It’s not cheap but the food is good, and great for sharing. Went here with friends and ordered 4 dishes with drinks. Our total came out to $ 104+tips. Would probably come back with a group, not for a two people date.

Sadly I am not 21 so I can’t purchase any alcoholic beverages, but I still enjoy coming here. It has a nice chill vibe to it and it doesn’t make you feel like you only came for the drinks. The service was alright it was outstanding since our waitress didn’t fill up our water bottle until we were about to leave. I recommend getting the garlic chicken and the cheese dokbokki. Out of the times I went the cheese was kind of burnt… But yeah parking is in the rear and the wait is short.

Would give 2.5 stars if there was the option. I am afraid I will have to go full Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde on this place. I really love the soju drinks here, but really hate the food! Let’s first start of with the good: fruity soju drinks. I originally came here with my friends because they raved about the soju drinks. And boy were they right! Our table shared the pineapple soju and it was marvelous. Our drink came in a real pineapple with the inside carved out. We were able to ladle our own portions. The best part about this drink however was the fresh pineapple juice that was mixed with the soju. There was the perfect amount of sweetness and you could barely taste the alcohol(which I prefer). After tasting the delicious pineapple soju, my night took a precipitous fall from there. I am not a picky person at all, but the food here was too mediocre for the prices. My friends and I shared the pork chop dish and crispy chicken. Both dishes were crispy as expected, but they were horribly bland and dry. We had so much pork chop left over, yet no one wanted to take it home, which is a telling sign. I would recommend going to dinner somewhere else then returning for evening drinks.

Came here between 6:30 –7pm last week Friday. The drinks and food was so delicious. We has STP, all flavors of the Magic Cloud, Hello Kitty Shots, Set A & B with the soju shots, and I don’t remember what else we had for the drinks. As for food my friends and I considered it like«pupu» style. We all shared the garlic chicken, Kimchi pancake, and mandoo. SOOGOOD and filling too! The service though was alright or eh. When we came we didn’t have to wait at all for a table which was awesome and they took our order right away… after that it’s like we barely saw our waitress and waiter again.(I think we had 2 different people helping us) They kept asking us for our menus but we wanted to keep it to keep ordering because we were constantly ordering. They asked us 3 or 4 times and one time the guy actually took it away and we said we wanted it. You also always have to flag someone down for anything, even if it’s for water. The place isn’t that big so it’s either they’re short on staff or they’re running all over the place doing something. Also! When my friend and I went to the bathroom we saw an older Asian lady who works in the back probably in the kitchen from the restaurant and SHEDIDN’T EVENWASHHERHANDSWHENSHELEFTTHESTALL. Like if you are one of those employees who washed their hands in the back, at least do it in the bathroom too so your CUSTOMERS who EAT your food see it. 4 stars is pretty much for the drinks and food. It is a nice environment to hang out with friends or even a date, the service could be improved a bit but we’ll definitely be coming back.

Finally came to try this place out. And I couldn’t miss out on trying the cute cotton candy drink of course! If you’re looking for a place to hang out with friends over some drinks and food this is the place to go. BUT it does get a bit pricey. The food portions here are good for sharing :). Their menu is something out of this world I must say. Nothing like it anywhere else besides the newly opened Million Pocha(?) They have really cute drinks and it’s worth trying! Of course I got the cotton candy in peach beach and I must say it was pretty fun to eat brought back childhood memories of eating cotton candy at carnivals. Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back here. The atmosphere is great and a fun place to hang out!

Came here for a girls night, waited about 15 mintues until we realized that there was a service button… lol Alcohol and cotton candy! Need I say more? They have a bunch of soju drinks as well. Musubi Gamble: An order of 6 small size musubis but the catch is one of them has wasabi in them get it… gamble? Lol And they do a great job at hiding the wasabi with furikake… smartys. Garlic Chicken: Great sauce, crispy served with salad. I had a couple bites but I was too caught up with my drink and gossip lol. Happy Eating.

