Not sure about anything here, we drove around and around, behind, as well as across Washington Ave., and behind there, on Saturday around 6ish, never could find a spot to park that wasn’t marked tow zone. How on earth do you or any of the other businesses that do not have private parking lots, have any customers, when there’s no where to park? Must be local neighbors keeping you going… really wanted to give you a try. Sorry for the lonely«star», but really disappointed even now as I type this.

Divey bar right off Washington avenue that doesn’t feel cramped, it is bigger on the inside than it looks. Came during the day on a Saturday to have a drink and lunch and was not disappointed. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was open and clean. The food we ordered was great and plenty to split between two. We ordered the freight train fries which punched a lot of flavor and were not soggy despite all the toppings. The sandwich we shared was the mother daughter. All the ingredients and flavors in the sandwich complimented each other well from the egg yoke absorb by the bun to the jalapeño buttermilk on top of the fried Cajun breeding of the chicken breast!

Pretty good burger just not my personal favorite style. Very good flavor and fresh so that’s why it’s a 4. Cool Washington corridor bar with friendly staff, better than average restrooms and a newly renovated patio. Good weekly specials and cool environment for HH.

Creative menu, stiff drinks, and a great outside seating area. I will definitely be coming back.

So, Bourbon & Bacon catered our group birthday party at Barringer. The food was amazing – meatballs, truffle & bacon Mac n cheese, and open-faced BLTs. Bacon deliciousness in everything! They were incredibly professional– came and set up prior to the party to make sure everything looked great. My only complaint was that I had to share the food with other people. Apparently, hoarding all the BLTs in the back room would’ve been«rude».

I went to Bourbon and Bacon purely for their food, and I was not wrong !! They grill everything perfect. I got pork tacos and my friend got pulled pork sandwich. Both meats were perfectly grilled and their choice of sauces were amazing ! Highly recommend :)

If you’ve ever wondered where the bacon is on your breakfast taco, come here and you’ll never wonder again. Best breakfast taco I’ve had to date. The rest of the menu looks fabulous as well. Very savory.

Everything was perfect until the food came. Fish tacos were bland and very boring. The fries were good though. Bartender & service was five star

If you are looking for really great bar food look no further than Bourbon & Bacon. This kitchen is located inside Little J’s on Washington Avenue. It truly is the best bar food I have had. Their freight train fries are a masterpiece of perfectly salty fries topped with queso, bacon and jalapeños. The mother daughter sandwich is crunchy chicken deliciousness. The burgers are juicy and expertly prepared to a perfect mid rare. I truly have not had one item off their menu that wasn’t amazing. If you are looking for a totally casual meal that is really delicious, Bourbon & Bacon is your best bet. Oh, and the potions are BIG so I recommend splitting.

I really wish I could rate this place… I really do. But whenever we came in, we were not served or greeted or anything at all. Whenever we walked in, we sat down, waited about 15 minutes, and walked out. How disappointing… we were really looking forward to it.

Ended up here for a work thing. Place is pretty cool – parking sucks. Maxwell was taking care of us and his service is FANTASTIC! Ask for him!

We came here 3 Saturdays ago and Yum yum yum! I got the BLT and was blown away by how good it was! I could eat this everyday and no BLT can compare to how good there’s is. My boyfriend got the mother daughter sandwich and holy moly it is freaking delicious. If you want to indulge– this is the way to do it! The bar atmosphere is really chill and the staff is extremely friendly. We will be back here soon!

Pretty unique food options. The mother daughter(which is chicken) is better than its burger counterpart(rise & shine). The freight train fries were too much for me since I already had bacon and flavor overload from the burger. However, my friend loved them. There was bingo when we went and I won a free drink.

Well ladies and gents, I can’t really tell you much about the atmosphere. Ordered the mother daughter and it was nice and hot. The taste was ok. Nothing over the top just a bunch of different meats together. Fries were good and did the trick. I have to come back Nd try the bacon and mac bowl. The staff didn’t seem that friendly, but you get use to that in Houston. I hope to expand this review but for now I’m out.

