Absolutely love this place and all the girls in it! They gave my hair some TLC after it was so damaged from going to salon mei. I had reddish roots (not by choice) and re growth from holding off on getting it done again since I was terrified of going to back to that salon. Renee and her amazing assistant did their thing and gave me a more ash tone to my hair, but not too ash either. I felt my problem with other salons was that they either did it silver, orange, or the original color they thought worked. It was never what I actually wanted. These girls know their stuff and let me tell you they only had to do it on one try! Love it! Thanks Renee and all the girls

I have gone to the sanctuary salon twice, and now I don’t want to go anywhere else again… both times Ashley colored my hair and Renee cut it, and it’s just amazing how good they can make you look! Best color, and best hair cut I have ever had… Highly recommend this salon!

I love Sanctuary! Rene, Renee, and Sabrina are awesome! They are experts and never will never let you leave without looking your best. I wanted RED and I got exactly the shade that I wanted (who knew there was so many types of red?). Then I wanted blonde. The response was NO. Why was I told no? Because it would ruin my hair and would not suit me. I trust them implicitly. I’m still going to keep asking for blonde though :-)

Always an amazing experience here. Renee did it again… Took my hair from «blah» to «yeah!» She and the rest of the staff always make me feel welcome there, and when I leave, I always leave feeling and looking fabulous!

SABRINA and AMELIA are the to go people!!! AMELIA and SABRINA did an fantastic job on me as made me look like rock star. I was hesitant about trying my make up here but I was not disappointed as soon as SABRINA touched my skin, she is awsome and listened. The one less star was for the receptions Kira, I guess it was my bad for making a constructive criticism but the way she handles it was horrible, she called me out in front of a client!!! For a professional you don’t let your «frustration out on a client»!!! Whether your the owners daughter or just an employee you should know better. Please do to A

I have been meaning to write a review. I personally recommend Renee and Sabrina. They are miracle workers and know how to handle blondes. I had been transitioning to a medium ash to beige blonde for almost two years and had terrible stylists who did not know what they were doing. However, with olaplex system and renee and Sabrina’s help my hair is healthier and at the level of blonde that suits me. I am due for a root bump and a cut/​style before my birthday, and I do recommend coming earlier in the morning as they get pretty busy. No worries, they will take care of you. Muhaz!

I was going to a very high end stylist for years and LOVED him. The only problem was he charged $ 125 for just a cut (no color/​not including tip). Even though he was a pro and produced flawless hair every time, I just couldn’t afford it anymore. Hawaii is just too expensive :(
In an attempt to save money I jumped to the other end of the spectrum, and on impulse went to an extremely cheap stylist somewhere else. It was a horrible mistake. This new stylist permanently damaged multiple patches of hair on top of my head. Finally after holding off for months out of fear, I made an appointment at Sanctuary with Ashley.
I’m so thankful I found this salon. Ashley made me and my hair look beautiful again. She assured me the damaged patches were not noticeable and she gave me a beautiful and effortless cut. I honestly can’t really tell the difference between her and my previous $ 125 stylist! She is my new person! I hope she never leaves!

If you are blonde or want to go blonde Ashely has unquestionably mastered the skill of creating beautiful highlights that are just perfect for you and your skin tone. I am beyond thrilled, she really did an outstanding job. I absolutely love my hair. Beyond that, the entire salon and staff is so warm and inviting. Kira and Renee, thank you for such kind hospitality. It was such a fun atmosphere, it makes the entire experience that much more meaningful. A huge thank you to everyone at Sanctuary.

Sanctuary Salon is a salon who’s staff is Knowledgeable, Trusted, and Hospitable. The Salon itself is Artsy, Glam and Unique.
In the waiting area the large couches made it comfortable to sit and sip on freshly brewed coffee or water which was offered immediately by Kira. When sitting, you’re eyes draw to the Art work and Unique interior. It’s very cozy and personal and not stuffy like some other salons. Kira is professional and hospitable making sure you’re ok and taken care of at all times.
Renee and Sabrina transformed my hair and gave me a look that I thought I couldn’t achieve. I am a natural brunette and came in with nasty orange blonde hair that didn’t match my skin tone. I had variations of color all throughout my hair. I had over processed my hair and was scared to do anything with it other than going back to brunette! However that changed…
Renee did a color correction and a cut. At my next appt. alternating highlights were added to break that orange and bring out that blonde. The blonde was a bit too blonde for me so Renee kindly had me come in a third time and added lowlights for dimension, we chose a cool overall tone that looked gorgeous! It was a perfect shade.
Renee really cares about her clients! She takes pride in her work and makes you feel comfortable. You can tell she is very experienced and knowledgeable because she knows exactly what’s colors to choose and has a great eye for it! She’s easy to talk to, laid back and patient. She restored the luster in my hair by using Olaplex and now I use it weekly. My hair feels baby soft.
Everyone has great team work and is not afraid to communicate colors, ideas, and tones in front of you and with you. Sabrina’s hardworking traits and joy in doing hair, showed in the final product. They have a passion for transforming hair and is written all over their faces they get excited like we do, that’s what makes it truly special — they truly care!

