Their crawfish is 4-star, I love their crawfish seasoning! Worth a visit during crawfish season. The rest of their menu is 3 star… not bad but not amazing. Frequent trips to New Orleans over the years has spoiled me as far as true authentic Cajun cuisine is concerned. But BB’s is good enough if I don’t feel like paying Brennan of Houston prices, or don’t feel like driving the few extra miles to go to Ragin Cajun. Customer service has always been good to me here. Half-off Happy Hour specials M-F and TV’s to watch sports.

Found another place to add to my list. The gumbo was pretty good. Shrimp poboy was off the chain too.

Food is so delicious. Service is a hit or miss. Never know whether to blame the kitchen, the bar, or the waiter. I always tend to leave this place still hungry. A cup is a taste and a bowl is a cup; My opinion of portions. Maybe I’m just fat and over indulge but none the less I never seem to be fat full leaving. We came here an hour and a half before closing with some what of a big group. About 8 or 9. Nothing too crazy. The guy didn’t seem to be very happy. We ordered several times through out the meal. After the first Or second round, Felt like everything was getting lost until we brought it up to his attention again. Good food though! Been a while, but I’ll be back

Great food, awful waitstaff Come here for the food, prepare to be underwhelmed with the waitstaff. Found this place on Unilocal looking for late night food. Food is incredible in flavor. The cocktail drinks tasty & creative. Would have liked a little more ice to make it colder, but tasty nonetheless and good size, Merced in a mason jar. Free parking, ample size, a little noisy if there is a large table nearby. The food is insane tasty with good sized portions. 2 stars comes from absolutely awful waitstaff. No motivation, disorganized, uncaring. Our waiter got everything wrong. Had to flag down manager just to get silver ware AND have him take our order. Waiter showed up 5 minutes later asking if we wanted to order. No refills of water without flagging down staff, of which you had to get in their face, almost grab them for them to attend. Manager realized mistakes and comped us the appetizer. If you are skinny, a vegan or picky, don’t come here and try to spoil the menu, go eat grass somewhere else. This is tasty New Orleans, flavorful, filling not good for heart healt, but great for taste health food.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner after work. We got Tex-cajun fries for an appetizer and I got a Bedtime in the Bayou Po’boy and my husband got the oyster shrimp po’boy. Let me tell you this… best sweet tea around wow. Its a little pricey but you get what you pay for… great food!

Ramsey took excellent care of us. The shrimp gumbo with crab meat(extra) is well worth it. Thanks BB’s

My food was soooooooooo good … like seriously, sooooo good … I got the fried shrimp po boy(bedtime in the bayou) and a cup of sausage gumbo… I’m always skeptical about eating gumbo anywhere other than home but I’m so glad I tried it … it had the right amount of meat, juice and spice… I will definitely be back and will probably eat the same thing… I like this BBs location better than the one on white oak… the food here tastes better…

We have become big fans of this little chain of eateries. Been to almost all here in Houston. During crawfish season they have some of the tastiest and best boiled in the city. But the reason I come to eat here is Maw Maw’s Grillades & Grits — slap your Maw Maw! Tender steak tips cooked in Cajun gravy and topped with cheese grits. Served with a warm biscuit. This dish is da bomb! A small bowl is plenty for me as I usually have a small bowl of the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo with it. The perfect meal! The gumbo is hearty and full of the usual gumbo goodness. It’s thick and very zingy. I would recommend it anyday. But the Maw Maw’s Grillades & Grits is my reason for going to any of these locations. The wife gets their po’ boys and thinks they are tasty. They are stuffed with shrimp — her fav. And the fries are crispy and you get plenty. I am usually NOT a boudin ball fan but these are good. I can actually eat a whole app. But I find it’s more fun to share. Peel and eat shrimp — cold — always cooked perfect. I’ll be honest, I am so in love with the gumbo and grillades I rarely fan out into the menu. But I can’t imagine any of it being bad! This location is less packed in than the one on Richmond and not as cavernous as the one on the Grand Parkway. It was clean and not too loud. Nice booths and the bar has several stools and there are TVs scattered about. I wish they had a larger beer selection. But they carry the Abita line and some of the local St Arnold. So I can find something I like. Kids menu available. To go packs of large quantities of gumbo and red beans & rice — think Super Bowl party or holiday meals. I will admit the service was a little slow. We had to track down someone a couple times. It would have been ok if they had been slammed… but they weren’t.

