They performed at our wedding back in 2011. Awesome performance. All our guests enjoyed it. My friend ended up using them at her wedding as well.

I just got married on Valentines day. I did all the planning myself & was looking to incorporate our ethnic cultures. My husband is half filipino so I wanted to do a filipino dance with him but he refused. I somehow came across the Tekniqlingz page on Unilocal when I was searching for my lion dance. It was perfect, I called & booked Gabe & the Tekniqlingz crew a week before the wedding. They arrived on time and was very professional. Gabe explains everything to our guests & really gets the guests involved. We even got up to dance with them. It was fun & our guests really enjoyed their performance. I loved how they do the traditional & modern hip hop & street dance. Its really different and fun.

Tahitians have the Tahitian dance. Chinese have the Lion Dance. Hawaiians have the hula. Filipinos? Well, we have tinikling. Tinikling involves two long bamboo sticks that are tapped and clapped together in rhythm while dancers gracefully dance over and between the bamboo sticks. The tinikling is a dance imitating the tikling birds, to which the dance is named after. The tinikling is a very traditional dance in the Filipino culture. For anyone who’s ever seen tinikling, you’ll know that it’s a dance that requires precision timing and focus. With the possibility of getting your ankles smacked in between two hard bamboo poles, this dance not only keeps the dancers on their toes but audience as well. Tekniqlingz is group of young dancers that do an innovative fusion of traditional Filipino tinikling and hip hop. Their dancing is a great mix of old and new. Tekniqlingz is definitely a crowd-pleaser! I’ve seen some of their performances on YouTube and was rather impressed with their fancy footwork and integration of edge and hip hop to a rather traditional dance. The performances I watched were very noteworthy of any national group dancing competition or showcase. It’s simply exciting and riveting. With a week to my wedding and no formal entertainment, I decided to ask Gabriel of Tekniqlingz if they could perform at my wedding. I had a performance idea in mind and was hoping they could comply. I asked if they could dance to a certain song, a performance I watched them do in one of the videos. He was honest and said that he couldn’t make any promises, but on my wedding night I, along with my guests at the Kahala, got a wonderful treat. They were dressed in the usual Filipino attire worn for the dance. The performance started with a traditional Filipino song with stringed instruments playing in a quick waltz beat typical for this dance. My guests enjoyed their performance, gasping and saying«wow» as the dancers danced over the chomping bamboo poles. Then…the music morphed. Black Eyed Peas came on, and the beat for their song Bebot dropped… and so did the house. Their dance moves got so fancy and intricate, it was crazy! They were dancing while standing on their hands doing handstands. They threw in some breakdancing moves! All while avoiding the bamboos. My guests were on their feet, squealing and cheering with excitement, wondering, «Oh my gosh! Is he seriously doing that?» It was nothing short of amazing. My request? Fulfilled to the fullest! At the end of their performance, my guests applauded and hollered. They were so impressed… as was I, the bride who was in her wedding dress looking lady-like and demure and, yet, was hooting and hollering like a drunk in a bar. Their performance really was fantastic. I would highly recommend Tekniqlingz for any of your parties or events. They will be a crowd favorite. Their performance will be exciting, jaw-dropping, and memorable. You will not regret it.

The Jolliebee Kid doesn’t just hold the title of consecutively dining at Jolliebee for 100 days straight but he is also a true performer. He is one of the original Tekniqlingz crew member and the leader. Through dance Gabriel along with his crew help perpetuate the Filipino American culture through show casing their skills of traditional Philippine folk dance and hip hop. Ever since America’s Best Dance Krew(Jabbawockeez, Kaba Modern, Super Krew {Hawaii}, other Filipino dance crews) and Dancing with the stars(Cheryl Burke) came out. People assume that since I’m Filipino I can dance. My husband easily fits this assumption: /I on the other hand can barely clap to the rhythm of the music! Even though I’m born with two left feet, I wanted to do a surprise dance for my wedding. Since I had planned a Filipino themed wedding I wanted to dance to a Filipino dance. Luckily, my sister knew someone in the Tekniqlingz crew. She explained to me that they did traditional Filipino dances as well hip hop infused with the tinikling. A link describing what tinikling is: Gabriel along with Riva and Micah helped me(my husband easily learned the dance moves) somehow magically get me to do some crazy moves with those bamboo sticks. Getting your foot caught in the bamboo hurts. I know getting your hands smashed countless of times by a rhythm less girl is even worse. All of them were very patient, kind, and helpful. Once I was able to get the beat of moving through the sticks Gabriel would teach me something that I thought I could never do. Once I mastered that then he would teach me something even harder. The week of our wedding he added something extra. Gabriel is a mad man I tell you. But he just wants the best out of you. My husband and I were actually the first couple that Gabriel choreographed a surprise dance for a wedding. I heard that Gabriel taught several couples after us. Here is a clip of our surprise wedding dance: The Tekniqlingz crew also performed several Filipino dances and ended with a grand finale of a hip hop modern Filipino dance at my wedding. Traditional tinikling: Modern and Hip hop performance by the Teckniqlingz: Family, friends, and guest s from our wedding would always mention our surprise dance every time I saw them for months. I liked my experience with the Tekniqlingz crew so much that I decided to book them for my son’s 1st birthday, they did a great job. They also provided an MC that talked about each dance. They additionally surprised Paul and me to come up to the stage to give a sample of the dance. My husband was easily able to do it and of course I barely could. You can reach Gabriel by Gmail at
They also have a Facebook page, twitter page, and forum. Here is their main website: This is a link to watch all their latest performances: The Tekniqlingz offer a different type of entertainment, that will sure to please your guests, and have them talking for years to come. Gabriel is very professional, reliable, and easy to talk to. He’ll give you the confidence to dance even though you’re just born with two left feet.
