Bootin & Savrick Pediatric Associates

We have been recommended to Dr Bootin to visit our newborn in the hospital. When I called the office, they said no need to inform Dr in advance and as long as we put her name in hospital form she will show up. What happened after delivery is that I saw a person who came into my room checked baby for a second and said something very fast and left.
The day after again she came in, went to my baby crib, I ask who are you and she said I checke baby I asked if she is Dr Bootin, she said no we work together. She left before I get to ask her any question.
The next time she came in I stopped her and told her I have questions. She act like she is in hurry but I started to ask my questions, her answer was all «normal, ok» her one leg was out of door when she was talking to me.
She was the worst pediatrics I’ve ever seen, very unprofessional and annoying person.
Her name is Savrick.

Dr guntuku is amazing! Couldn’t ask for a better doctor than her. She takes her time with you and she is so lively, and humble. Highly recommend her.

Dr Bootin is the bomb! Both my son and daughter have seen her since birth and I fully entrust her and her associates when my kids are sick. They are thorough fast and efficient! I highly recommend them. They are even open on Saturdays for a few hours for those weekend cases.
I don’t mind paying for parking because when it comes to my kids health does $ 8 really matter? They do validate and you pay I think $ 5. The wait time is no problem in my experience. I get there early and make sure that everything is in order so there are never any issues. I also make sure to have any questions I have ready.
If they have your pharmacy on file they can call in your prescription. If the pharmacy is fast as in my experience the meds are ready and waiting for you.

I wish I could give a lower score for the billing ordeal I’ve been through, but Dr. McCann was a truly kind and gentle doctor who explained things to me clearly after showing up for my daughter’s newborn checkup.
Since my chosen pediatrician didn’t have have privileges to practice at the hospital where I gave birth, they were sent over. I just felt backed into a corner then overcharged – not a good feeling.

We really like Dr. McGann and highly recommended her. She took her time to tell you want to be expected in the next few months of your baby growing. Very professional and knowledgeable. I wish they have another location in Clear Lake City area… as it take about 30 min now to get to her office in Medical Center.

This office was highly recommended to us from someone at our church, so I thought we’d try it out.
Here’s the DL:
1.) Yes, you have to pay for parking. The sign in the pediatrician’s office says it’s $ 8 to park in the garage and $ 5 for the valet (NOT free valet). If you bring in your parking ticket/​stub to the office, they’ll stamp it for you and discount $ 3. Of course, I didn’t know that and left our stub in our car. Lame.
2.) The office is very appealing. There’s a sick side and a well side to keep children separated. There’s a flat screen TV on both sides that plays a movie. We had to wait about an hour to see our doctor, and had to watch the same movie because no one would change it. This was annoying.
3.) Wait time is forever. We waited about 40 min. in the waiting room and then at least another 30 when they set us up in a room in the back.
4.) Friday attire not very professional. We came in on a Friday so most of the staff was wearing jeans and t-​shirts. Not crazy about it — they looked like they worked at a fast food joint.
5.) Nurse not gentle or kid-​friendly. I did not like the way our nurse administered the flu shots to my girls (ages 3 and 1). She wasn’t friendly or gentle or made it into a game like the nurses at our old pediatrician’s office would (we recently moved to TX). My girls weren’t used to the unfriendly manner and cried more than usual, but the nurse just stabbed, tape and muttered,” Have they ever had flu shots before?“
I read a previous review that stated their nurse didn’t even cover the area poked with the bandaid correctly — this was our case too! When we took my girls bandaids off, the sticky part was covering their «owies!»
The least they can do is use «cute» bandaids. Our former pediatrician used Snoopy or Princess bandaids and would even give little certificates to kids for being «brave.» I was really disappointed at how NOT kid-​friendly the flu shot procedure was here.
6.) Last but not least, review of the doc.
We were seen by Dr. Woodrum. She was friendly enough, but I wasn’t crazy about a few things:
— First, she seemed really impatient with my 3 yo. I was trying to talk to the doc and my preschooler kept asking «Mom! Mom! Mom!» and before I could answer her, the doctor would say sternly, «Mommy’s talking right now.» It bothered me that she took over like that and I didn’t like her tone with my child.
— Second, I was really worried about my 1 yo’s wheezing and was asking a lot of questions about it and at one point, she said, «Just use your mommy common sense.» I found that a little condescending.
— Third, her tune changed a little when I considered having her give my 1 yo her well check exam. She was super friendly and more personable and at one point asked whom I chose as my PCP (Bootin) and that she’d be happy to administer the exam and if I chose to stay with Bootin her «feelings wouldn’t be hurt.» What?! What do her feelings have to do with all this? All I care about is my child having a great doc. It just seemed like an awkward thing to say.
Overall, I was not blown away by this practice and the service provided. Mind you, we had THE BEST pediatrician in our former home, so the bar is raised pretty high. I’m still considering whether or not to come here again and just stick with either Bootin or Savrick the next time around (and speak up to the nurses if they seem unprofessional or not very gentle and kind with my children).

