After receiving calls from our pharmacist last week regarding a prescription refill authorization that Dr. Tan’s office did not respond to, I was asked once again to call the office to hopefully expedite a response. This has been an issue that we have had on many occasions with Dr. Tan’s office. They did finally call it in, but once again, they called in a questionable refill that was not clear… time release vs non time release? Both the pharmacist and I figured Dr Tans office personnel did not read the medical file with the exact information on patients file and therefore just called in a script the pharmacist questioned and had to call the office again!!! Because I called the drs office with my concerns with the non appointment and walk ins only, we were offered an appointment to see Dr. Tan. It’s unfortunate that it has to take all this fuss to get things straight with Dr Tan and his staff. I would not recommend this business for their incompetence and inadequate practices.

Dr. Tan has been the family doctor to my mother, my aunty, and myself for over 10 years. He has always taken the time to carefully explain things and answer questions thoroughly. When he is not too busy, he even takes extra time to talk about recent events like travel or golf. I highly recommend him to be your family doctor too! Some background info from the internet: Dr. Joshua Tan grew up in a small town in Malaysia. After high school, he migrated to mainland USA, where he attended undergraduate and medical school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wanting to be closer to Asia Pacific, he moved to Honolulu in 1990 to complete Internal Medicine residency training at University of Hawaii Integrated Medical residency program. Since 1994, Dr. Tan has been in private practice meeting the health care needs of locals and immigrants that make up the diversities of population in Hawaii.
