Aldi is much smaller than the typical grocery store but sometimes you can find some very good deals on items such as avocados, milk and eggs. Customer service is pretty much none existent until you’re ready to check out and on several occasions I’ve had to search for a cashier to check me out. They do not price match so unless you are stopping here to pick up a few specific items you may be disappointed. The quality of the brands they carry are hit or miss depending on what you pick up. For the most part, fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, and meat are of very good quality. If you want to use a basket, you have to pay a quarter in which you will get back once you return it. You also have to pay for bags if you don’t bring your own. I understand the concept of wanting to keep prices low by having customers pay for bags and the use of shopping carts but the prices of the groceries don’t really reflect the cost cutting measures.

Rock bottom prices, efficient, somewhat old school in their approach. Stores are a little smaller, you’ll find a mix of their store brands and major brands. They don’t really stock any more than just putting it out there and you get to go through it(very similar to the old 1980’s you bag it places). Bring some bags, as you’ll be bagging your own groceries(which is fine by me). Carts will set you back a quarter but if you return it you’ll get your quarter back(again fine by me). Prices are very low, and the quality is quite good. May not appeal to snooty sorts, but those who appreciate a bargain and helping themselves will appreciate the concept and execution(very German). Two thumbs up from me.

I like this location. The staff is always friendly & keep the shelves stocked. I’ve also run into some really cool buys here, like a nice leg of lamb & stuffed clams. One of the employees let me know they get special shipment from time to time. Produce is always fresh here, eggs & milk at low cost. Great place for those quick«I need ____to finish dinner» runs.

I live in the Heights, so I must Drive. To. Get. Here. But it’s soooo worth it. I come out here every two weeks now. It’s about the size of a Walgreens, which surprised me, at first. And then I remembered that, yes, this follows the German model — tiny supermarkets. Specifically, there are GREATBUYS on large eggs, milk, juice, and meats. And not just inexpensive, but HIGHQUALITY. The large eggs are MUCH larger than what I can find at Kroger, and the shells are harder —- to me, this means healthier chickens. They also have cool German pumpernickel and rye breads, that I can’t find in regular stores. PLEASE, OPENANALDITHATISCENTRALLYLOCATED!!! ALDI is very German(Euro) in that you must pay $ 0.25 deposit for a shopping cart; you get this back when you return the cart. This really prevents people from leaving carts all over the place, and it reduces the cost of hiring more employees. Also, you must pay for plastic and paper bags(paper is cheaper), so bring your own bags … And you’ll bag your own groceries. Also, I think it’s awesome that the cashier GETSTOSITDOWN. Seriously, why make these people stand for 8 hours! That’s outrageous and seriously bad for the body! Yay, ALDI!
