If your looking for a high end sushi and bento shop this is not the place for you. If u want reasonable prices and fast transaction and yet great tasting food try this place out. Only down side is CASHONLY! I personally come here for the butter fish bento and egg musubi and if it’s not on the shelves then I may ask for them to make one if I wanted to wait and of course I did its so worth the wait. So if you don’t see what you want u may ask for it they may make it for you and that’s what good customer service is about… So what more can u ask for? Service? Check. Taste? Check.. convenience and fast? Check… can’t ask for anything more than that!!! LOL

Not the fanciest, nor the freshest of Japanese bentos… but at least this place has food that is ready to go! I was working across the street at a credit union today, when I realized it was 2:30PM, and I had not eaten anything but a banana this morning. I walked across the street and headed to Don Quijote, where there are several food vendors located by the entrance of Don Quijote. Upon scanning the area, I decided to go to Sushi Robot Iguchi because — 1. I was haaaaangry, and wanted something extremely fast! 2. Bentos were pre-made, and looked«tasty». 3. Bentos were fairly cheap(for a Japanese bento) 4, I didn’t want to wait for someone to make food for me… I just wanted to eat right then and there! Upon scanning the bentos I decided on a teri chicken/mochiko chicken combo bento. The chicken sits on a bed of cabbage, and comes with white rice, and some pickled vegetables. What can I say about the grub? Well, I’m guessing they made these bentos early in the morning, and when I ate it in the afternoon, I could clearly see it was not so fresh. The Mochiko Chicken was a bit chewy, but at least it did not taste greasy. The Teri Chicken was just okay for me, and I could clearly see the teri sauce that was coagulating to the top of the plastic bento container. If I had access to a microwave, and warmed up this bento I had eaten, I sure it would have tasted much better. The Teri Chicken/Mochiko Chicken combo bento, & a bottled water came out to $ 9.39…not bad, but at just under $ 10 bucks, I think I’d rather eat a Zippy’s Zip Pack, or a plate lunch from Graces Drive Inn, or Rainbow Drive Inn. To each his own… By the way… this place only takes CASH! So remember now… Cash is King!

This is an awesome place for take-out bentos. I understand that the owner is classically trained and that is precisely why the food is so darn good. I go there a few time a month. My wife loves the butterfish. I like pretty much anything they make. This little place has come through in a pinch when dinner wasn’t made and we needed something ono, but quick. Tops!

If your buying a bento form a little stand outside of a grocery store, you pretty much know what your gonna get. Not the fanciest or freshest food in the world but all the bentos I’ve bought from sushi robot hit the spot and delivered what I was expecting. The misoyaki butterfish and Teri chicken is on point.

Sorry, adding salt to something and heating it up is not called cooking. Ordered a bento with spam, corned beef hash, Teri chicken, fried egg, noodles and rice. It looked so good in the container! Every item in it tasted the same! Simply a mouthful of salt with different substances underneath it! Only thing that tasted good was the fee pieces of pickled vegetables and that’s probably because they didn’t prepare that item! Hope others have better luck!

This is a review about their service. Negative infinity!!! Never even tried the food. We came here for dinner around 7:45PM. Parked the car and walked toward there. Saw one of the employee standing in front talking to a customer or friend he knows. Employee saw us coming toward the shop, the friend turned around and looked at us. The worker must have said something to him because he left when we were in front of the shop. While looking at the menu, and wondering if they are closed already. Was about to ask him if it was closed, he walked away and aired us out. Went into the kitchen and shut the lights off. WTF?! Rude service. You can at least tell us you were closed! Parents never taught him well… or boss never trained him at all! This is like the most horrible food booth I ever been to. Owner of this company, you hired the wrong type of person. Bad attitude and manner. Just letting people know to be careful.

I came here numerous times for bentos & it was always good. they just missed out on a good review because I just picked up my food, didn’t open the bag till I got to the beach, missing one of the bentos that I ordered. I don’t understand how the lady missed it when no one was there. their food is good I should say but that was very disappointing.

Bentos. And average bentos at that. Food that has been sitting too long in a plastic shell.

If I could I would give this place 3.5 stars. I ate the salmon/Saba bento. I went toward the end of the day. I think it was about 7:30 and things were 20% off. So my $ 11 bento was $ 9. The guy also gave me free gyoza which was nice. Maybe he felt bad because I tried to order something, but I couldn’t and there were a limited selection of bentos left. I also tried to pay with a card but they only accept cash. So, he put the gyoza in my bag and said«complimentary.» Haha 3 stars for the food. It’s not omg amazing but it’s not bad. I would come here again. I guess it’s what you would kinda expect from a place like this. Not food that’s gonna wow you but it’s fast, convenient, and doesn’t go below your expectations. ½ a star for the free gyoza.

If you’re looking for a fancy-smancy gourmet looking bento, you’re barking up the wrong tree. The name itself is a bit deceiving since it’s not a place to get traditional sushi either. But if you’re looking to get quick and cheap, well then you found our place. Need a Chicken Katsu already to go? Look no further than the Robot. Musubi’s needed for a morning breakfast? Done. Only draw back of being quick and ready is sometimes they sit for a bit and get cold. Also, cash only.

