Slowly becoming one of my favorite sushi places in Honolulu. The prices are amazing, seems like almost a dollar cheaper than other similar sushi places near by. Although I don’t know the names of the three rolls I have tired from here, all have been delicious. If going around lunch they can get pretty busy. If you are grabbing one of the pre-made rolls that’s no problem, but if ordering a roll that needs to be made the wait can be quite long.

The ahi poke bowl is the greatest lunch that you, your children, and your children’s children will ever eat. Love this place.

This is the place to go for kim bap(Korean). Ordered for a potluck last week and all those who ate the kim bap, loved it. I also enjoyed the cucumber pickles. It will certainly be my first choice for kim bap!

I used to get their spam musubi all the time when I worked in the area. I have to say it is one of the best musubi’s in town and the best price $ 1! The rice to spam ratio is perfect and the sauce is not too salty and not too sweet. This is also a great place to call when you need musubi’s or kimbap for when it’s your turn to do snacks for your child’s sports team. I usually call in the morning to place my order and it’s ready when you get there. They also have breakfast bento’s for $ 2.75 if you’re not feeling the musubi. Another plus is that the owners are super nice and so thankful for your business.

Now I know where to go when I’m looking for tempura wrapped in rice and nori. Recently went here for a quick lunch and got their spicy ahi and shrimp tempura hand rolls. For $ 2 each, you can get either hand roll which comes with cucumber filling. The shrimp is a good size though the ahi is just barely enough to make it worth it though likely if you buy a hand roll elsewhere you’d pay more. They also have an assortment of other options from musubis, sushi, and bentos. A great take out option when you’re working at or near downtown and looking for a quick bite.

Breakfast Bento! The best place to buy a breakfast Bento… lots of drinks to choose from and a whole lot of things to eat for lunch too. I am glad this place opens early. I want to try the sushi platters.

It’s always a good feeling to find a fulfilling yet low costing meal of any type. The event is akin to being saturated in sprinkles of good fortune and lucky charms. Magically delicous to say the least. Ohana Bento & Sushi has yet to let me down. Slight tangent… this location at the entrance to the Blaisdell Hotel building on Fort Street Mall. If the name sounds familiar its probably because the building is the home of «Hawaii’s only elevator operator.» Although I haven’t seen him in some time it is interesting to say the least. Nonetheless, this spot is an absolute favorite for a quick, low cost, great quality lunch. The staff treat you like they know you, and even if they dont, they are exceptionally polite and kind hearted towards people. All in All great place for a downtown lunch break

Unilocal 100 Review Challenge 2015: 15⁄100 I have finally visited this eatery which had been bookmarked on my Unilocal account for who knows how long! I found this small whole-in-the-wall fairly easy thanks to fellow Unilocaler’s photos and descriptions and walked in their open store front to see the counter lined with various bentos. The place was empty so I walked up to the counter and asked the man if I had to order the«breakfast bento» or if it was premade(yes I like breakfast foods at every time of the day-including lunch) and he pointed down the line of bentos, informing me that they had two left. I snatched one up along with 1 spam musubi and my total, including tax, was just over $ 4! Service was okay. They were very casual and straight to the point about processing my transaction. I didn’t experience the«local family owned» warmth vibe I expected but they did provide me utensils, shoyu and napkins so I was please about that. The food itself was very good. The rice was probably sitting in the bento for a while since it was a bit soggy at parts but overall good, especially for the price! I recommend microwaving the bento though, as mine was room temperature. The spam musubi is just as delicious as fellow Unilocalers have claimed and only for $ 1! This is my new option for lunch while I work in downtown.

I can see why the local college kids like this. A little tricky to find by car but worth a stop for a quick cheap bite if you’re nearby. Breakfast bentos with bacon, Portuguese sausage, and egg are about $ 2. Awesome lunch bentos for only a bit more. I recommend the lunch bentos and kimchi fried rice, if they have it. Looks like they get ransacked early in the day.

Best Teri Chicken salad I had. If you’re here in town and notice a small store that has bentos, musubi and sushi, stop by and say«Hi!» Friendly owners with a sense of humor too.

Really good bentos! Always a long line during lunch, but the wait is worth it. Good musubis too!

Oh our way to HNL we stopped by Ohana to pick up food for the trip home. We had to circle around a few times before we found this place. I had to go through a little ally to find the courtyard. This is literally a hole in the wall place. There were a few bentos that were set out on the counter. I bought: Spam masubi: 4⁄5 sizable and tasty Korean sushi rolls: 4⁄5 very good and reasonably priced Bento with chicken and spam: 4⁄5 hubby said the chicken tasted really really good. Glad we found this place! Beats buying airplane food.

For those of you who don’t know, now you know. As a former HPU undergrad, grad, and staff member, I gotta say I’ve eaten my way through Fort Street Mall and this is the one lesser known good and cheap eats in downtown. It’s very small and it’s easy to miss as you pass by the other eateries on this strip of Fort Street Mall. But, if you are short on cash and want a good quick and filling bite, check out this place. The owners are super nice and the food is yummy. For $ 3 you can get a bento consisting of rice, egg, bacon, spam, and maybe some sausage links. They have different ones sitting out for you to choose from with different options available(some will have over easy eggs, some scrambled, some with bacon only, some with bacon, sausage AND spam, etc.) and all for the same low price. :) The owners are super nice too and everytime i go in there and i survey the bentos, they always ask me if there’s something i want or if i want a fresh one they can whip one up for me. Suppper cool. Their musubis are also my favorite in downtown. The spam is always soaked in a sweet teri sauce, and the price is just $ 1. No tax. Just $ 1. AWESOME. This place is definitely good for a quick and cheap bite. And it’s always nice to keep nice people in business :)

I don’t think I would ever try anything in downtown if my coworker/friend didn’t go there. My friend wanted to eat a bento here before he goes to class. I wasn’t hungry, but I was dying to get a bubble drink. I haven’t had one for sooo long. So I went up and ordered a milk tea, and they say they’re out. I ordered honey dew, and they’re out. So I got a coconut. I’m not a coconut person, but it turned out pretty good. Loved it! I gotta come back to try the other drinks. It was $ 3 no tax. Need to come to downtown more often! They don’t allow using a debit/credit card under $ 5. But I didn’t have any cash. The owner was nice to let me use it.

I’m usually always hungry when I get to school. First place to go before going the the student lounge? The Yellow Room! Ohana Bento & Sushi to be on point. Can’t miss it, their room is bright yellow. Its family owned, so the husband usually takes the orders and is in charge of the cooking, while his wife is in charge of making the sushi. Love Love Looooooooove their sushi! Located in Fort Street mall, smack dab in between of Hawaii Pacific University!(: Great sushi, for reasonable prices. $ 1 spam musubis, and it aint manini like 7 – 11! I believe I have tried every little thing there and they have not failed me. EVER. Its a must try