I’ve been coming to Sanctuary for years. Recently I went elsewhere only to find myself back in Ashley’s chair a week later to get it fixed. Half hour later and my hair looks amazing, exactly what I was wanting. Everyone from Renee the owner, to Ashley, Rene, Sharon, Sabrina etc are so nice, professional and down to earth. Like other reviews say, Sanctuary is truly a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment. Always courteous, and always striving to provide what their clients want. The salon is comfortable and lovely, and they sell great products too. Thank you Ashley and Sanctuary for always being the one place I can trust with my hair!

Renee the owner is lovely, my hair turned out just the way I wanted! After moving to Hawaii I was skeptical about trying a new salon, but I’m so glad I came here.

Love this salon! After so many years of living on Oahu and not finding a good salon that can handle my type of hair Sanctuary Salon is a breath of fresh air! My stylist is Sabrina and she’s the best :) She immediately made me feel comfortable and is hilarious and she knows exactly how to tame my hair and make me feel beautiful every time! I had the BEST salon experience EVER today!
I made an appointment with Hana for 11am but came 10 minutes early so Sabrina helped to check me in and told me she would be with me shortly. She was very polite and friendly and made me feel welcomed. I had time to check out the décor and everything was so clean! Very chic yet humble. I love the flooring.
Hana cut my hair fast and gave me exactly what I wanted. Short clean sides with long bangs so i could sweep them to the left. Its a much needed improvement from how my hair looks growing out lol! Such a friendly and funny person. I’ve been going to her since she worked at a different salon and it was great to see her fitting in here.
I also needed to get my eyebrows done but my usual person was booked til next week. So i asked if boy Renee had space and he did! Now, he is a bit more on the pricy side, but you really can’t put a price on good eyebrows. These were GREAT brows! After consulting with me for a couple minutes he literally gave me the PERFECT eyebrows. Exactly how we talked it out, exactly how i hoped they would be. He was also very easy to talk to and always could bring up a subject. He also gave me tips on how to keep my look and what I’m doing wrong which is priceless.
The best part of Sanctuary for me, is how welcoming everyone is. There wasn’t any time where i don’t feel part of the conversations everyone was having. Even when a client brought her dog in, Renee turned my chair around so i could see her dog and interact with everyone.
Overall i had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this salon to anyone wanting great service, great looks and great people!

Sharon is the best!!!
My hair was a mess when I went in to see her. I was turn down at another salon, because my hair would take too much time. (I do have a lot of hair, long, and damage). I wanted to cut it anyways, but my hair still needed color correction and a good treatment. Sharon took me in, explain exactly what she would do, and made me look great. My hair is soft again, and perfectly blonde. Love, love, love her! Go see her! She’s amazing !!!

Rene (girl): What do u wanna do today?
Me: Something different but keep the length.
This went on for about 4 years. I’ve always had long hair, so when we did «something different» we would color it (I think we’ve done every color BUT green), layered it, changed my part, etc. But always kept the length, which mind u, Rene is good at, she actually LISTENS to her clients. Last week I walked into the salon thinking bout making the same request as usual, and Rene says to me, «Why don’t u cut it all off, now THATS different!» I was like HYELLLLLLL NOOOOOO. I got a bob in high school once and I was so devastated I didn’t go to school for like 4 days! Anyway, after listening to her saying how my hair needs it coz it’s all ratchet at the bottom, I ignored my sweaty palms and nervous leg shake and I said the hell with it, let’s do it.
Obviously from my star rating I effing LOOOOVE my new look, she gave me an A line, cut right above my shoulders and colored it. I seriously have a crush on myself right now, lol. And then of course, there’s Boy Renee, who gave me perfect brows to go wit my new hurrrr. I love this place, it’s so chill and the girls r so pleasant, and it’s a salon the way salons should be: great results, gossip, and laughter! Fellas, they do men’s hair too, and good at it;) My BF would leave there looking like he’s going to a GQ mag photo shoot!

Hands down the BEST salon on Oahu with the most experienced and professional employees.
Sharon has taken care of my color and cut for the longest time. Her talent shines every time I come see her, she makes me look like a supermodel!!! I’ve hired Sharon to style my hair for my Masters graduation and she did a wonderful job! She added my extensions (from Rene), curled, and teased my hair for volume. Sharon is very knowledgable in the industry. If you know exactly what you’d like or maybe have no idea, CALL SHARON!
Rene is absolutely wonderful as well, such a doll. She’s done my extensions and make-​up!