My review is mostly based on the food and the service, the drinks definitely were the heroes tonight. Let me start with the service: I sensed an attitude from our waiter right from the get go. First of all, I made a reservation for 6pm which they accommodated graciously. Okay, fine. However when I got there, they wanted to put us on a teeny tiny table which I knew could barely fit our two dishes, plus drinks, and silverware. When I asked to be moved, the waiter with a stern voice mentioned«you need to wait.» Sure, no problem. Also not to mention, while waiting for my friend to arrive, I ordered my drink and it took 15 mins(STP cocktail.) My friend and I ordered the apple soju which was terrific. Initially I thought it would’ve been too overly sweet but it was delicious. Food: Sadly, this was not the first time where I left disappointed with the food. My friend and I had the garlic chicken and dukbboki. Although the garlic chicken did not have much flavor, it was cooked perfectly. The texture was nice and crispy, the meat was also juicy, unfortunately it just wasn’t seasoned well. The dukbboki was not good. Thank q pocha is a chain restaurant in Korea so I expected it to be fairly decent. I’m not sure why the dukbboki was so horrible… It did not remind of the rice cakes I had in Korea. Not to mention the dish was already room temperature by the time it got to our table. Fail. At least I left full. Would I come again? Maybe. The restaurant is in a very convenient location so I might be back for the drinks. Oh, another postive about the booze here was that the Stella was on point. It was also served in the proper glasses which definitely hightend the taste, that was a nice touch.

(More like 3.5 stars) After a fellow Unilocaler explained to me that Pocha is short for pojangmacha and refers to a street food vendor(like those seen in Korean dramas), everything suddenly made sense. That’s why it’s named as it is! Haha anyway, the food at Thank Q Pocha is, as its name implies, pretty simple street food dishes, but what better type of food to eat with drinks? My friend made a reservation on a Saturday night at 6(good move. The place gets crowded!), and was first seated at a small table, then moved to a larger table upon request. We started with the apple soju(served in a cored apple. So cute!), which was really really sweet and addicting(also dangerous in that respect), then ordered the regular dukbokki and garlic chicken. The food sadly wasn’t as good as the soju. The dukbokki was slightly cold(like straight out of the freezer cold and merely thawed in the hot sauce), and the sauce was just spicy, but tasted only alright. The chicken also wasn’t the best we’ve ever had; while it was tender, it was quite bland with minimal garlic flavor. Although the quality of the food isn’t spectacular, the quantity is reasonable. I left full and happy(and slightly tipsy due to the beer with which we ended the meal) :) Only cons of the restaurant would be the slow service(friend ordered a STP and didn’t get it until a long time later), as well as the bathroom. The women’s bathroom isn’t terrible(unlike the men’s, according to my companion), but you have to walk around the building and it’s kinda sketch. However, we were there for the drinks and food, so all is well. Would probably come here again, but more for the drinks than for the food. Based on the reviews, the drinks that make Thank Q Pocha popular are pretty sweet, but they’re just so adorable! Have to try one of those next time, in addition to another type of soju!

Got a chance to try out this place after hearing a few friends rave about it lately. Located on Kapiolani Boulevard nearby the Bank of Hawaii Building at Ala Moana, Thank Q Pocha is a restaurant/bar with a Korean atmosphere. My party came in at opening, as I’ve heard it can get quite busy early on. There was a good amount of seating available, it really didn’t pick up till about 7pm. They are definitely known for their specialty drinks. Quite an assortment of soju drinks and cocktails. I settled on getting a strawberry soju, which is served in a big glass and topped with whipped cream. Very interesting, to say the least. though I think the whipped cream was there to make the drink seem larger than it really was. They also have drinks topped with cotton candy, which I may try some other time. The food was decent. Standard bar food. The kimchee pancake was my favorite. Parking can be tough. Either park in the back parking lot or at Ala Moana. The only issue I have is the speed of service. Even when it’s slow, the servers do tend to not be very attentive. To remedy this, they so have a call button to get their attention. A small issue, but not a deal breaker. I’d definitely love to come again.

