If you haven’t dined in at Tapa’s before, then you’re missing out on a lot! Their menu offers a lot, but you should try one of their daily specials like I did tonight of Texas Chili(steak chunks without beans) with a scoop of Brown Rice and Corn On The Cob!

Ok so this is my first time here and I got the prime rib and pot stickers I wants to say the food is great I am surprised it doesn’t get busy. I will be back because they have lots of choices and not just fried food. The food is prepared so well and the service is so great and they take care of you. Most restaurants in Waikiki don’t have great service but this place does. I will be back.

Yeah, the food is great but I don’t know how they can survive if no one dines here. More publicity is definitely needed, as many nights the dining area is completely empty. It’s great to have a gay restaurant in Waikiki, but I’ve never seen more than one table occupied at dinner time. The food is well prepared and a terrific value and everyone should give it a try.

Went to meet some if the girls here last night only being my second time here. Anyways karaōke book sucks cuz its kinda hard to find songs bt u also can look on there website for songs which is easier. The bartender was super duper nice bt he didn’t know how to make a mandori sour. Bathrooms sucks. Bt I think it’s a good dive bar to start off the night. Plus too the ppl are super friendly & they have American Idol stars singers at tapas lol. Hopefully my next visit will be better.

This was our second stop for our cousin’s night out and this place is great! It’s a hidden gem in the back of a building. The place is a little small, but the workers here are wonderful! Very attentive, patient with our drunk selves, and very friendly! We came here for the karaōke which is in a separate room, which was actually pretty big! It was $ 1/song but the sounds were booming! The drinks they had us try was yummy, too! I still can’t get it out of my head!

Atmosphere is great as well however there remodeling right night. I can see were there going with their remodel and I have a feeling it’s going to look great. If you haven’t been here you might want to check it out. Great drinks plus Karaōke in an amazing location.

Descent Mai tai. Cheap !!! Super friendly atmosphere. Smoking allowed on balcony. Good pool table. Great karaōke selection. Life foundation supporters. Good bar. And yes it’s a gay bar… just in case you were wondering. But still a great place to stop off for a cheap drink :-)

I finally got a chance to check out Tapas. ATMOSPHERE: The main entrance is at the back of the building off the courtyard area(behind Lojax & Fusion.) The bar is split into two sections, the other half housing a pool table room, I believe. The bar section is open-air with big windows that overlook the courtyard. The vibe is super chill, dark, and dreary. There was no entertainment going on, and I’m not sure if there was even background music. THECROWD: They were dead as a doornail, even on this particular Saturday night. Including me and my friend, there was at the most 6 of us in the entire bar on a Saturday night. OVERALL: Quiet place to come for drinks.

I keep reading good reviews about the weekend crowd; I tried a few times to go during the week, and it was abandoned. Will have to try again some weekend; I can’t shake my bias though… a really good bar has SOMETHING going on most weeknights and a little bit of a pulse.

Love this bar! I go every weekend, almost. LOL. Bartenders are awesome(my faves are Sheldon & Will), bathrooms are clean, outside area is cool and has great music, and their inside room has $ 1 karaōke songs, fun lighting, and a pool table. Please go here, get drunk and have an awesome time! But don’t forget to tip those bartenders because they to a terrific job taking care of their patrons!

Very quiet place. There was only one other person there. The bartenders were very sweet. Chatted through one drink and then set out for another venue.

Was here during happy hour on a weekday. Nothing much to write about, since the bar was empty. I’d definitely go back to see what the night life is all about. The bartender was super sweet though!

Located just right before you get into Waikiki at the Landmark Shops. Parking is easy($ 1 an hour), but to find this place is a little difficult. The Food: Their pasta specials are yummy. The meal portions are just right. You won’t get too full or feel hungry. It’s definitely not enough to share. I like to order the breakfast sandwich which consists of eggs with dices ham in it, tomatoes, lettuce and cheddar cheese, all in a buttery croissant sandwich. The Service: I usually order to go and they are pretty quick. There’s only one person(that I’ve noticed) handling everything upfront. But it doesn’t seem to get too busy so you should be okay. The Décor: The décor is okay. Nothing special. There is a bit of a smell there. The Quick Tip: Order the specials well in advance. They sometimes run out pretty fast. Yes, it can be that good. At night Tapa turns into an Indian restaurant. The is an «odor» at the restaurant that I can’t quite place. Because of the order, I generally either eat outside or order to go.

Well, I made my first visit to Tapas. I would have to save that I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very different from Lojax or Bacchus. For one, it’s very laid back and not as loud, which I think is good if looking to socialize with the other bar patrons. The other thing I like is that the bar is open air. Also the restrooms are pretty clean. The place is also pretty big even through it might not look like it from the outside. They even have a food menu too, even though I didn’t order anything from it. I guess got something to do the next time I go. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice quiet place to drink and socialize.

I dont actually know what to say about this place. If you want to sing karaōke by yourself, its a great place. A quiet drink without people coming to bother you, this is a great place. Atmosphere, um, its like drinking in someones backyard. But the drinks are decently priced and the bartenders are usually pretty nice as well.

It might not look as much when you see if from the outside, but it’s a great place to hang out and sing karaōke. I really didn’t know about this place until a friend of mine started working as a bartender here, after that we have become regulars and go even when he is not working. We always have a great time here and many times find ourself singing karaōke(not me of course but the people that I’m with). The bartender is always nice(gee wonder why?! haha), and the people are always in a good mood. Go hang out at Tapas if you want a carefree good time. It will be worth your time.

Tapa’s is a fun little dive bar conveniently located next to an entourage of other gay bars in Waikiki. Make sure you leave a nice tip for those bartenders! They’re amazing; really friendly and sociable. The people here are chill and laid back. No dancing here, just a bunch of guys kickin’ back with a beer or two. Drink prices are reasonable and liquor selection isn’t too limited either. If you’re a regular, the bartender will remember your order which is another reason why it’s a good idea to tip well! In the next room behind the bar they have a karaōke machine and a pool table, and beyond that there’s a second lanai which serves as the back entrance from Seaside Avenue. It’s $ 1 per song. I gave 4 stars because it gets really hot at this place. Everytime I visit I feel as if I just stepped into an oven what with all the body heat and the lack of ventilation. They have fans to offset that problem, but it doesn’t help very much. This place also tends to attract a more mature crowd, but I don’t have a problem with that. I’ve been here during the day too, and the bar gets a lot of repeat older customers. I think the older generation that lives in Waikiki stop at this bar often. I would say this is definitely a place for the older man to visit if he’s looking for a place to chill and unwind.
