I’ve eaten at the other Phuket Thai restaurants before and like the food, so I was excited to eat here for lunch. I was with a party of five and we were hungry, so we ordered spring rolls to start off with. Today, the noodles in the spring rolls were still hard and uncooked and the sweet chili sauce was on the tart, vinegary side. We ordered chicken pad thai(which our waiter forgot about, but didn’t charge us for), fried chicken– this is one of my favorite things here! So crunchy and light, but juicy and flavorful inside! Our chicken Panama curry is also one of our go-to’ and did not disappoint. We «broke out» of our normal and ordered the string beans with beef and were surprised when it came and was actually beef with string beans… not a side vegetable, but a main dish! It was so spicy that I had to blot my hairline and top of my nose from the sweat that the spice produced! We also ordered eggplant with tofu and that was great because the eggplant was cooked well, but not over cooked. Beware that when they ask you how spicy you want your food: mild, medium or spicy, mild means no spice at all, medium means HOT! and spicy means you will pay later on! Our waiter was attentive with refilling water and taking away empty dishes. Don’t know what happened with the forgotten pad thai, but we ended up having too much food anyway! At this location you have to pay for self-parking in the lot or sneak and park in the Ward Village parking where Office Depot used to be!

Ate here for the first time, the service was great and the setup of the restaurant is really nice. The food didn’t really wow me too much. I’ve had better at other Thai restaurants. I’m a huge fan of the peanut sauce and this one tastes slightly different. The Pad Thai wasn’t too flavorful and the sticky rice was really dry.

I have nothing good to say about eating here. First off, I love Thai food, but this was just not remotely good. The stir fry dishes we ordered were quite greasy, and lacked flavor all together. We also had pineapple fried rice and I’m not sure how to even describe that flavor. Just really off, and awful, not sure why that is a challenging dish to make well. Aside from the food the service is even worse. Extremely unfriendly. If you don’t want my business, that’s ok. I don’t really understand why you’re in a customer service oriented business if you really don’t want customers. Needless to say I won’t be going back, ever. It sounds like the other Phuket Thai on Kapiolani gets better reviews so if you must try one I suggest trying one of the other two and don’t waste your time here.

Before my sister and I went on our Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx run we stopped over here to grab a bite for her late birthday lunch from me. We are complete opposites but if it’s one thing in common, it’s that we love Thai food. Since I never been here before(I know, who hasn’t right?) here’s my review on my first impression. It started off on kind of a bad note, Christmas décor is still up and water glass was immediately filled but there were a couple black things floating in it. No problem, our waitress apologized and made sure my new glass was clean. Then everything got much better, she was very nice and took extra good care of us throughout our meal. The calamari was the strips of squid with a few rings, none with the tentacles type. It wasn’t super crispy but the portion was large, I would say 2.5÷5 star. We also ordered the special, pork garlic fried rice($ 10.95) which again was a large portion(yasss!) and the flavors were savory! We ordered the pad thai mild but it was pretty spicy, expected cause we know how spicy Thai food can get, they gave a lot of tofu and shrimp which was awesome. All in all it was a satisfactory Thai lunch date, I would come back again if I’m in the area for sure!

My favorite place to get Vegan thai food. They are very accommodating to special requests unlike other Thai restaurants. I took one star off because they sometimes have trouble with consistency, the food can be bland sometimes depending on the day I go. Might have to do with who is cooking in the back. Pad Thai w/tofu — no egg, no fish sauce: 4⁄5 Yellow Curry w/tofu — no fish sauce: 4⁄5 Spring rolls — no fish sauce: 5⁄5 Service is awesome, restaurant is very clean, and good portion sizes.