Decided to stop and try this place out on a whim. Went with the special, a po-boy, i chose the shrimp and a cup of soup for $ 9.00, which I thought was a great price. They would have gotten 2 stars, but the pricing got them 3 stars from me. As far as the food, the gumbo was okay, nothing to tell an enemy to eat. Very thick roux and I can’t stand okra in anything and it’s full of it,(insert throwing up emoji). The bread on the shrimp po-boy was excellent, and I’m not a po-boy eater. One sure way to jack up some shrimp is to fry them in cornmeal, so let’s just say i won’t volunteer to come back but great pricing.

My server was excellent!!! Very fast and friendly. She knew the menu like the back of her hand which was great made me feel comfortable ordering from her and letting her make suggestions. Make sure you get the shrimp & grits. It is to die for yummmmmm

The waiter was friendly but service was a little slow considering the place was not very busy. The food was not as good as the Montrose location. I ordered the Midnight Masterpiece and the meat had a Lot of fat in it but the flavor was still good. My son ordered the Tuesday Special and the chicken was a little overcooked. Maybe it was just an off Sunday. I usually love the place and both of those items. I will be back and hopefully I won’t be disappointed.

On Mondays you get $ 5 bowls of gumbo or red beans I believe instead of the smaller cup sizes.

I’m a Louisiana gal so I go here to get my Cajun fix from time to time. Seafood is always fresh. Gumbo is pretty good. Their poboy bread is on point; soft but flaky French bread. The fish, shrimp and oyster are always tasty tasty. Tbh they really can stand a little more seafood as I find myself peeling off the bread as I am not going to eat a lettuce sandwich. I would give more of a 3.5 star.

If you’re a fan of Cajun food(which I am) this place is very convenient, it’s no Pappadeaux but it’ll do. They have really late hours(especially on those drunk weekend nights lol) & they offer a moderate selection of Cajun specialties. My favorites are the Boudin Balls, Po-Boys(Shrimp & Oysters), & the Boiled Crawfish, all full of flavor with great prices. The service here is very mediocre & inconsistent. Some days are good & some not so good, I guess it all depends on the time you go and the server you get. Is this always my first choice for the best Cajun seafood in Houston? No. Is this place convenient & will it satisfy that«Cajun craving»? Yes! Try it, you may like!

I’d been meaning to come here for a while. Not a bad place overall. Decorations are simple, place was clean, but condensation dripping from the air conditioner bothered me though. I ordered the half shrimp po boy and a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo. The bread was not dense enough for the weight of the sandwich toppings. The gumbo was pretty tasty. A tad spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. Friend ordered the macaroni and cheese with beef(forgot the name) instead of soup with her sandwich, and it was delicious. Waiter was reasonably attentive, and I’m not certain who to blame for mixing up our sandwiches(we got the same sandwich With different toppings and sides so I guess it’s an easy mistake?). Might come back again, but probably not.

Went with a group after another nearby restaurant surprised us with a ‘buffet only’ brunch. Turned out to be a great move. We were greeted as soon as we walked in even though the sign says seat yourself. Our waiter was a sweet young man that listened well. I always order tea and specify’no lemon’. 9 times out of ten I get tea with a big honking slice of lemon and have to send it back. He got it right along with all other orders on the first try. That’s impressive with a group like mine. All women, some vegans, some vegetarians, some foodies and all super chatty! I ordered the cobb salad. Delicious!!! I like that they thoroughly toss it with the dressing. No fuss for me.

Had late night cravings for raw Oysters and Unilocal guided me here. I hate to be those people that come in 30 minutes before closing but when I crave… I crave hard. Lol. To be fair we thought this location was 24hrs but we had mistaken it for the Montrose location. Our waitress did not mind though and was very patient with us. :) Raw Oysters(4⁄5) Fresh shucked oysters for $ 14. They were clean but small. Definitely satisfied my cravings though! Seafood Gumbo(3⁄5) Eh, not too shabby. it’s edible. lol Fried Oysters Platter(4⁄5) I requested it to be lightly fried and it was done exactly the way I wanted. French fries were super thin cut and nicely crisp. Fried Catfish(3⁄5) it’s probably my fault because I requested it to be fried hard so they came out somewhat burnt and the fish ended up being dry. I made my boyfriend eat it all. Boiled Crawfish(3⁄5) $ 8 per LB. Currently crawfish season so the size is nice. The flavor is enjoyable, something you could put together at home for a crawfish boil. Just a tad bit on the salty side. I wouldn’t mind coming back to BB’s but it would probably be for my late night munchies and at the Montrose location

