5 star customer service 5 star portion of food CHOKE!!! 3 to 4 star taste, roast pork was a bit salty, chicken cutlet did not match with the roast pork, but was great. 2 to 3 star taste for the wife fried chicken tasted a day old and roast beef was tender and good, mac salad tasted like eating mayo. 5 star location plenty parking. 5 star price for quality of food Needed to edit based on wife review, for me I would give at least a 3 ½ maybe 4 star.

Got to try this lunchwagon as a recommendation from my co-worker. Ate the garlic chicken and boy it was very ono. Got to try part of the furikake fish and that was ono too. So glad got to finally try it after he kept talking about this place. Menu had so much variety didn’t know what to try until he kept saying garlic chicken is his favorite so garlic chicken it was. Good choice!

Stopped by one day when I was practicing for my license… BEST decision I’ve ever made! Their roast pork is hands down amazing! Some days they even run out because so many people order it! You Hungry? Heck. Yes!

Found the lunchwagon after the parking lot they were occupying had closed… it’s on SOUTH street, by a tree at a parking meter. No sign on truck tho. Missed the roast pork plate!!!

My husband and I were down in Honolulu and got hungry so I came to Unilocal of course. I saw this place that had crab stuff salmon. It was amazing great portions and awesome prices. The owner also didn’t have what I originally wanted, the pork roast, so she gave us both samples of the pot roast. Both dishes were amazing. Great find!

OK, I remember You Hungry when it was a little diner by the 7 – 11 on Atkinson. Or was it Broke Da Mouth? Anyway, it WAS broke da mouth and I was looking forward to a trip down memory lane but sadly, this truck didn’t take me there. We must have taken a wrong turn or something because it’s not the same. I had the garlic ahi with sweet wasabi sauce, brown rice, and tossed salad. Here’s my take… Da Good: The people in the truck were super friendly and helpful. They have a great menu with plenty of options and daily specials. The price is reasonable for a lot of food(the regular is large!). There’s a mini option. They have brown rice! They have tossed salad! The wasabi sauce is good and spicy! Food was hot. Da Not So Good: The ahi was overcooked and dry. The wasabi sauce was gross looking, like a bunch of runny gravy(but it tasted good!). There were no benches to sit on(OK, I’ll give them this since they are a truck, but I was hoping…). The tossed salad is all iceberg lettuce probably from a bag. Based on the majority of the other reviews, my experience might have been a fluke. I might give them another try some other day but for now, I’m Not Hungry!

I’m lucky enough to be able to get two meals from You Hungry some days! Woohoo. They do a great job customizing my meals for me to meet my dietary needs and its always really delish. Their fish dishes at lunch are super ono and always cooked just right. Hawaiian Foods are da winnahs and always super kind friendly service. They set up by the circuit court at lunch and always have a pretty steady stream of customers.

I came here on a whim, well for obviously reasons, too… I didn’t eat all day, Brah! Yup, I was definitely… YOUHUNGRY? Yeah, I stay hungry! So, I’ve passed this place several dozen times, maybe more, but if you know anything about South St. in Kaka’ako parking is very limited if non-existent. However, since this food truck is parked in that huge parking lot… It’s okay to pull your car into«that» lot, I think it is, but just make sure it’s next to that colorful truck called… YOUHUNGRY? Yeah, I stay hungry! After double parking in «that» lot nearest to the truck. I notice at least 3 – 5 people already standing in line, yet this is a good sign, right? No matter. I totally don’t mind waiting, so I don’t feel rushed ordering. The menu was easy to read and straight forward, so I decide between the hamburger steak and Korean garlic chicken. My go-to plates to decide if it’s decent local food! I chose the KOREANGARLICCHICKEN. I order the regular since it’s so dang it cheap shhhh like $ 6.00 taxes included! So, I toss in a Hawaiian Sun juice drink, even though the real juice content is maybe 10%… Oh well… It’s only $ 1 tax included! So, I got a full meal and drink for $ 7 taxes included! Did it satisfy my You Hungry stage? Try wait! So, a couple of weeks later I’m cruising the hood again with maybe a Hamilton in my pocket, oh and a Lincoln too! $ 15 for lunch yo! I then realize my cousin is riding shotgun with me and she’s a college student, so typically broke, and lunch is on me! Oh well, but I only have $ 15, yo! Oh yeah… YOUHUNGRY? Yup, so I head here again knowing I can be a big spender and get 2 full plate lunches and 2 «almost» juices for UNDER $ 15! So, this time around we order… HAMBURGERSTEAK(Regular) for me and ROASTPORK(Regular) for my poor college student cousin. I toss in 2 «almost» juices! Total cost $ 14 taxes included! YES! YOUHUNGRY? Hungry? Hah?! Not anymore! I’m not hungry after that mountain of food! No, it’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking to be well fed and want value beyond belief… Give this food truck a try! My overall verdict is as follows… KOREANCHICKEN: Good marination and flavor, but a few pieces kind of like jerky, still overall the meat was juicy and exterior very flavorful! GRADE: B– HAMBURGERSTEAK: Good flavor, but patties are smaller even though you get three! The gravy is typical local style brown gravy all over with onions & mushrooms! I’ve had better, but it was okay! GRADE: C+ ROASTPORK: Definitely the winner of the group! Tender pork cooked just right! A ton of local style gravy all over the place! Very, very good and generous too! GRADE: B+ All the plates come with rice and a choice of mac salad or toss greens w/dressing! The servings are generous and style can be described as typical BIGBOY Local Plates! Yes, I definitely recommend… YOUHUNGRY? Dakine’ place that will make you NOTHUNGRY! Ono grinds and generous too! Plus, it’s hella cheap! So, all you wannabe big spender college dudes… Grab a couple of plate lunches and drive down to the beach! Impress that girlfriend or boyfriend of yours… GUARANZBALLBARANZ! OVERALLGRADE: 4.0-STARS!(Dakine Solid!) UnilocalREVIEW #456/500

You Hungry? is located in a place quite convenient for me, so I’ve been several times. The staff are friendly and helpful, always suggesting something if they’ve run out of my first choice. The garlic ahi is my favorite — so good!

