Our first visit there today, and we were pleased. We’d expected a fast food joint, and found a nice restaurant, large, clean and attractive. It was not a fine dining establishment, but we weren’t looking for that. Our food arrived hot, tasty and promptly. Our waitress Margie was attentive and delightful. We left well satisfied and likely to return.

Ordered the Meatloaf(Tuesday Special) for phone order pick up. They told me it would be 15 minutes, however, I was near by & there in 5. The window was so lined up that it was causing traffic on the street, so I just parked & went to the convent phone order wonder line. Within about a 10 min timeline(which they told me 15mins, so I was early), and happy to have my food ready to go! BUT, as I got my food, my meatloaf wasn’t even hot, nor was the gravy. Very disappointing considering that I went there to get a nice hot meal. The other thing that was disappointing, is that they don’t allow corn as a substitute for Mac salad as pictured in the online menu that I ordered from. Why have a picture for an online take out order if it’s ONLY allowed in dining? AND why not? Isn’t it the same kitchen? Corn is a much healthier option than mac salad, it should be allowed for the take out orders as well. I regularly have nothing but good things to say about Zippy’s Vineyard, but I’ve noticed a slight decline in the service there. I really do love the drive through window, perhaps it just needs better management?

Ordered the holiday special, turkey and ham, brown rice and toss salad. When it arrived 10 mins before everyone else’s meal, there was no cranberry sauce, but a glob of butter.

Great food that’s decently priced(though I’m not sure why this is called fast food? In the mainland it wouldn’t be considered fast food). As a tourist family that had been burning through our data, we were happy to have some free wifi at this location :) However the service was terrible and everything took ages for not even being that busy.

Korean chicken cold. You can tell it was precooked and they didn’t even have the courtesy to warm it back up. Got food poisoning an hour later. Never again

This zippys is fast with getting your order done. BUT food was cold like it’s been waiting in the back for awhile. When I got my chicken it wasn’t even hot, it was cold! I spent over 50 dollars here today and I hated this visit. Plus the person taking my order kept rushing me. Once I ordered the first plate she automatically sent it to the kitchen and told me the total for the order. It’s very common sense if you have 3 people with you, there will be 3 plates or around there. Disappointed! P

Must have my ZIPPYFIX whenever I come to the islands. In the old days, there were many restaurants that served good old comfort food. Unfortunately, they all slowly disappeared. Then there is ZIPPY’S. Good old fashion stew, Oxtail Soup, Fried Chicken, Loco Moco(Scramble eggs, Portuguese sausage, yummy), Saimin Noodles and of course — HOMEMADECHILE. Don’t forget the fantastic homebaked cakes and desserts here, too! People are always so friendly here… (Can you tell I really like this place?)

3 stars because of the actions of another waitress that we witnessed. We were seated right next to the service window. The whole time we were sitting there we saw a lot of food pilling up fast. Our waitress brought our food to our table right when it came out. The other waitresses and waiter did the same, except for this one waitress. She was older than the others and slower. She didn’t have a name tag in her shirt so I don’t know her name. Anyways, we saw her constantly putting food in the microwave before she put it on her tray. Now she wouldn’t have to do that if she picked up the food instead of letting it sit there. What made me feel that this one waitress would affect my review is when we saw her wipe the inside of the dishes with her fingers and bare hands before putting ice cream in it! That was it for us. Thank goodness she wasn’t our waitress.

Worst Zippy’s ever when you dine in. You name it… Time it takes to seat, get your drinks, take your order then finally get your food are horrible. Came in with a party of 8 people. Place was pretty dead and no one could even refill our drinks once. We just packed our things and left. I’ve dined in a few times to give this place a chance but it’s always the same. Take my advice and just order take out or don’t even go in to the dining room. Save the tips for the people working outside. They are very polite and actually get your food out quicker. I gave this Zippy’s 2 stars because of the drive thru and the location is near my place.

It’s the day after thanksgiving and we just wanted to pick up a zip pac size of mashed potatoes and gravy since we had hardly any left over. I was SHOCKED to find out its $ 8.00 plus tax for a large size soup container. That’s roughly 4 scoops of mash for $ 8.00 — RIDICULOUS! Be ashamed zippys. It’s bad enough that you keep raising the prices and lowering the portion sizes. But $ 8.00 for 4 scoops of mash? Shame on you.

What’s not great about Zippys. The good thing about this location is that I can call in my order from my car and swing by to pick up dinner on the way home. Perfect option for redeeming those Benefit Chili tickets, which I always forget I have until the day they expire. This location has also had some renovations in the recent past. Parking can be a little rough and you get your strange homeless customer every once in a while on the take out side. The dine-in side is like most zippys. Nothing special, but I give the staff some credit for having to deal with such crazy crowds of people(homeless, druggies, after First Friday crowds). But like I said, for a quick drive through pick up, you can’t go wrong.