Wow this location blew my mind but in a good way. To be honest, I did not come here with very high expectations. My experiences at the Montrose location has always been underwhelming to say the least so BB’s has never been a preference when finding some good eats. This is my first visit at the Westheimer location and I am happy to report that this will be my go-to location from here on out. This location is huge! Plenty of seating and parking. Upon walking in, you are greeted with a sign to seat yourself. There’s a full sized bar to your right with a limited amount of tables. But no worries, there are many TVs throughout the premise so you’re not limited to the bar area. Crawfish 5⁄5: I don’t know about ya’ll but I came here for the CRAWFISH. I’ve never had crawfish here before, and I was a bit skeptical because I usually like my crawfish Asian style(garlicy and buttery). But wow again my mind was blown. The mudbugs were huge and I ooh’ed and aww’ed the entire time. The seasoning is Louisiana style. It was on point but can be a bit overwhelming after a while if you suck on the heads like I do. But I’d rather have it over seasoned than under seasoned when it comes to crawfish. I ordered 3 pounds and killed the entire thing by myself — don’t judge. 3 pounds comes with 3 small potatoes and corn. Crawfish is $ 8/lb here. Gumbo 2⁄5: Very salty. My salt intake tolerance is pretty high, but the gumbo was borderline inedible, even for me. I had a few bites with the rice, thank God for the rice. Not worth the $ 10IMO. Oysters 4⁄5: Very fresh, however they were pretty small. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few large ones but only a couple. Worth $ 14 a dozen? No not really. Tex-Cajun Fries: A big heaping plate of shoestring fries drowned in gravy, gueso, and roast beef. You cannot go wrong with this appetizer ya’ll. Always a favorite of mine when I go to BB’s.

This place is located right next to House of Pies. It has a decent private lot. It’s a walk in and sit your self anywhere kind of place. BB’s café has daily specials. Monday: Maw Maw chicken & sausage or shrimp gumbo for $ 5. Tuesday: Half po boy and cup of chicken or shrimp gumbo for $ 9. Wednesday: Select savings on water creatures. Thursday: Cajun fajitas and Rita’s. My friend and I arrived Monday night. We quickly ordered drinks and contemplated over what we should order. My friend ordered Boudin Balls and Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers. For entrees, my friend ordered a po boy with gumbo. I decided to go with Fried Alligator. It was about 5 minutes after when the waitress comes to tell us that they ran out of Boudin Balls and Fried Alligator. Double whammy. The waitress proceeded to recommend Shrimp and Grits as a popular dish here, so I went with that. Fried Green Tomatoes(4⁄5): Topped with fresh jumbo lump crab meat, smoked corn and chipotle remoulade. Honestly this was the best thing I tried that night. The crab meat was fresh, and I’m pretty sure I ate 75% of it. Of course, I asked my friend if she wanted some of the crab. :) The chipotle remoulade sauce was amazing as well. It comes with 8 tomatoes, so 4 for each of us was perfect. I would recommend this appetizer. South Texas Fire: Fajita beef topped with melted pepper jack cheese, avocado, sauteed peppers, and onions. Topped with a spicy pepper cheese sauce. I didn’t try this, but my friend seemed to be enjoying it. Maw Maw Shrimp Gumbo(1⁄5): It was my first time trying gumbo. I’ll give it another shot again but didn’t like it. I only took a bite. Don’t remember much about it. Kathie B’s Shrimp and Grits(2⁄5): Jumbo blackened shrimp sauteed in a zesty andouille cream sauce with celery, onions, bell peppers and garlic. Served over a bed of cheese grits. This was too heavy and salty in my opinion. I haven’t tried much of Cajun food, so grits was new to me. I pretty much only tried 2 bites with the bread before I let my friend eat some. I’ll just say it was a lot of food or cheese grits in the entrée. Frankly, I don’t know if I would ever try BB’s café again. If someone else wanted to come for the Wednesday special, then sure. I probably will try other Cajun restaurants though!

We went here for the first time last weekend to have a late dinner. BLOWNAWAY. First off, the staff is beyond pleasant. Our server was very informative and attentive. FOOD. 5 stars ALLTHEWAY. We ordered the Gumbo which was super delicious. The best i have ever had. Real fresh and great flavor. I got the Shrimpchilda. Cajun Style shrimp enchiladas, topped in Cajun pepper cream sauce, black bean corn relish, sour cream, salsa verde. Served with red beans and rice. My bf ordered the Surf and Turf bo boy. Roast beef, homemade gravy, melted pepper jack cheese, fried shrimp and tomato slices. You better believe i had to have a couple bites of it, way too good to pass up. So good I may just order it myself next time. He added the Tex-Cajun your fries(gravy, roast beef and queso over fries) which was also yummy. The atmosphere is super chill, pretty good vibe. Another good thing is that it is open til 3 am, cant go wrong with that! LOVE this place. Will def be back for my cheat meals! MMMM