You Hungry? Umm, yeah! Oh wait, that’s the name of the food truck! But I am hungry. I remember many years ago when I first visited You Hungry, they had a restaurant across from the Convention Center, well before the Convention Center existed. I tried their mochiko chicken and remembered how awesome it was. Picking up lunch one day I saw the truck and I knew it had to be the same. You can’t forget that name! The cashier is super friendly, always smiling and letting you know what she has left(for all you late lunchers like me). I’ve had the crab stuffed salmon which I really liked the flavors where perfect. I’m not a salmon eater as to me salmon has that strong ocean flavor. I recently tried their blackened ahi with sweet wasabi sauce. All I can say is awww my lawd! It was beyond tasty! The seasoning on the ahi was impeccable, the sweet wasabi sauce was AMAZING! You still have a little of that wasabi kick, but it is perfectly balance. Be aware my spicy level is very high, so my «little kick» may be a bit more for those not used to spicy foods. I haven’t tried anything else, yet. I’m pretty stuck on the ahi and will eat there again today. Overall, service is great, food is FANTASTIC and I look forwarding to trying more of their menu.

Ordered Mushroom Chicken. It should be called Fried Chicken with gravy. Could not find any mushroom, only sliced onions.

Trying the garlic chicken and roast pork plates that other Unilocalers have praised. Don’t know where everybody parks. Should’ve read more reviews. Found steet meter parking. Wow! The cost for both regular size was under $ 13! I have to wait till I take my mom home before I can try it. Update: Delicious! Will definitely go again when there’s convenient parking.

You Hungry? We were and was glad to have stopped for some grindz. Menu selection was looking good(not only because we were HUNGRY) but deciding what to have was my challenge. Deciding between 2 plates they were very accommodating to let me do a mix plate. Had the Crab Stuffed Salmon & Garlic Ahi with Sweet Wasabi Sauce(see photo). SOONO! Excellent service and definitely recommend. Mahalo, «You Hungry?»

Unilocal 100 Challenge #53/100 I was just at the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Festival and when you’re not watching great music performances what else is there to do? Let me think. EAT!!! There were some food tents around and one of them was«You Hungry?» There was a plethora of Hawaiian food to choose from like squid luau(my fav), but I decided to try there garlic chicken. I’ve heard so much about it and wanted to see for myself how it was. My son and I opted for the mini which was $ 5.00 for one scoop of rice and 4 garlic chickens. After the first bite I was in love with this garlic chicken. It had that salty, sweet shoyu sauce on it which is like others I’ve tried, but it was that crunchy skin that was awesome! Just typing about it now makes me want to find that food truck now. The workers were very friendly and nice too, which is always a plus. They also took credit card too with their«square» payment system which is another plus. Overall, I want to try the other items for sure, but the garlic chicken is a winner. Winner, winner chicken dinner for sure!

Reasonable prices, good food, offers brown rice. Popular place; only 2 entrée choices left as late in the lunch hour.

Came here for lunch and ordered the crab stuffed salmon with no rice, all salad. The dressing options were ranch, Italian and thousand island. I opted for the Italian. The salad they use is the iceberg toss salad in a bag kind. At least they also offer brown rice. The dish was very«fishy.» I’m gonna assume they use frozen salmon but hey, what can you expect for $ 7? The ahi dishes are being substituted with basa until further notice. I must say that their customer service is great and they’re pretty speedy with your food.

Love this lunchwagon. Whenever I have to pick up food for the wife and her co workers this is my go to spot. They are very accommodating. I usually pick up 4 plates lunches(2 of the same type) and they pack it for me with all of the same meats in one container, all of the rice in another container and all of the salad in another container. This works out really well since everyone gets to pick at different things. The bonus for me is that it is really cheap. Service like this is also what makes me come back at other times when I am in the area. Also the food being really good too.

Excellent truck. I had wandered away from campus one day and gotten lost and hungry during a 2 hour break. I found this truck and it was great! Loved the mahimahi sandwich with wasabi sauce. Good prices too. I like how there is a mini-size so you don’t have to over stuff or carry food in a bag for the rest of the day. Con: please stop using styrofoam — it is bad for the environment.

I’m into trying all different lunch trucks as I can find them around town. I finally got to try You Hungry lunch truck. I hardly eat from this truck because of the location. I’d have to walk in the hot sun during noon to get to this truck. If there was a shaded path, I’d be buying from them more often. Garlic Ahi w/sweet wasabi sauce — 3 ½ stars — although the fried fish was cold and a little tough, the sweet wasabi sauce blended with the flavoring of the fish very well. I like the fact that they have a choice of white or brown rice to make it a more healthy dish, with salad or corn instead of macaroni salad. The brown rice was soft, and $ 7.50 was a pretty good price for a plate lunch with two good sized pieces of ahi.