Unilocal 100 Review Challenge 2015: 125⁄100 Our party of 10 hit up Thank Q Pocha on a late night Saturday evening. The little lot behind Thank Q Pocha fills up quickly and the stalls are tight! Luckily we had reservations for 9pm and they sat us at two booths that were conjoined. The first thing I noticed was how dark it was inside, even with the Christmas light decorations, the restaurant was so dark. The music is LOUD which makes everyone shout and after 2 ½ hours of dining, my throat was left raspy. Between my fiancé and I, we shared & finished the Garlic Chicken($ 8) and Kim Chee Fried Rice($ 14). We ordered the soju sampler also. The Kim Chee Fried Rice was a bit too spicy for my taste(but it’s Kim Chee so I should’ve expected spicy — duh!) and I didn’t appreciate the spam chunks inside, but my fiancé loved it. The cheese and egg was the best part for me! The Garlic Chicken was okay as they came in popcorn chicken size with a side of cabbage. And I enjoyed the 4 sampler shots because they taste like they’re made with REAL fruits! But the lemon one was a bit too sour for me. The rest of our party ordered drinks and they all looked generous and delicious for their price! As we left Thank Q Pocha, it was already 11:30pm and a crowd had gathered outside waiting to dine. Wow, what a popular restaurant! My only gripe with this place is that the next day my fiancé & I had horrible indigestion. I won’t be so quick to blame Thank Q Pocha but it’s in the back of my mind. All in all though, great place to have drinks with friends & share food pupu style.

Finally got to try this place out recently with a few of my friends. I honestly came here just for the cool drinks. They have some pretty unique ones like one with a shark inside or cotton candy on top. My friends and I decided to try the banana makgeolli which I think is a rice drink. It came in a big pitcher and bowls to drink from. This was a first for us! It tasted just like a banana smoothie. You could barely taste any alcohol which can be good but dangerous. My friend and I each got a cotton candy drink. Definitely pic worthy but the drink itself was too sweet for me. My favorite drink of the night was the apple soju which you drink out of an apple! Super good and taste just like apple juice! We ordered a few food items. The gizzard was good and came with lots of garlic! Super yummy. The kimchee pancake was good as well but I think that would be hard to mess up. The toppoki with cheese was alright. I’ve had better. And the kalbi was yummy and a pretty decent amount. Service seemed to be slow at times but overall thought the place was pretty good.

Thank Q Pocha is the land of super sweet girly drinks and fobby drunk food consisting mostly of carbs and cheese. Our group had the Kimchi Pilaf with Cheese, Korean Popcorn Chicken(mild version), and the Gangster Toppoki with mandoo and fried seaweed, all which fall into the pretty good/not bad category. The only thing I didn’t care for were the Thank Q Balls with spicy pork, and no one else in the group had anything remarkable to say about those. Overall, Thank Q Pocha’s menu is certainly not the most interesting or sophisticated Korean drinking food I’ve encountered, but I enjoyed myself and I’m sure had I’d been drunk, everything would have been awesome. That brings me to the cocktails, which were all ridiculously sweet and alcohol weak, making it impossible to get that good buzz required to fully appreciate Thank Q Pocha’s cheesy carby drunk food. The peach magic cloud cotton candy drink undoubtedly looks cool but tastes exactly like childhood diabetes at the 50th State Fair, and the melon soju was merely melted ice cream and melon froth. I could not drink either of those because they were way too sweet. As for the apple soju — I’m not going to lie, I really liked the apple cups, but it just tasted like plain apple juice. Had this place been around 10+ years ago, I would have LOVED these overly sweet and low alcohol content drinks which are perfect for underage girls or those relatively new to art of getting shitfaced. Unfortunately, if you are like me now and can no longer handle the sugar and a weak buzz, stick with the traditional drink menu. Service is fine. Parking in the lot is limited depending on the time of day you visit.

This review is long overdue… Came here for dinner for a girls night out and I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was great, however the service was lacking. We ordered the Kimchee Fried Rice, Fried Chicken, and Bulgogi in a hot pot. The prices are a little steep, but because it is family style, the portions were big. Everything we ordered was delicious and I would recommend the Bulgogi hot pot. You get to cook the hot pot and serve yourself which is a different experience. There’s long rice noodles inside and lots of leeks which gives the dish a special touch. Our dinner was over two hours long. After our food came out, none of the staff came out and checked on us. We had to get up and ask for our check. We split the bill amongst the 5 of us. All of us placed cash and one of the girls used her credit card to pay the rest of the bill off. When my friend received the bill to sign off on, we noticed that it was short $ 20. We let the staff know and they had to go through the entire register to find the extra $ 20 which took some time. Overall, without this experience, I think it would be a pleasant place to have dinner.