Going to forgive the oily spring rolls. Going to forgive the paid parking lot behind the restaurant. Will forgive the three pieces of tofu in my tofu curry order. Waitstaff was very attentive, food was great. Water was always refilled. There was a birthday party going along the long wal, maybe 15 guests. As the parents were relaxing, the kids were outside thrashing chairs. They were having a blast! As we were ready to leave, somehow one of the kids managed to hit the fire alarm, around 7 feet high off the ground, just right, with his balloon. Mom was horrified and realized she couldn’t turn if off. Entertaining for us, but not for the guests that hadn’t finished eating. I recommend the panang curry. Mild is spicy, medium is very spicy. Pad thai is excellent. Skip the spring rolls.

My friend and I tried this place last week because my favorite Thai place is being remodeled. We went around lunchtime on a weekday and while we were the first to arrive, the restaurant filled up quick with business execs while we were dining. There were quite a few large parties which looked normal for them. I ordered my fave dish Pad Seygu and my friend ordered her fave yellow curry with chicken. The food was fast and fresh and the portions were huge. I barely made a dent in my dish and ended up taking home most of it. It wasn’t as good as the same dish I get at To Thai For, but it was ok. And cheaper for the amount that you get. My friend liked her curry and also commented on how much she got. Our server was friendly and attentive despite how crowded the restaurant got. Overall the place was ok, but I still prefer To Thai For for the best Thai food in Honolulu.

Food was mostly VERY good. Service was awesome. Location was perfect. Peanut Sauce Curry was awesome with tofu and lots of veggies. Paht Thai Noodles with Shrimp as great as well. My only issue was the red curry with chicken. It was OK but really lacked veggies and seemed overly oily. Spice level was great — we asked for mild and it really was. The place is BYOB — which is great. Also portions were great and the cost were very reasonable. I will go back again for sure. Just no red curry with chicken for me.

The ambiance is not the greatest, noise level is annoying, service is excellent and food is superb. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because of the noise level.

We came and tried this place out with a few friends last night. We’ve driven past this place every week for the last year or so and figured we might as well give it a shot! PROS: –The restaurant is clean on both the outside and inside. –The wait staff is friendly –Waters were frequently refilled –Decent portion sizes –Reasonable prices –BYOB CONS: –Food isn’t very authentic(FOREXAMPLE: We ordered the papaya salad, and it was literally papaya, tomato, and dressing. I’ve never seen this before. Where was the garlic, toasted peanuts, chiles, dried shrimp???) –The service was a bit delayed Overall, this place wasn’t terrible but I think that there are definitely better Thai places out there.

The food was very good, not earth shattering but quality for the spend. I was pleased with everything we ordered. Thai Fried Chicken Beef Pad Thai Thai Spring Rolls Panang Curry with Chicken It was three people and we decided to eat family style so everyone could try everything and it was a good idea. There was plenty of food. I would certainly go back. The service was very attentive but the place was not that busy. Price wise I think the two $$ rating is accurate. The only caveat when you are looking for it is that it is actually on the corner of Queen and Kamake. If you are driving on Kamake towards the ocean it will be on your left side. Enjoy !

Tonight, I got tom yum soup and shared green papaya salad and basil chicken with my friend. We were both shocked at how tiny my soup was, it was basically a side soup, but cost entrée price. It tasted pretty good though. We were further surprised when the salad and chicken came out – they were both very large! The salad tasted bland and was basically just a large lump of green papaya. I really liked the chicken, it was nice and flavorful. Service was friendly, but slow.

The best Thai food in town. Best Panang, fried chicken and pad thai. Also very good is the soup and service. The only reason for the missing star is the corkage fee if you bring your own wine. BUT you can bring beer! Go figure. Inexpensive and not crowded on weekdays. I love love love their panang!

At the edge of the growing Kakaako/Ward district lies Phuket Thai. Located on corner of Queen and Kamakee Street, Phuket Thai offers a wide selection of savory authentic Thai dishes. Whether you like your Thai curry’s mild, medium or spicy, Phuket Thai offers a mouthwatering experience. These traditional authentic inspired dishes will leave you with a memorable experience. My personal favorite? The stuffed chicken! The hosts and wait staff are friendly and accommodating.(We came here with a large group and they joined tables for us) Ample parking in the Ward District, and in close proximity to TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack, take a nice stroll across the street to Phuket Thai!

