Dr. Yamauchi is hands-down the best chiropractor on this island. He was recommended to me by a former fighter so I thought that Dr. Y had to be the real deal if this athlete swore by him. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Dr. Y is how we want all doctors to be. Not only the best at what he does, but respectful, hilarious, and very professional. He is SO good at what he does that ALL of my friends and family now go to him for their issues(slipped disk, chronic lower back pain, whiplash, TMJ). One of my relatives went to him while on vacation here and is suffering on the mainland again, asking me to ship Dr. Y to him. There’s very little wait time, the office manager is wonderful and organized, the office manager or Dr. Y will always call you right back(if you leave a message) and find a way to help you asap. His office closes half-day on some days(I think it was Thursday and Saturday), but if it’s an emergency, he will be there. On a Thursday after he had closed and already gotten home, my neck troubles kicked in and I was paralyzed with pain. He drove back to his office and carefully got me able to function again. I couldn’t believe it – it’s like magic. When I apologized to him for making him come back all the way from the other side of the island, he said«that’s why I leave my number on the answering machine… for emergencies! If it hurts enough that you’re in tears, it’s an emergency.» Wonderful human being and equally wonderful doctor. Parking: There is parking in the garage(narrow stalls, be careful) and his office validates completely. I’ve heard from so many people that going to a chiropractor in general makes you have to go back to them repeatedly. Not true, at least in this doctor’s case. After being seen by him, I don’t return for a very long time unless something really unexpected or unusual happens that causes new pain.