The first thing that you would like at this place is the cotton candy machine that they have! Cotton candy goes a long way to making this place special. Of course the food and service is great. If you are looking for Korean spicy. they can do Korean spicy. The sweet Korean chicken is very sweet and not what I was expecting at all. It is much different from a sweet Korean garlic chicken. This one seems like it was coated in a sugar glaze with another sauce.

Thank Q Pocha was pretty good. The food was good but what people go there for are the drinks. They’re really fun looking and some are pretty tasty. We tried a few different drinks: Apple Soju, Pineapple Soju, Peach cotton candy drink, and shark attack. The apple soju came with apples(with the middle dug out) to use for cups. This one is dangerous because it tastes like apple juice. So yummy! The pineapple was good too! The Peach cotton candy drink had good flavor and it was garnished with cotton candy! It was so cute. Lastly, the Shark Attack was a BIG drink and there is a toy shark that they have the red syrup that they pour out into your drink and it looks like blood pouring out from the sharks mouth(hence the name Shark Attack). This drink was fun to see, but waaayyyy too sweet! I felt like I was drinking shave ice syrup straight up. Sugar overload!!!

Here’s the info… Parking lot located in the back — Kona Street entrance or enter from Kapiolani. Restaurant is entrance is on Kapiolani side. Restrooms — ask for the keys. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant around the corner in the back of the building. What I love about this place is their drinks. Super pretty, tasty, but also very pricey. My favorite magical cloud is the beach peach. You can eat the cotton candy or you can push it into your drink. Either way, it’s delicious. My favorite soju is the apple soju because they come with apple cups. I also love the shark attack too! Omg too many choices and I want it all. Foodwise, I haven’t found a chicken dish that I like yet. Their best dish is their kimchee fried rice with cheese. Soooooo good. It’s rich and heavy with all the cheese so keep in mind when eating. It’ll be really easy to over eat cause it’s so good and addicting.

Decided to try this place out after seeing some pictures of their drinks on Instagram(I’m a sucker for pretty drinks lol) I got a cherry cocktail that came with cotton candy… It was pretty good! I pushed the cotton candy into my drink and watched it dissolve. My bf and I also got the Kim chi fried rice and it was so good :) it was really filling, and the egg on the Kim chi rice surrounded by cheese was soo good! The best part, is after the gooey top layer of cheese is eaten, you can peel off the hardened/cooked cheese on the sizzling plate and eat it. It’s so crunchy and yummy :) I can’t wait to come back and try more of their food, their Apple soju(in real apples), and that drink with the shark in it lol I would definitely recommend this place

This was a fun experience! There are Korean music videos, great service, yummy food, and novelty drinks! Thanks to my Unilocal friends who explored this new place with me! I drove past this Korean bar several times on my way to Ala Moana Shopping Center. I noticed it because of the orange wording and interesting name. Located on the right side of Kapiolani Boulevard as you head towards Waikiki, go slowly and turn in to the driveway right before the building. There are free spaces on the side and in the back. Ailana Shave Ice shares the parking lot with Thank Q Pocha. When I got there, I was hungry. I studied the menu and decided to order the Garlic Fried Chicken and the Pork Chops. My friends weren’t there yet, so I checked out the restroom — kinda spooky. It was outside and around the building. I would be afraid to go by myself if it was dark. There was a Security Guard and I did have a key, but I still felt uneasy. I returned to our table. The waiter showed me the storage capability of the seat. It’s very practical for storing your purse or jacket! I was also shown the service button — each table and booth has one! Cool! Some friends weren’t able to come at the last minute, so we moved to a booth against the wall with bench seats. There was more privacy and it felt more comfortable than being in the middle of the room on a stool. I liked the contemporary, modern ambiance! I also liked the food — maybe because I was hungry, but maybe also because I ate it right away when it was fresh and hot! The garlic chicken was my favorite dish, and that’s saying a lot because chicken is not my favorite. I also enjoyed the plump and tasty man doo and the crispy edges of the kim chee pancake! I couldn’t handle the spicy sauce of the pork chop and was glad that the sauce was served on the side. I wasn’t able to eat the Toppoki with Cheese — liked the cheese, but did not like the spicy kick. Sorry. The drinks were really fun! I got the Shark Attack because I read about the«blood» getting poured into the drink! The server had a toy shark filled with a red liquid. From its mouth, the«fake blood» seeped into the large glass of blue slush and then the shark(head first) plunged into the drink — so amusing! Too bad we didn’t get to keep the shark! LOL! My friend got Set B of the Soju sampler. Her favorite was the pomegranate. It also came with yogurt, lemon, and yuzu flavors. They were all on the tart side to me. I really liked my other friend’s drink: Thank Q Soma. It had a raspberry liqueur — yum! Next time, I would like to get a drink with a «Cloud»(cotton candy). The Lemon Drop was recommended, but I think I’d like the peach flavored one. I was also interested in the Apple Soju since it comes in a real apple cup… next time… The main reason for a non-five-star review is the price. $ 8 for a drink seems a bit pricey, but they were large glasses and quite potent. The novelty, the service, and the ambiance was worth it. It’s a clean, trendy place in a convenient location with free parking. Once in a while, it’s a nice treat — I would go again!