Sawatdee(krub/kah) = Hello! There is nothing better in this world then to spend some quality time wid’ da ohana! My cousin Chris & his beautiful wife Myra, and their kids came to the islands for vacation on Maui, as well as Oahu. I feel very fortunate to have this time to get together for a meal, and my sister had suggested we go to Phuket Thai Restaurant. Now why didn’t I think of this place? I use to go to the McCully location all the time for lunch, but as for the Ward location, I’ve been here just once. I’m glad I came back, as the food was as good as I remembered it to be. The Ward location is also more spacious, compared to the McCully location. Service was very attentive tonight, and our waiter did an outstanding job in taking our order, & delivering the food. We ordered the following grub tonight(see pics) — 1 Phuket Stuffed Chicken Wings 2. Spring Rolls 3. Thai Crispy Fried Chicken 4. Paht Thai Noodles with Chicken 5. Fish in Ginger Soy Sauce 6. Thai Garlic Mixed Vegetables with Tofu 7. Thai Ginger String Beans with Calamari 8. Sticky Rice & Brown Rice What can I say… the grub was outstanding! No wonder Phuket Thai Restaurant is a past winner of the ilima awards, as well as «Best of Hawaii» winner! All the items we ordered tonight was OUTSTANDING, but what I really come here for is just two items — the Thai Crispy Fried Chicken, & the Thai Garlic Mixed Vegetables! Ummmmmmm Nom! Nom! Nom! Nom! There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, where you just put money in the Kiosk. If you’re lucky enough, you may find free parking in one of the metered street parking stalls in the evening. Of course, the last way to get parking is Da ol’ Hawaiian Trick… where you park diagonally across the street by the Office Depot, then make sure you look around to see that security doesn’t see ya… then casually make your way across the street! Lol! You like Thai Food? May I suggest Phuket Thai!

My mom wanted to eat Thai food, so I brought her and my grandma to go eat. We went around 6−7ish pm. It wasn’t busy. We got seated right away. We looked at the menu and I feel like eating chicken pad thai $ 11 and my mom wanted the chicken green curry $ 12. We also ordered rice on the side. It came out a little slow. Anyways, the chicken pad thai wasn’t too bad. Not enough peanut ish taste. The curry was kinda salty. It’s good that it wasn’t too oily. Three of us was really full from the two dishes. Server was ok. She would come check on us once in a while.

I’ve been going to Phuket Thai for reliable Thai food since I moved to Oahu in 2010. Coming from someone who has vacationed in Bangkok and addicted(ADDICTED!) to Thai food, I’d say that despite Phuket Thai’s food not being completely authentic, it’s pretty close to it. My usual order consists of Thai iced tea, chicken pad see ew, tofu yellow curry, sticky rice and an appetizer. I suggest getting their calamari and satay chicken! The Thai iced tea at Phuket Thai is perfectly sweet. Aside from the usual, I’ve tried their pad thai, panang curry, and ginger string bean stir fry. All of the entrees have been tasty — I never had a major problem with anything. Although, sometimes the pad see ew can be oily, depending on the cook. If you’re sensitive to oil(or get queezy at the sight of any layers of oil in your food) skip out on the pad see ew. You know when you tell yourself that you’re gonna leave room for dessert, but end up not getting dessert because you’re so stuffed from your meal? Don’t let that happen at Phuket Thai. Do yourself a favor and order the sticky rice & ice cream dessert! I absolutely love sticky rice, and pairing it with either vanilla or green tea ice cream makes it taste all the better! Parking: private lot on the side of the building, $ 2/hr. Street meter parking also available. All in all, friendly hostesses and wait staff, and clean dining area with private restrooms available. We were greeted by Jhollie(sp?) today, and she was really sweet. We were seated almost immediately despite the phones ringing off the hook. Khob khun ka for the many great dining experiences.

