’t taste so great. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nicely poached and runny. The salmon tasted fresh. The muffin was good if you got to it early while it was still crispy, but when it got soggy it didn’t taste as great. just mushy. The roasted potatoes were decent and not too salty. I liked that it tasted fresh and light, but the mixture was just a bit odd for my taste. BLACKBEANBURGER– house-made black bean patty, with swiss, grilled onions, bell peppers, portabella, and onions, lettuce, tomato and spicy cilantro sauce I was expecting this burger to be more flavorful and was quite disappointed in the result of it all. I understood that there were no meat, but there was portabella, which to my understanding is portobello mushrooms and those have a meaty tender texture, but the burger was just flat and the black beans didn’t really make it have a meaty texture either. It tasted light, but the seasoning was lacking. This burger just fell flat in texture and in taste. Overall, the service was nice and the experience was an educational one for food purposes. The parking was strange because I just parked in the neighborhood. I don’t think they have a private parking lot, but they do have a lot that charges $ 5 near by. Ehhh~ pass on it. I wouldn’t add this place to my stop-ins.

Brasil is my go to coffee shop if I want to study AND eat delicious food. Like all the parking in the area, it can be pretty rough, but I think the end result is worth. My favorite drink is the Mexican Spice. They give you a HUGE cup of delicious coffee. The coffee has a nice spicy kick that goes smoothly down. The thing that separates Brasil from other coffee shops is definitely the food though. The triple apple pizza is to die for. The sweet and tart apples go perfectly with the savory bacon into a sumptuous creation. Truth be told, Brasil isn’t the best place to study. The lighting can be dim at night, and the wifi is pretty slow. Regardless, my brain runs on FOOD and Brasil is very good in that department. Service 3⁄5 Ambience 3.5÷5 Food4/5

I didn’t know the country Brazil(Brasil?) was known for blueberry pancakes, but the one I had here was spectacular. Mine was super fluffy and just perfect in every other way. Large portion too. I would even compare it to the one I had in San Fransisco at a popular place called Mama’s on Washington. If you’ve been there before, then yes, it’s that good. The menu calls the pancake a «stack» though, which didn’t make sense because it only came with one, but whatever! I came here with a bunch of friends for brunch. Little did I know it was so close to Common Bond bakery(literally pancake throwing distance). We ordered so much food that the plates filled up our entire table space. I had the Tamale Breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs, two chicken tamales, black beans, salsa and guajillo sauce. Not sure what kind of sauce guajillo is, but the overall dish was good! It’s somewhat filling and has protein — what more to ask? Maybe a little more food for my infinite volume stomach? Nah — for $ 9, that’s not bad! I read that there were bad experiences with service here so that made me weary before coming. We sat outside and didn’t have any issues with service. Food came on time and the staff was just normal. They offer plenty of tables and have both indoor and outdoor seating. On a nice day, I recommend trying to snatch a table outside, but good luck with that! It was a little crowded when we went. One of our friends had to stay and guard the table while we took turns ordering. Parking isn’t so fun around here. You’ll end up needing to park in the back neighborhood along the street. It’s next to Common Bond too so you’ll be competing with their customer too. Overall, the place has good food and decent service. I’ll have to come back one day!

A special little place. I love spending time here. With a glass of wine, beer or a great latte, it’s a relaxing atmosphere that makes you lose the mindset of being in Houston. The patio has perfect lighting and their inside has interior brick. Which we all know how interior brick makes you feel. There duck salad, is prime! It’s amazing, tastes great. I love the ordering concept, the staff is friendly and helps you if you need suggestions but then are good about leaving you alone and letting you be. Go here to study, to read, to converse, or just sit.

Brasil is where I go when I’m not really sure what I want for lunch or dinner, but I know I want something good. I’ve visited Brasil for brunch, lunch, and coffee. Love their coffee and enjoy all of the meals that I’ve tried. I do think their food’s slightly overpriced for the portions, but it is good quality. Their pizzas are worth it and are some of my favorites! For brunch I really liked the Brasil Benedict, but it only came with like 4 potato wedges. …K…it’s brunch, I’m hungry. Need more potatoes, please! Omelettes are pretty good as well. For lunch I usually go for a pizza, because I’m never disapointed with any of them. Duck salad is good, sandwiches are OK(a little greasy and plain jane), soup is OK, and desserts are great. Love their salted caramel brownie… melts in your mouth. I like to come and read a book outside, but only if the pigeons aren’t driving me completely nuts. Brasil does have a nice patio and offers plenty of seating!

Brasil, a soup, salad, sandwich, coffee café, really let me down with an awful salad. There’s nothing more critical or funny to say! I ordered the caprese salad with tofu with dressing on the side. I was craving some crisp tomatoes and soft mozzarella. The salad came out quickly, and it was incredibly disappointing. It didn’t taste like much of anything. The salad lacked basil, so the caprese part was missing a critical element. The tomato element included a small handful of sliced cherry tomatoes, and don’t even get me started on the cheese. The amount of tomatoes and cheese you get for $ 17 is depressing. I’m very disappointed in myself for being tricked into ordering a salad at Brasil. I’ll say that it was that bad. Like, Beck’s Prime’s salads are better. Shoot, Chik Fil A might have a better salad. I’m willing to come back, but will definitely avoid the salad. I’ve heard good things about their brunch and breakfast. Seriously, just look at the picture I’m uploading with this review and tell me if it reminds you of caprese. I’m more critical of salads, but I definitely recognize that this salad was a monumental disappointment. You know what, the tofu was okay. It was a silkier tofu with a nicely grilled outside, and definitely had flavor. But next time I’m trying to eat a salad to keep my diet light or craving caprese, I’ll look elsewhere.
