A nice atmosphere with Small World Coffee, a good variety of baked goods and some other food items on offer. Nothing exotic, but perfectly fine for a low-key, relaxing experience. For example the oatmeal is clearly instant oats. On the other hand it contains a generous helping of fresh, non-rancid walnuts and some delicious berries and only cost two dollars for a bowl. Try that somewhere in Princeton. And the music selection and volume are conducive to relaxation, conversation reading, what have you, while still carrying you along and creating a mood. They do have a policy of no laptops or tablets before 1:30PM on weekends and holidays. This is understandable, but perhaps the enforcement could use a little more discretion. I saw one of their employees bring the heat down on a guy clicking away on his laptop when the four adjacent tables were empty.

After a good meal down the street, a good coffee does the trick to keep me going. This little coffee shop(very little) has coffee as if it was made just for me. Even the little pastries make the coffee taste a bit better. This town sure has good things to offer. Thanks to my good friend Janet, hopewell will surely be a go to spot for lunch and coffee.

I lived in this area 4 years ago. In every way, I just loved the charm and simplicity of the Boro Bean. Delicious coffee, homemade muffins, and the best bacon egg and cheese bagel known to man. But what made it so good? The bacon!!! 4 years ago, they used thick cut bacon that was cooked to heavenly crispy perfection. I just returned for a visit this past weekend. Everything was the same. Still charming, still delicious everything, but I was sad to discover that they went for the cheaper, thinly sliced bacon which had no crisp at all. Utter disappointment… thus the 4 stars instead of 5. Please bring back the amazing bacon!!!

I have visited Boro Bean several times and have been thoroughly impressed by quality of food, atmosphere, and service on every occasion. Their muffins are without a doubt some of the finest I have tasted anywhere and they serve both traditional flavors(apple cinnamon, blueberry, cranberry orange, etc.) and intriguingly innovative ones(vanilla heath bar, for example). As my experience has shown, you really can’t go wrong with any of their muffin flavors — all are exceptional! Though my sampling of their menu has been limited to their delicious muffins so far, I plan on returning shortly to order one of their paninis, which seem rather acclaimed, judging by other reviews. I will update my review(likely to 5-stars) once I have taken a more comprehensive sampling of their offerings. Atmosphere is comforting and homey and has the cozy, familiar aura of the neighborhood coffee shop. In this day and age of mass-produced coffeehouses(ahem…Starbucks), this is quite refreshing to see! In addition, Boro Bean’s employees are examples of exemplary customer service — friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about their offerings. All in all, I would highly recommend to anyone even remotely in the general area. This is a great place to stop in after a nature walk in the Sourlands or one of the various other nearby nature preserves.

This coffee shop is the definition of cute and I wish I’d had time to get a proper meal there since everything looked great.(Everyone was eating the chili so it’s a good bet that it’s something tasty) The banana nutella muffin though, I did eat, and thoroughly enjoy.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating. I went with my 17-month old son on a Sunday morning and enjoyed an iced coffee, delicious blueberry muffin, and a very good Belgian waffle with fruit. Service was friendly but I wish they were a bit more proactive. I paid at the counter where they gave me the coffee and muffin. I still needed a high chair. With my son, it wasn’t easy to get the high chair, set him up, and take the muffin and coffee from the register. I ended up leaving the coffee and muffin at the register and set him up and came back. Luckily he was good with that.
