Best place ever to get fresh island fish, meats, and veggies! Once you can get past the smell of the place(because of the fish and meats are cut and cleaned there), you are golden! Love it how there are Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai, Japanese, Korean vendors at this place. You can find anything here. My top two favorite places: #1 is Troy’s Fish Market. Located in the back of the main area. This place has the best and freshest fish of all the stalls. Great variety and reasonable prices. #2 is Chun’s Meat Market. You can get roast pork roast duck, crispy pork, intestines, fresh island pork and beef(with ALL parts). Open early(5:30?) and great selection of items!

Great place to shop for your fruits and veggies, Might not be grade A merchandise but when you cut it up it all looks the same. Check it good for bruises and bug bits, bananas and papayas are a bargain here. Awesome place to get your char siu and roast pork.

I know this is the spot for Oahu Market, but I’m actually talking about Kekaulike Market right across the street. My spot for all my produce shopping! Inside Kekaulike there are 7 or 8 produce little produce marts. You really can’t beat the prices! Dollar bunches of asparagus, peppers for $ 1.20/lb, so many deals! …Just make sure to wash it all good before using!

If I were a photographer, I’d be in photography Heaven here at Oahu Market! Hawaii’s diverse cultures and people are all represented here. The colors, the faces, the food and vegetables, so vibrant! This place hasn’t changed much over the years, thank goodness, you can get just about anything you want. From specialty items for preparing grandma’s secret recipe to super fresh no.1 grade ahi to roast pork or duck, you name it. There are fruits and vegetables galore and some that you won’t find in too many supermarkets. I especially like to compare prices of fish and be «courted» by the competing vendors for your business. You will usually end up getting close to your price most of the time. I will never get tired of coming here, it brings back memories of a much simpler time, long ago. To imagine the people who once passed through this dynamic place a long time ago creates a sense of nostalgia and mystique as you make your way through the maze of this marketplace and makes it difficult to realize it’s actually 2011…

Roast Duck!!! Best around!!! Cheaper and fatter than the ones in the restaurants!!! Veggies are abundant, but the quality is not as good as Times on Beretania. Beretania is the only Times that the produce is pretty good. Don’t go to the Liliha Times… Produce looks like Chinatown quality.

Actually across the street from O’ahu Market is Kekaulike Mall. The greatest bargain area known to home cooks since da barefoot days. EVERYTHING is farm grown. That means dirt on the cucumbers and sometimes worm holes in the kabochas so scan carefully. Prices are literally half of anywhere else in Honolulu. Crowds, noise, grumbling buses, aromas, all part of the Chinatown experience! Take a cart with wheels or you’re not with the elder, «in» crowd.“ Get tea flavored pumpkin seeds, plastic ware, noodles, spices, jasmine rice, red beans, fu juk, slippas, brooms, and the best danged anise flavored sunflower seeds you will ever hope to eat. They are as fat and long as my, «Miss Chinatown» fingernail. And they come vacuum foil sealed. Yes, OK, we all saw the Chinatown rat videos on you tube. So I always get the cold produce, meaning, it was probably refrigerated last night and not out in a feel-thee basket with vermin dancing on them. Even so, what’s a little rat pp among friends?

I can understand that this place sells fresh fish, meat, and vegetables. Prices are lower than regular markets and the product you get is probably fresher. What’s cool is that you can haggle with the sellers as well. It’s like a food swap meet. I’m giving it a one star because of the health issues involved. There were many flies around touching the seafood, meat, and vegetables. Who knows where those flies came from and where they landed. The sellers are used to them and just ignores them. Eek! At night this location accommodates a lot of homeless people. They crap and pee anywhere and that attracts flies. So the next morning, sellers post up their shop and showcase their products. Flies swarm in. Possibly the same flies that decided to land on urine and waste.

This review is for«88 Fresh Fish Market»(stall #23). I always buy fresh fish from these guys, usually Moi. The have a great selection of fish at decent prices, and they’ll clean it for you. Compared to the other fish vendors in Oahu Market, and in Maunakea Market, I prefer these guys — it seems they have better selections of fish. Get here early to get the best picks — close early — around 1pm on Sundays — maybe couple hours later on weekdays. Located on Kekaulike Street side of Oahu Market.

A wonderful ‘wet market’ where fresh produce, meats and much more are on sale daily. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this market starts business at 6am and shuts down at 3pm, so make sure you go early! Hawaiians are up at the crack of dawn and doing their daily business/chores very early — possibly due to the heat as the day progresses. If you like poki, the fish stall at the O’ahu Market has some really delicious poki which they will allow you to sample before you buy!