It was my first time at Zippy’s after all of the times I’ve been to Hawaii, I finally have tried it. Simple fast food place to eat and run. I had the zip pack that consist of rice with furikake, teriyaki beef, spam, fried fish and a piece of fried chicken. I really liked their fried chicken. I think it had a lot of flavor. I wish I had tried the Korean fried chicken and their chili. I’ll save that for my next trip to the islands.

A dine in experience with Mom, what a great way to start the morning. Short stack and bacon, just enough for the old lady and one getting there. Coffee fresh and hot, service with a smile, price ok. Give this a five star experience today. Thanks Zippy’s. Much improved. Awesome

Had breakfast here a few weeks ago. This was my first Zippy’s experience. Breakfast was okay; nothing great but not bad. However, I had hash browns with my omelet. I asked for the hash browns to be cooked«well done». The first attempt was just the normal light brown. I returned them. The second and third attempts were pretty much identical to number one. Sent back two more times. Attempt number four was done properly. Yeah, I know these are mass produced and cooking the hash browns more than usual is unusual … but geez, you’d think after one fail, or maybe two, the cook would have«gotten» it. I’d go back for a quick ordinary breakfast. Maybe I have to show the cook how to properly cook hash browns«well done» in the future?

Here it is cut and dry: Big prices for small portions Quality(taste) of food does not match price and it’s literally food you can make at home, easily. My pastrami sandwich was about the size of an iPhone6 and an inch high, it was dripping it oil/butter and was so soggy. I orders onion rings with it and received about 7 on my plate. This combo cost $ 10, NOTWORTHIT. My boyfriend got a prime burger and the the club sandwich. The burger was just a burger, tomato, lettuce and onion. Doesn’t come with cheese and cost $ 9 something you could make at home yourself. The bread on his club sandwich was borderline brunt. Save your money, go to liliha bakery if your in the area and thinking about going to zippys. Liliha bakery is at most a 5min drive away, and wayyyy better.

Next Stop: Zippy’s ??? My most recent visit was a few weeks ago on a Saturday night after watching a movie at Ward Consolidated. Though there are many choices/eateries in the Ward area, my friend wanted the next stop to be Zippy’s. And so, we found ourselves on the way to the Vineyard location. Firstly, parking is limited and the restaurant was quite busy. Thus, we had to circle around the lot before we found someone pulling out of a space. NOTE: The actual parking lot is tiny. We parked in the overflow lot of the business next door. Be wary of the signs as they do list the time and days spaces are reserved. SIGH: The most disappointing aspect of this entire visit was when we checked-in at the restaurant side. We walked in and found two families of three waiting for their table and no hostess at the hostess stand. Instead, we found a clipboard where it seemed people were signing in, though there was no sign or person instructing people to do so. And so, I signed in for our party of two and waited for a table. Within five minutes of our arrival, the two families waiting were informed that their tables were available/ready. During this time, we continued to wait without being acknowledged at all. Multiple staff came into the host area for various reasons, but none so much gave us a glance or even a courteous«we’ll be right with you» toward our direction. As the minutes ticked on, other customers walked in the restaurant, including a young man and lady who also seemed confused as to why there was no host or hostess available/greeting people. FINALLY: A server eventually comes by to check the number of people signed up on the clipboard. The young lady proceeds to inform the server that they have a party of two, but instead the server asks her if she has signed in. The young lady’s response was that she did not because she did not know she was supposed to, and then proceeds to write her name in the next available space. After waiting possibly 15 – 20 minutes, my name is called and we are FINALLY seated. SERVICE: Our server was a very capable older lady. She allowed us enough time to look over the menu, and even checked with the kitchen to make sure which specials were still available that evening. Throughout the meal, she checked on us periodically, provided take out containers for leftovers, and returned multiple times with coffee refills. BOTTOMLINE: Not sure if my next stop will be Zippy’s Vineyard. I was very dissatisfied with the check-in process, but the service at dinner was satisfactory and acceptable.

This is the Zippy’s that took my Zippy’s virginity. Just like loosing your real virginity after eating my meal, I thought«that was it?» somewhat disappointed in the experience as I had been holding off so long to have my first bite of Zippy’s only to find out similar to teenage sex it wasn’t that spectacular. My friend ordered eggs and assorted breakfast meats and I ordered the often raved about chicken and waffles. I can assure you that I know this meal may have been better had it have been served hot, but alas… a bit of a let down. The server was nice and unlike dining at a Waffle House she had all her teeth so that was exciting… and just like at a Waffle House she slammed our check down. I hope just like sex in high school my meals get better should I return… maybe I just need practice?
