2 stars, which to be fair is what they deserve, nice guys, but that only goes as far as the services they provide. So the plus, they worked really hard over the winter, between blizzards to replace our 3 layered 40+ year old roof. no the top layer wasnt 40 years old, but the 1st and second layers were super junked. I know code is 2 layers tops, but weve owned this house for only a couple of years. We contracted them and then went away for new years, when we came back there was a blizzard, but they dug out a work area all around the house plus plowed the driveway for the dumpster to go in. now if this was the end of it, they would have gotten another star. I was under the impression that the cape we own would have been x dollars for a new 30 year roof, disposal and all that, however, it really was 50% more than what the person who referred him to us(in the business) came out to be, the reason being those 3 layers of old shingles really add up with disposal, or so we were told. the work was quality, made it through the ice dams of ’11 with minor minor issues, nothing leaking or exploding. my problems all stems from the clean up. I request 4 times that the surrounding were to be picked up, nails removed, waste picked up, sounds reasonable right? i have kids now and they love to play in the yard, dont need them discovering what a tetanus shot feels like at this age. at last request, last week you know when the snow had gone away, the work crew spent 2 minutes scouring the land for errand nails, they did a crap job and ever since the job in december, i have been picking up nails and waste. Now, ive never paid for a new roof before so I am not sure if this is typical, you know, having to locate and pick up nails and junk after paying a small fortune, you judge for yourself.