My friends and I have been coming here since its opening. You could tell the place was going to be pretty legit from the get go since 95% of the customers were Korean. Fast forward a few months, the secret is out; hello long wait times and food shortages. That being said, we all really like it here and keep coming back despite our struggles. Having come here so many times, we’ve tried a lot of the offerings on the menu, but over time, have definitely found our go to items, the top of that list being the pork cheese ribs. A year or two ago in Korea, people started making spicy ribs and plating them up in hot grill plates of melting cheese serving them with some plastic gloves and an apron. This place is the only one who had the genius to that to Hawaii. The past few times we’ve gone, we tried to get the ribs, only to be shut down, but I’m glad to say that we finally got them again tonight. We also like the mandoo, cheese ddeokbokki, wang tonkatsu, and popcorn chicken. The spicy pork was pretty good too. Our only not so good experience was the spicy chicken — we can handle spicy, but this was pretty ridiculous. We were troopers about it though, straight tanked it and paid for it the next day. Another plus about this place is the alcohol. While it’s a little pricey, it’s worth it. If you were visiting for the first time, I’d recommend the banana makgeolli or fruit soju, pineapple or apple are best. The banana makgeolli actually uses real banana which was surprising as I would have totally been fine with some boxed Korean banana milk mixed into a cheap bottle of makgeolli from down the street. All in all, I hope this place lasts because it’s become one of our default dinner spots. Maybe they’ll keep following the Korea popular food trends and keep bringing in new menu items.

Set amidst the hustle and bustle Kapiolani and at the beginnings of Korea-moku lies a little establishment with a bright sign, Korean wording and«Thank Q.» What? What kind of place is this? Is it a store? Is it a restaurant? What? A few days later, pictures begin to emerge and you see some rather interesting dishes that seem to come straight out of the streets of Seoul. The fried mandoo is pretty respectable with a very generous portion of pork nestled in its wonderfully fried pi. The bulgogi rice was pretty respectable with the sweet flavors mixing with the charred rice. The bulgogi beef with bean sprouts was a little overwhelming with the amount of sprouts that came with the dish. While the fried chicken was nothing to sneer at with nice crisp skin and a warm and still steaming moist center. All were decent, but a little lacking in flavor. It was ok, but could have used a little more seasoning and a little more flavor over all to give you that bold bite you want. Drinks like apple soju served in a freshly hewed out apple is impressive. The makgeolli is pretty legitimate and reminds me of similar drinks I had in Korea. Service is one of their shining moments and their staff are quick and efficient. Very helpful and knew their menu well so that they could provide guidance on the dishes. If we needed something, they were there. It was pretty stellar and very on point. We arrived a little early so we beat the line that seemed to form as the dinner hour took hold. Parking is available in the rear or in the driveway area as you enter from Kapiolani boulevard. All in all it was good. Not great. Was it the most authentic Korean meal I’ve had? No, but it wasn’t bad. Nor was it the worse. It is definitely worth checking out once for the experience and come to your own conclusion.