The freight train fries were delicious and our table of 5 finished them within the span of about 3 seconds. I’m partial toward the fries because they were the only item we got that didn’t have too much SALT(other than dessert of course). I mean, does the chef not try his food out before serving it to customers or is he lacking something in the taste bud department? The mother daughter sandwich could be good — if the chicken wasn’t so dry & if you put down the salt shaker. The gouda/bacon/truffle mac n cheese could use more cheese & once again, less salt. Now for dessert: the bacon funnel cake is probably the best funnel cake I’ve had… EVER. I didn’t taste much bacon in it, but it was so moist and melt-in-your mouth delicious; everything that a funnel cake should be. Also, we wanted to try their wings, because it is «bar food», so wings were expected, but we came to find out that they only have their wings on certain nights. We sat outside, but if you sit inside of Little J’s, it might be hard for you to have a decent conversation with those at your table. We were there on a Wednesday night and they had some sort of trivia game going on so that could’ve been the reason for all the noise. We came here to try out the food(not drink) and there were 2 people in our party under the age of 21. CAUTION: they do have a rule that even if you’re just eating there, everyone needs to be over the age of 21. We were able to beg our waitress who spoke to the manager for us & allowed the members of our party to stay, most likely because we were sitting outside. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, just wish the food had been up to par with my expectations.

This needs to be on DDD! Bourbon honey maple wings are excellent. Try the bacon Mac and cheese. Also the the mother daughter chicken sandwich was very good. Good people running it. And a great place for a cold beer.

We both had the mother daughter… which was very delicious. Each layer is amazing and fulfilling. Words can not describe this chicken burger… just have to come in and try it for yourself. The food is mouthwatering and you will definitely enjoy every bite!!!

Our waitress was great, she was very attentive and quick at bringing drink refills and our check. We ordered the freight train fries and they were soooo good! Definitely get those when you go. We split the mother/daughter sandwich and it was good but fries were the best! Our friends ordered the empanadas and those were really good too. It’s a bar but this isn’t typical bar food. Great food!

Sadly, I was not a fan of this place. First of all, I was not aware of the fact that it is literally Little J’s. The alcohol menu has Little J’s name and the food menu has Bourbon and Bacon’s name on it. Other than that small difference, they are the exact same place. As for the food, I expected so much more. My boyfriend and I were looking online at the pictures of their food and reading how amazing certain entrees were. When we got there, the menu was totally different. I ended up ordering their sliders and they were marginal. Salt was the prominent flavor. The atmosphere was pretty good. My boyfriend was impressed that they had hockey on and I thought that they played good 90s music. All in all, I think there are better places to eat and drink.

Because Bourbon & Bacon is not a stand alone brick and mortar, but is a pop up kitchen located INSIDE Little J’s bar, I’m *just* reviewing the food… not the service(which was solid and friendly, btw), ambiance, et al. My wife and I wanted to give it a try because A.) The name of the joint has two of our favorite food groups and B.) We had a gift card. We started with the Freight Train Fries. These bad boys come out on a huge dish and they’re not stingy with the cheese or the bacon; a big pet peeve of ours. Nobody wants nachos, cheese fries, etc. where you dig below the top layer and have nothing but plain old french fries. The Cajun flavored seasoned salt on these was a good start, the white queso was delicious and the pickled jalapenos make for a fun touch. My wife had the Mother Daughter and I, having already had the deliciousness that is Whataburger for lunch, went with Wilbur’s Tacos over the sliders. I only had one bite of the Mother Daughter, but it was good. The Cajun flavor emanated nicely from the sandwich. The crispiness of the batter was nice and everyone knows a fried egg makes most sandwiches more delicious. With the tacos, you have a choice grilled or fried pork. I went with grilled on the waitresses recommendation. The pork itself was good, but not excellent. Certainly not the best cuts of meat. There might have been just a *bit much* going on, but I did enjoy the nuances of how all the flavors came together. I really liked the jalapeño cream, chili glaze and pickled red onions. They reminded me that nice citrus bite you get from fresh coleslaw on a BBQ slider. In retrospect, I probably would’ve preferred the fried pork so the crisp skin could offset the texture of the black bean hummus, but I genuinely have no complaints. Bourbon and Bacon is better than your average bar food and priced very reasonably. It’s better fare than what you previously would have received from Blue Moose in this location and the prices are comparable to spots like Royal Oak or Baker Street in Rice Village.
