Bonnie owns this salon but I go to Angie. I’ve been Angie’s client for about 16 years, and the only word that describes Angie’s work is, Magic. It’s like our face is the painting, but her cut is the ultimate frame. Her eye for color is incredible. I always get compliments on the cut & color. And if you need to get dolled-up for a fun event, Angie also does make-up! The other hair stylists are super friendly, do excellent cuts, and I always feel like a guest-of-honor at a party whenever I go :) You’ll love Bonnie’s hair styling just as much, if not more than her fun energy and style(her fashion as well as how beautifully she decorated the salon). What are you waiting for? Go to the Hair Loft!!!

Um, okay. Yeah. One word? Awkward. So this review update is a little overdue… OK, VERY overdue. But I realize now that I need to write this, because after getting my hair done by Kat at The Attic Salon, I realize what should be done when getting my hair done. Seriously, the difference between Kat and Kayla are night and day, and I’ll tell you why, so get ready. A little overview for those who didn’t read my original review: I found Kayla on instagram, since she was becoming very popular(almost hypey lol), and she was known for her vibrant coloring and ombré/balayage styles. I wanted to do a blonde ombré with purple or blue in my hair(since she was known for her awesome«abnormal» hair colorings) so I set an appointment with her and got my hair done. Anyways, my last review was an awesome five stars, and some of the things I said, do in fact, still stand. Such as her having a good reputation, not making me wait(very prompt on my appointment time which was 12:30pm), and being very attentive to whether or not I wanted water, or anything to eat. OK, so first I’m going to explain what Kayla did, and then contrast it with how Kat took care of my hair and the differences between them. So I told Kayla when I got there that I wanted a blonde ombré with a LIGHT purple/blue color going through my hair — I did note in my original review that she explained to me about what she could/couldn’t do to my hair, HOWEVER she did not follow through. I remember sitting there for an hour+ with bleach in my hair in order to get my hair to the blonde I wanted. At the time of the bleaching, I did not, however, realize how damaging it could be to my hair. She did put in a «tint» of violet in my hair, that I wasn’t able to even recognize after(not even) a week. My hair ended up ~fading~ to an unhealthy blonde ombré which(in the end) had to be chopped off because of the terrible damage Kayla did to my hair. She also did not explain to me the process of what she was doing, nor did she show me my hair straightened — she showed it to me curled/styled.(You may not think this is important, but it is…) And honestly, with all the bleaching she did, the end photos were not blonde at all. You wouldn’t even believe that she bleached my hair at all. Alright, so long story short, Kayla was very nice, and she attempted to give me what I wanted in one session. NOW, onto my new hair stylist Kat at The Attic Salon. If you’ve read my review for her already, that’s awesome! But I’d still recommend to continue to read because I have some insight for all you girls/guys who want to get their hair done. Firstly, going to a new hair stylist, I’ve learned a lot about hair styling since then: 1. No one should ever tell you that your hair will«fade» to any other color.(unless it is a fashion color such as pastels or other abnormal(red, blue, green) colors that will obviously«fade» in terms of brightness) The end result of your hair should be exactly what they tell you that you have. 2. You will NOT go from jet black hair to a full head of HEALTHY blonde hair. This is my mistake, I attempted with Kayla(with no warning) and ended up having my hair become literally like straw and having to chop it all off. 3. If you want to go lighter with your hair, always do it in sessions in order to uphold your hair integrity(This is VERY important to Kat and she would never steer you wrong in terms of keeping your hair as healthy as possible) 4. The stylist should show you what your hair looks like with naturally and styled. Because styling your hair can hide a lot of the mistakes made(if there is any) in your hair. Plus that, your hair will not always be styled, so don’t you want to see what it would look like on a daily basis? Kat was super realistic with me, and she made it clear that I wouldn’t go from my crazy red head to a beautiful blonde ombré(which I am finally at now), in one session. She talked me through the whole process, every single time I came into see her. It took 3 sessions to get me where I am now, but I am so happy, and I have the length, and health in my hair that I didn’t achieve with Kayla. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that Kayla does an awesome job on other peoples hair, but for me — it just wasn’t what I asked for/wanted. Anyways to wrap this up — this update is just for you folks who want to get their hair done and go lighter with your hair– but please don’t make the same mistake I did… Which was risking the health and integrity of my hair to achieve a look that I’d never be able to get in one session.

I’m a pretty low maintenance kind of girl. I’m just too busy with work to worry about my hair, nails, etc. :P However a new year is approaching! Its time to care: P I guess it’s a girl thing really, for a new year means its time for a ‘new look’. First thing on my list to change is my hair of course! Location: The Hair Loft is located on king street. Across from the Sherwin Williams paint store. They are on the second floor of the two-story walk up building. If your walking up to the place and still felling confused, just look for the windows with the sticker decals that say ‘The Hair Loft’ lol, easy peasy ;D The Cut. I made an appointment with Kayla. She was super helpful with helping me find a style that works for me. Decided to go with the popular ombré style. She trimmed only an inch off because I like the length of my hair and just wanted to get rid of those ugly split ends. She also fixed my bangs and layered my hair. THANKSKAYLA.

I have been going to Bonnie for almost 20 years. She is the only person I trust to get my color right. A visit to her shop is always a postive and enjoyable experience.

I’m not sure why this says it is closed, but I went there to get my nails done and it was awesome… I got Cal-gel nails done by Phuong, and 3 weeks later, they still look beautiful, and I haven’t been that careful with them. The atmosphere is clean, comforting and friendly. Phuong is sweet and will convince you of the superiority of Cal-gel over acrylic nails, both the short term benefits for the health of your nails and the long term health benefits overall for both you and her…
