Royal Hawaiian Cookie gives you an alternative to bringing back Honolulu Cookie Company, which isn’t quite as special now that they’ve also opened a location in Las Vegas. The Royal Hawaiian Cookie is a classic Florentine, with a Hawaiian twist which combines a medley of various nuts that are coated with semi-sweet caramel laid upon a golden-brown crispy cookie base. They have samples of almost each type of cookie, and some of the ones I sampled were: Macadamia Honey, Sesame Seed, Almond Honey, Macadamia Chocolate, Peanut Honey, Pecan Honey. I really liked that these weren’t too sweet, and had a nice crisp to them. My favorites were probably the macadamia honey and almond honey. They also have the Royal Hawaiian Crunch available, which they describe as a «the unique combination of naturally sweet Hawaiian fruits mixed with crunchy macadamia nuts & almonds. A distinct soft & crunchy texture makes for a great Hawaiian snack». I preferred these to the cookies, and they had four different flavors: Pineapple, Mango, Coconut, Vanilla. The pineapple was my favorite by far, and I ended up purchasing just the Pineapple Royal Hawaiian Crunch as a gift, which was $ 9.75 for their small 4 oz bag. The staff here is super professional and nice, and will answer any questions that you have about their products. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice souvenir to bring back for people. Parking is difficult in this area since it’s downtown.

so everywhere you look there is a Honolulu Cookie Company — no offense but they are nothing special to take home as gifts. then we found the Royal Hawaiian Cookie storefront on a small side street and aside from their beautiful packaging, the cookies are delicious and made locally in Hawaii. And most importantly the cookies were special and didn’t seem mass produced. The staff was so helpful and it doesn’t hurt that you can taste every single type. This is the perfect place to pick up those gifts for loved ones and grab a box or bag for yourself. they also had some passion fruit spread(liliko’i) that was amazingly yummy. we bought tons.

This place is good! Don’t forget to stop here in addition to the honolulu cookie company when bringing home cookies. You can get a bunch of samples. They actually are really good. I got the original macadamia caramel kind and they are delicious. The woman working in the shop the day we went was super nice.

This space used to belong to Neiman Marcus. The space to the left, was the original Yakiniku Hiroshi. Hiroshi-San moved his restaurant upstairs and after a few years of making cookies in a low key manner, has opened this cookie boutique. They’re still pre grand opening but if you walk in you can sample their selections. The sesame and almond honey are super good. Even though im not a sweet chocolate fan, the macadamia chocolate is also good. It was an easy sell for them to me after i started sampling. Hiroshi himself is a super nice guy and we started talking about wagyu beef lineages in Japan for a while until our table upstairs was ready. His staff are equally friendly and i think they make a great tasty product. Who know a chef specializing in high end meats would after 25 years open a cookie boutique? Aspirations exist in all forms!
