I’ve driven by this place so many times and on one afternoon, not so long ago, I finally had a chance to look. The name says it all… things for outside and in… a huge gift store filled with literally gifts for man, woman, child or beast…
As you walk in, there are small gift areas. There is a Louisiana themed section filled with platters, glasses and whatnots, nice for hostess gifts or special occasion. The LSU and Saints section had glasses and towels, aprons, shirts and many unique items that are not widely offered. The garden area had statues and tools and torches and garden art, as well as planters and Victorian gazing balls. Commonly recognized areas like Tyler candles and Vera bags and totes. I noticed a liquor area of local liquors and wines which was an interesting find as well as specialty sauces and spices for all your grilling and entertaining needs. In the back you will find grills, barbecues and the infamous green egg not far from patio furnishings and patio umbrellas… There is also a baby section with every kind of baby gift for that new cutie patootie arrival. A small pet or animal lover section that had themed items from dog bowls to weenie dog shaped pens. The best section was in the extreme back in the clearance area where I spotted Halloween items at 75% off and colorful platters marked down to $ 12.00. There was literally hundreds of wonderful gifts at bargain basement prices.
It’s located on Corporate drive which runs behind the ever crowded MLK Blvd that’s teaming with your typical chains, so it was an absolute delight to find this gem. The prices points were across the board and the quality of the items was excellent. Whatever your budget… you are sure to find something. They offer gift wrapping too, which can be an added bonus to any that are not able to provide that extra zing when giving a gift. The parking lot is large with ample parking and the staff approached me just twice to offer assistance, which I loved, not over powering… but just close enough if i needed them…
I was wowed… so I’ll be back… hey! anybody having a gathering to invite me to? You know I’ll be bringing a little something (and I know where I’ll be shopping for it ;)…)
