If Ling ever helps you, do not make any special request, as she will give you altitude, I could sense that she was irritated or maybe the special request is new to her? On a recent visit, I requested for my meat to be separated.(Yes.!! I am weird like that) but why is is so hard to have the meat separated? Meat = turkey breast I stop at this Subway for quick & healthy lunch. It is convenient for me during my lunch break. This location is located at Koko Marina shopping center, in the corner next to Starbucks. A very small and clean shop, this Subway has few tables for eating your sub and a few small tables out in front of shop. Services is hit or miss on my visits here. Besides the special request incident, On two occasion I stopped by purchase a bag of baked chips. I don’t remember if it was the same lady, Ling? who rang me up, gave me the impression that why am I only buying chips and no sub. I really like the snack size bag of baked chips, sometimes I will pack my own sandwich for lunch but forget my chips. Thank goodness for a Subway in this area, for healthier options. I would have opt for fast food and the really bad fatty choices, but I do have to start making healthy choices. Despite those incidents, I do look forward to Mondays & Fridays, as they have a new promotion– 3.506 inch sub of the day.(I am glad they are participating in this promotion) Monday’s Sub of the Day is Turkey Breast & Fridays are Tuna. I like this promotion as 3.50, can’t go wrong with this price! Here are the weekly SUBOFTHEDAY: Monday: Turkey Breast Tuesday: Oven Roasted Chicken Wednesday: Sweet Onion Teriyaki Thursday: Italian B.M.T Friday: Tuna Saturday: Meatball Marinara Sunday: Black Forest Ham I hope on my future visits, they improve on customer service. Ling must be more friendly, or maybe I shouldn’t be weird and make special request?! 2016 #38/100 Unilocal Challenge

This place is extremely well managed, always super clean, and the Korean family that runs it is super nice!

The sub sandwich preparer was very skimpy with my sandwich. I had to remind him couple of times to add a condiment he forgot and also forgot oil, vinegar and pepper. I won’t be returning to this Subway.

I have changed my rating of this store based on their continuing refusal to accept the Subway Hawaii weekly deals offered to their customers via sms text. I go in order and then I’m told that they don’t honor those deals. Very bad advertising to offer then refuse. This is still a very friendly restaurant… They just friendly refuse to honor any of the deals.

I’m going to agree with Lori I in saying that if you’re wanting a Subway sandwich this is a great one to visit! The Korean couple that owns this location works the counter and they’re really sweet. I got in and out of there fairly quickly and although a Subway sandwich isn’t the greatest culinary delight on planet Earth, it is healthier than a loco moco. The one big bummer is the parking at shopping center. It is soooo full during peak dining hours. *Pro tip: Park by Walgreens.

Worst Subway in Hawaii. The young male worker does not change his gloves after handling cash payments. Same glove is used to prepare sandwiches and conduct cash transactions. So terrible. Will never come here ever again!

The worst customer service ever! Every time I go in, the worker(owner?) is giving someone attitude! I would not go back there again. I would drive further to Aina Haina’s subway instead.

Same food as at any other subway, but staff are rude, stuck up, and stingy. Ordered a 12 inch veggie delight with no cheese. Asked for extra olives and was given two extra olive slices. When I looked at her and asked her to please put more than two slices, she told me in a nasty voice she was only technically allowed to give me three olive slices per 6inches and said no. Really I’m not getting cheese and you wont give me more than 2⁄3 of an extra olive? Stingy jerk.

Clean and super fast. You feel like you are in the seinfeld episode of the soup nazi. Place order: the kind of bread and size. what kind of cheese. toasted? what veggies? what dressing? You go pay, NOW. Ok, move out of line and out of the door. LOL! They were friendly and fast. We were only here because my niece needs her Spicy Italian prior to every competition.