This is one of those largely average restaurants I’m happy to keep coming back to. Yellow or Red Curry, Crispy Fried Chicken, sticky rice. One and done. Bf says their curry has more coconut milk than some other places, so if that’s not your cup of tea, try some other things. Their Pad Thai is pretty good here. I always leave satisfied — and usually with leftovers! Average service for the most part. I wouldn’t suggest to sit outside at night though, if you can help it — the servers just don’t walk out there often enough. I usually park in the Office Depot lot and cross the street. Good place for when you’re craving Thai food.

It’s been a while since wife and I had Thai food even though we were in a Thai restaurant about a week ago. That place never bothered to serve us. So coming to a Thai restaurant where there is no doubt I will get food is already two stars in my book. Wife and I came here just after 5 pm. We were the first customers of the dinner rush. We were seated immediately. Pleasant server was quick with menus and water. We ordered the Chicken Satay(called Sa-teh here), Tom Yum Soup, and Panang Curry with tofu. We ordered«medium heat.» It must be a shade cooler in Kakaako, because their medium is HAWT. We didn’t mind though. It was deliciously tolerable. Chicken Sa-teh pieces were HUGE. Tom Yum soup tasted wonderful, sweet and spicy with whole straw mushrooms. Panang curry was complex, and spicy. Jasmine rice was fluffy. In the back of my mind i was dreading the bill with all that food. Total was less than 35 bucks, much to my surprise. We even had leftovers for lunch tomorrow. King Prajadhipok would be proud…

We invited my eldest sister to lunch with us while her husband is recuperating in a hospital from recent heart bypass surgery. My brother-in-law, who hails from West Virginia, still hasn’t developed a more«adventurous» palate beyond meat and potatoes even though they relocated to Hawaii over 10 years ago. So, as they say.“while the cat’s away, the mice will play”! It was around 3PM when we walked into Phuket Thai and there was only one other couple dining. This was obviously between peak dining hours but, service was attentive, inviting and quick. We started with a glass of refreshing Thai tea or Cha-yen. Thai tea is a strong brew of Ceylon tea, other spices like star anise or crushed tamarind seeds and topped off with sweetened condensed milk. Meanwhile our green papaya salad arrived… it was crunchy, mildly spiced with chilie peppers in a fish-sauce, garlic and fresh lime juice dressing. It was spicy yet somehow refreshing. Then, the rest of our dishes came out fast, furiously and steaming hot from the kitchen. — Pad Mee Kao with chicken or Drunken noodles is my favorite because its Chinese influenced flavors and preparation of flat rice noodles. The noodles had good texture and flavor. — Seafood Panang Curry with coconut cream was rich, creamy and mildly spiced. There were several large pieces of fish filets, whole peeled shrimp, calamari strips, scallops and crab in this bowl. Wow! The flavorful curry sauce oozed, coated and was absorbed into every grain of rice on my plate. — Crispy Thai Fried Chicken were boneless, juicy hunks of white breast meat with a crackling crisp crust that shattered upon first bite yet still adhering onto the remaining piece. There was a kind of spicy sweet and sour dipping sauce served with the chicken but, it wasn’t needed. — Salt and Pepper Shrimp was today’s special. Oh boy, it was special, indeed! The shrimp were cooked perfectly tender yet there was a little«snap» when bit into. The salt and black pepper blend was balanced and didn’t overpower the delicate shrimp flavor but rather enhanced the«shrimpiness». Like with most Thai dishes that we ordered, there was a flavorful mélange of sautéed onions, kale and cilantro. The natural jus from vegetables and shrimp made a marvelous sauce that was absorbed by a scoop of sticky rice. Yikes, there were only 3 of us «mice» who gorged ourselves until we wanted to cry«Uncle»! We ate everything and had a great time while thinking about my «poor» brother-in-law having to eat hospital food and not being able or wanting to enjoy the exotic exciting flavors that we had.