Unbelievable.
My wife and I showed up on-​time for a 5:30pm «new mother» appointment. The Doctor was a no show 40 minutes later we got up and left.
20 minutes in — no one had even looked at us — so my wife asked «hey is the doctor coming soon». The lady in the front was nice and said «oh soon we were really busy today».
At 6:10 — 40 minutes LATE — we walked out.
I called the office the next day and asked for Dr Bootin’s Voicemail or Email, they would not give it to me. So I left a message and asked her to call me back as I wanted to talk about what happened. Just to see if it was a fluke, and if she cared we might give them another shot. 4 business days later she has not called back. And of course I can’t get her direct contact to tell her how I feel.

My daughter has been Dr. Bootin’s patient since I gave birth. She always provides the best care and we have never had a problem if they need to fit us in. Even if we need to see a different doctor, we have never had a negative experience. The transition to the new office has not caused us any issues either. We will continue to come here unless we move out of state. Other than that there will be no reason for us to change doctors. We love Dr. Bootin!

I cannot believe the low scores here. Most of these reviews were written prior to the move to the new location so are not accurate. Yes, sometimes you cannot get in with Dr. Bootin or Dr. Savrick but the «junior» doctors are not so junior and are very awesome. Some say your reward for success is more work. Although our primary is Dr. Bootin, we LOVE Dr. Collard. She has helped my son’s eczema and explains to him in language that he understands what is happening to his body and how he can help to fix it. That is what a good pediatrician should do.
Also, if you have not been to the new location you cannot do an educated review in my opinion. The new location, while yes, there is still paid parking, the parking is cheaper and doesn’t go above $ 6. Also you can pay with credit card and there is ALWAYS a convenient spot. Also there is free valet since it is a hospital which is great if you have a sick kid to get out of the car.
The new waiting room is very pretty and has more benches and chairs. Still separated into sick and well which we love.
And I don’t know what you are talking about nasty nurses, the nurses are perfectly awesome to my kids no matter which one we get and they even remember their names when we come in :) Maybe she was having a bad day when you saw her.

Excellent excellent practice! Dr Savrick is our primary doctor and we love her. We’ve seen them since the Nicu days for our preemie and Dr Savrick is a boon for stressed bumbling 1^st time preemie parents. She is practical, understanding, does not judge or sermonize and is very very well connected to other medical practitioners and resourceful.
Her nurse Angel and all the others have been nothing less than patient and supportive and courteous. Mona at the referrals desk is great for liaising on reports etc Yes the earlier parking garage was cash only, however I have mailed in a check in the past. The new garage takes cards, and you get $ 3 validated off your parking ticket.
Love their call back and after hours facility — the nurses have always been great and on occasion the doctors have personally called back to follow up.
I havent met Dr Bootin but Dr Collard, Dr McGrann have seen us on occasion for sick child and Staruday visits and they are as great. Yes the wait time can be long on occasion so do carry a blankie for the baby, but I still drive in from Cinco Ranch to see them in the medical center location. I dont even want to consider looking for another pediatric unless I move out of state (heaven forbid)

I go way back with Dr. Bootin, and will be the first to tell you she is a rockin’ doctor. She was with Dr. Don back in the day, another rockin’ doc. When she and Dr. Savrick decided to branch out on their own, the level of care went to hell, fast. We left their group over five years ago, because my daughter was misdiagnosed by a junior physician. We would call and ask to see our doc, and could never get in. They had an awful policy about Dr. Bootin and Savrick not sharing patients, so the junior docs were the only choice. Bottom line, the practice grew at a rapid rate, the bedside manner became null, and mistakes were made. Would I see Dr. Bootin again? Sure, if she wasn’t in this group setting. It doesn’t help that her staff is rude either.

Dr. Bootin is a GREAT Pediatrician! She is supportive of my modified vaccine schedule for my child, super friendly, and answers any questions that I have.
Why only 4 stars? Well, I’d actually rate 2 or 3 stars b/​c of the location and nurses…
Location is in the Medical Center, so probably not too surprising to pay a parking garage fee. CASH ONLY! :P The garage itself is really tight, and you have to drive up to at LEAST the 3^rd floor for visitor parking. (Watch out, though. Waiting time can be long = the more you have to pay).
Nurses…there were maybe two or three super friendly and kind nurses at the office. The rest kind of seemed annoyed to be there, or to have to «serve» the customers. The wait to get into a room, and then to see a nurse, and then to see the doctor is LONG. Be sure to bring a blanket for your little one b/​c mine went for LONG periods of time in her diaper.
One nurse in particular was NOT gentle in administering a shot to my child. In the past, I had time to initial the immunization sheet, prep my baby, and then give her her shot. This nurse practically stabbed the needle into my baby’s leg WHILE I was initialing the sheet, and announced, «ALL DONE!» just as I finished. She then put a band-​aid NEXT to the location of the shot (blood everywhere), then started removing the tissue-​paper on the exam table before I even realized what had happened. I think she must have thought I was one of «those» «bad» moms that doesn’t give a ton of shots to my baby at one time. (grrr)…as I’m typing this, I’m remembering how angry I was at that nurse, and am now removing two stars in this rating.
In conclusion, if you don’t mind paying a Parking Garage fee, and don’t mind nasty nurses, then Dr. Bootin is FANTASTIC!!!
But if you’re looking for a good all-​around pediatric experience (nurses and all), then you might want to consider another place.
I would stay with Bootin if she had different nurses working for her.