My friend accidentally dropped her drink and it spilled all over the floor. The worker(or owner?) got so mad and started sighing really loud. Then before she could even step away from the spill, he started mopping over her feet and motioning her to get out of the way. Rude! Never coming here again. Oh, and my avocado was sour. Yuck.

In my opinion, this is the best Subway on the island! They’re always friendly, they work quickly, & they keep it clean. There’s usually a pretty long line around lunch time, but it moves faster than other Subways we’ve been to… much faster. We went to the Kahala location recently & when I asked if we could order a kids sandwich without buying the whole meal deal, I was told«no» you have to order the whole meal. At the Koko Marina Subway, I was able to buy just the sandwich. WTH? Good customer service is so rare these days. I hope this family stays in business for a long, long time!

Food is consistent as with most chain restaurants, but service needs improvement! This franchise looks to be owned by a husband and wife team. They both work there, and I believe their son does as well. The wife is nice, the husband and son-not so much. I would eat here more often if they learned some customer service skills. Today, I purchased a sandwich and the son slams my sandwich on the counter-was that really necessary?! If you don’t like you’re job or are having a bad day-don’t take it out on the customer!

Probably not the friendliest staff or the best sandwich-artists on the island, but man are they efficient. Even in their peek hours, they manage to get people in and out pretty quickly.

Me and my girlfiend had just finished a great workout and run and decided to get something healthy to eat. We decided to go to Subway in Koko Marina. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners and the other staff. We ordered a footlong on wheat roasted chicken with dijon mustard and had it toasted. We sat in the dining room and enjoyed our healthy sandwich and AC. I recommend if you are looking for something healthy, quick and tasty go check out this Subway.

Whenever I am here on this side of the island, which is quite frequently lately, I come over to Subway and have a nice healthy meal. Most of the time, I get the $ 6 footlong something. Subway, like any other national chain, is familiar wherever you go. Only the staff’s level of service may be different and they don’t give you enough /pay attention to you, but everything else remains constant. I hate the fact that some Subways still don’t accept credit card payments. This one does, fortunately, but does not take american express. The Liliha location does, which is awesome! The food is consistent, where all the sandwiches are the same throughout the chain. The only thing that’s a bit weird is some chains have spinach and others don’t. Some have shredded cheddar cheese, and some don’t. This Hawaii Kai location does not have shredded chedder cheese! Anyway, this place is nice, as it is next door to Starbucks, where I can chill there and eat my food, instead of sitting outside where passerbys look at me funny while stuffing my face. I hate that. Everything is good with Ranch!

I love this place and yeah — it’s a subway but it’s still here! My son loves it and the staff is mostly friendly — it’s a Subway people not Le Bistro:) Always clean and fast:)

DISCLAIMER: I’ve worked part-time at this location before, so I may be a tad biased. However, I am in no way related to or endorsed by the owners in writing this review. As a worker here, I’ve had dozens of people from across the island and all over the U.S. describe this Subway as the«cleanest,» «fastest,» and«best» Subway location they’ve ever been to. As a customer of this location for over a decade, I can truly say that I’m apt to agree with these assessments. I’ve been to my fair share of Subways across the country and this location is by far the cleanest and most generous with the vegetables. The owners are super friendly and will memorize your order if you ever come in more than twice. The mix of workers allows customers to order in English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese with no problem and the service is almost always personable and efficient. The location in Koko Marina shopping center is a perfect stop-off for tourists on their way to Hanauma Bay, Sea Life Park, and Sandy Beach and a great choice for a healthy post-workout meal for people coming from the nearby 24 Hour Fitness. Of course the food is about the same level as any other Subway, and as such is certainly not foodie fare by any means, but I’m giving this location a 5-star rating compared to other Subways.

Everybody knows what Subway is and it’s not anywhere near foodie fare. But the food is consistent, the veggies and bread are fresh, and they make your food to order. While I may not be raving about my sandwich after it’s eaten, it’s a subsistence choice above many of the steam table choices around Koko Marina Shopping Center.
