OMG ganbatte shot is really a risk, but we were so curious! It was pretty yuck unless you enjoy shooting some wasabi! We were fairly warned in the menu though! I stuck to the saketini’s and the other drink specials. Their special sushi rolls are really delicious and artfully prepared. We had one that had white miso drizzled on one side and red miso on the other. It was really yummy. The ambiance is also spot on with the«zen”-ness. I’m still loving this place!

ZenShu has been the trend for the past several UFC Saturdays. STYLE– Their Asian-fusion style menu features a variety of unique dishes including a generous selection of sushi, bar pupus, pizza, salad, and more. All dishes are made to be shared aka«family-style». FOOD– Everything my bf and I had tried was delicious: Sake Garlic Edamame($ 4) — Nothing too out of the ordinary, but Edamame is always great bar food. Okonomiyaki French Fries($ 5) — fries with okonomiyaki toppings Arabiki Corn Dogs($ 4) — 4 cute mini corn dogs made w/Arabiki sausage, served w/spicy ketchup. A must! Kabayaki Chicken Wings($ 7.50) — The Kabayaki sauce is delish. Lemon Caper Aioli Gezo Karaage($ 8.50) — fried calamari w/lemon caper Aioli glaze and lemon zest. My bf’s fave. Okonomiyaki Kim Chee Omu Rice($ 9) — Kim Chee fried rice omelet w/okonomiyaki toppings. Soooo good. And such a great dish for hangovers! Wok Fried Lemongrass Porkchops($ 12.50) — Very good with a slight citrus tang. Watch out for bones! Eek. Miso BBQ Kurobuta Pork Buns($ 13.50) — who doesn’t like meat in Chinese steamed buns?! Pulehu Shimo Steak($ 17.00) — 10oz. Rib Eye topped w/Portuguese sausage, onions, and mushrooms. Meat on meat! Great for meat lovers like moi. Wafu Tofu Cobb Salad($ 8.50) — w/an Ume ponzu dressing. My bf and I order this every single time. With extra dressing on the side please!(The dressing is on the lighter side.) Spicy Tuna Senbei(Specialty Maki)($ 10) — spicy tuna made w/crispy rice. Gotta try this. It’s kinda great! VERDICT– I am a fan. Not only has the food been great, service was outstanding every single time! I will definitely be back for more! I’m looking forward to trying more of their«specialty maki» sushi.

Hubby and I came here to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary. We got there for their happy hour special(Monday to Saturday 5pm to 6pm), which was 20% off all food items. Yes, that’s a great discount, so we went crazy ordering. Half way into the dinner, we had to cancel an item because we were getting TOO full. However, how’s what we ended up having: Amaebi($ 12) — 2 pieces of nigiri. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t use the shrimp head and make me a miso soup. Okonomiyaki French Fries $ 5) — Very good thick potato fries dressed with a sauce that’s very similar to takoyaki sauce, nori and ginger. Eat it while its hot! Ahi Yuuke($ 10) — Four GENEROUS servings of ahi tartar seasoned with Korean sauce, served with slices of cucumber, Fuji apple and raw quail egg. S.O.S. Roll($ 15) — Scallop on scallop roll. Not impressed. Totally would not order it again. Deluxe Chirashi($ 25) — Best chirashi ever! Lots of goodies including amaebi, uni, hamachi, ahi, squid, tamago, scallop, and salmon. It also comes with a serving of the ahi yuuke. We also wanted to try the Godzilla Oyster Shooter($ 20), but we were just too full to have anymore food. The restaurant gave us complementary green tea ice cream for our anniversary. It was very good, I wonder if it was from Dave’s. One more note, our server Wesley was super duper nice and accommodating, totally make our experience wonderful. We will definitely be back!

We were so busy enjoying the dinner that I forgot to take pictures! Excellent food, service & atmosphere! Creatively prepared and beautifully presented, we had a fabulous array of fresh flavors to tempt the pallet. I was so busy eating and enjoying not only the food, but the friendly conversation with the sushi chefs that I failed to note what each dish was… It was all delicious. The tempura was light and crispy, the sashimi fresh and tasty… we will definitely be back. Great service… just enough attention without being intrusive. We had sushi bar tonite, so you can expect it to be a bit prices… that’s how sushi bars are… I’d also like to try some of the meals… next time… they look moderately priced Parked at First Hawaiian Bank… on the walk over, there were several stall open on the street… not bad for a Saturday night. I HIGHLY recommend…
