I love, love, LOVE Leona!!!
She introduced me to my first Shellac session, and I think I’m addicted!!!
My nails for my wedding were the perfect shade of pillowy white thanks to Leona. And my nails didn’t break, chip, and polish didn’t come off for over 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS!!! The only reason I had to take it off was because it had grown out so much. But still looked perfect! Meanwhile during those 3 weeks I was surfing, kayaking, swimming, beaching, hiking, ziplining, etc… and not 1 chip or scratch!!! Seriously, this is the holy grail of nail products!
Plus my appointment with Leona was so much fun! Lively conversation about life, love, and happiness :) She is such a sweetheart and absolutely gorgeous! Wish I lived a little closer than Cali so I could come see her every few weeks hehehe. She’s the best!

I usually hate getting my nails done because the nail polish never lasts so I usually only do my toes. She has this nail polish that never chips or comes off! IT’S FABULOUS!!!
I had her do my entire bridal party for my wedding. We took group photos the weekend before the wedding so our mani/​pedis needed to last for a week… everyone’s nails were perfect… thanks to Leona and Shellac!!!

totally in love. nails and technique are perfect. you can’t find a good nail tech anymore. they’re all taken over by the vietnamese mafia who don’t care about you or your nails. clean, friendly and personable. been doing my nails for 20 years and this is as good as it gets.

Leona Komine is nail technician (aka manicurist) extraordinaire! I started going to Leona about 10 years ago when my other fave manicurist, Debra, moved to Maui. Her company, Polish & Powder, is located inside ColorCuts Salon (
) which is where I also get my hair done. I love it there and feel that I stalk them since I seem to be in there every other week either to get my nails done or my hair done!
Leona does beautiful manis, pedis, white/​pink acrylics, gels… AND is very clean and sanitary with all the tools she uses. I see her about every 2 ½ weeks for my white/​pink fills. And to talk story ;-)
She is a former Mrs. Hawaii, very personable, and I always enjoy my hour spent with her.
Since she is a one-​woman show, her services are by appointment only. I hope you try her out if you are in need of a mani and/​or pedi!