I’m in a rush, let’s just grab something small and quick! PROS: bentos are already made ready to just pick up. CONS: sometimes I get the feeling that some of these bentos are left out for a while. I definitely taste the difference in quality when I go here. CASHONLY! WHAT I ATE: — MINIMOCHIKOCHICKEN: it’s one of the little bentos I just pick up and go(no need order). Think it’s like $ 3.61 total with a lil bit of mochiko chicken and a small rice musubi. Trynna cut down on eating to much so it’s a the perfect size for me. COMEBACK? Most likely, but probably cause I work just around the corner. I go here pretty often because I work nearby and I don’t want to wait around for my food to cook. But realistically, this place to me is where you’d go if you’re in the area and you just want to grab something(I wouldn’t make it the destination)

This Sushi Robot store front in front of Don Quijote is one of the many little take out places lining the picnic benches. I like Sushi Robot because the bentos are premade, so you just grab, pay and go. At AAA or the burger place, you need to wait 5 – 10 minutes for your food. The downside is that the food at sushi robot has probably been sitting out for a while before you buy it. I continue to get the little mochiko chicken bento because I like the little pickled vegetables and egg that comes with it. The chicken itself is pretty greasy and tough. If I had more time, I’d get a mini mochiko chicken plate from AAA instead.

This place is usually ok — a quick stop to pick up something to eat and I’m gone. If I don’t see what I’m looking for, I ask and they make it pretty quick. Today was a little different… There was some Chinese girl working. Me: Do you have kabocha? Girl(in her accent): Order. You order. Me: No, I didn’t order it. Do you have kabocha? Girl: Huh? Me: Pumpkin? Squash? Do you have it today? Girl: You order? Not the best experience… I was a little sad.

My first experience with Sushi Robot was beyond horrible. It was«yuckas». I decided to give them another try after Cin T. convincing me that their bentos are better when they are fresh. Went there on a lunch break with a co worker. She said she’ll treat. Who am I to say no to free food! Walked passed Sushi Robot, the bentos were still steaming. Fresh? check. Can anybody prepare unagi all fubar? I thought no, so the safe choice was to go with unagi. So much better this time, rice was moist, unagi was good. Sushi Robot, please be more consistent. I would like to come here more often…

Great place to grab a bento to go. They always have bentos piled up on the counter large and small, and in various combinations. One might have teri chicken and shrimp tempura. Another might have saba & teriyaki beef instead. The cheapest bentos are minis for $ 4 and the priciest ones, usually with butterfish are $ 13. You can also grab musubis for under $ 3 depending on what kind. Though I’m not a Spam fan, they have a breakfast musubi that consists of Spam, fried egg, and covered in furikake… soooooo good! Most or perhaps all items have rice, usually white rice though you can get purple multigrain too. The rice and meat are always cooked just right and any sauce is not too skimpy or overdone. Items seem to move quickly so nothing has time to become dry or soggy. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The workers and owner are also very friendly. The only strange thing is that even though this place is «SUSHI Robot» I never once saw sushi except inari and maki, and they’re not in great quantity. They do make bentos upon request. I wonder if you can order something with sushi sushi(not a typo) in it. They have a menu up above, though my eyes are usually fixed upon the bentos under my nose. Tip: They offer everything at a discount right before they close & the food still tastes good!

Comfort food… the stuff that you can always go for when you don’t know what you really want to eat. My list of comfort food is quite long… Oxtail soup, beef stew, chicken katsu, bbq chicken, kal-bi, and any kind of variation on fried chicken. Mochiko, garlic, southern, you name it, I love it! So, I was REALLY disappointed when I went to Sushi Robot outside of Don Quixote. I really didn’t know what I wanted to eat, and all my stomach was telling me was that it was«starving». So I went to my old stand-by comfort food –mochiko chicken and bbq chicken combo. I was really disappointed with the super oily bbq chicken, and the dry and just gross tasting mochiko chicken. The bbq chicken seemed to have a thin layer of greasy film on it. It didn’t taste fresh at all. And the mochiko was actually hard. It was like biting into stone, I just broke my teeth, HARD! Next time, I’m just gonna go to Palama Market instead!

After a long day at Don Quijote, what’s more relaxing than grabbing a bento box and kicking your feet up on wooden benches next to a full parking lot? Seriously, this place is a great value with consistently tasty food. They pre-make all their bento boxes, so get there a little before the lunch period to get the freshest(piping hot) items. Spongebob would do a drive-by here for a quick lunch to-go.

I only go here for their MOCHIKOCHICKEN! Just watch out, its run by Taiwanese so you got to ask for«Karaage Chicken»(the one with the green onions). If you get their«Mochiko Chicken» you will get what everyone else will call Karaage chicken and it tastes like crap. So yeah leave it to the Taiwanese to get a Japanese dish mixed up. But anyways, they make it how it should taste and its only $ 6.95 for a pretty good amount. Make sure you get the right one though, the bento that you can see the choppen green onions with the chicken is the right one. If you get the one without, trust me you will be sorry. Salmon and the oyako donburi are good here as well.
