I have shopped online previously and have thought about taking a trip to Atlanta, Georgia just so I could shop this store in person. Lo and behold, I receive an email December 11, 2013 announcing their opening of a new store in our fair city! Best. news. ever. I’ve heard this store described as «what J. Crew wants to be,» which I think is pretty accurate. It’s a preppy, classic women’s clothing store offering mostly items Ann Mashburn has designed herself. Think silk blouses, crisp cotton shirts in solid colors and colorful prints and ginghams, box pleat skirts knee-length and longer. They also offer some Saint James minquier striped knits and A.P.C. items like leather jackets and skirts. Additionally, there are accessories and shoes. The sales associates were friendly and offered me water. They noted that if you needed any sizes not on the floor, you could ask because they didn’t put all their stock out on display. The prices will be more than what you’d get at J. Crew or Banana Republic, but I think the craftsmanship and quality are reflected. This is the true cost of clothing, not fast fashion. I will be saving up for and stalking their sales.
