What an absolute feast for your soul! The dinning room is amazingly beautiful. We felt like royalty just sitting there. Then the food came out and I was floored! The chef brought a table side tum yum soup that was poured out of a beaker. It was such a beautiful display. Then when we tasted it, the broth was so warm and delicious. All the authentic flavors of Thailand. The pork Larb was spicey and tart at the same time. This dish was also beautifuly showcased. The duck curry possibly the best we ever have had. The duck was cooked perfectly. Our server Allisn was so kind and accommodating. She introduced us to the GMYING who gave a us a tour of the private rooms. What??? Those private dinning rooms are like a dream. So gorgeous and decadent with gold leaves and overlooking Waikiki. We so want to reserve one of those rooms for a special occasion. Too bad my birthday passed because I would have felt like a queen if I dinned there! We are thrilled that they are also open for lunch. I am counting down the hours till we can go back.

My friends and I came here for our Annual Christmas Luncheon — and all I can say is, «WOW.» This place is amazing — from the moment you walk in, the décor is just breathtaking. The layout of the restaurant itself is just beautiful. We sat on a round table with a party of six. The courtest napkins were black and folded beautifully, holding it’s shape with a gold clasp. The décor was just so enchanting for us that I may be afraid my description does not do Noi Thai justice. However, I might add that the food was just as equally amazing. I would say, if you don’t mind spending a few extra bucks, this place is a definite A+ for a romantic, exotic date night. The servers were very friendly and the ambience was just so soothing.

BESTBIRTHDAYEVER! From making reservations to leaving this establishment, the service is over the top. Soo friendly that you can tell they love their jobs and people. Ray is an awesome server; he really made me and my bf feel at home. They were also generous in providing a complimentary appetizer and dessert. The ambiance in here is breathtaking. Lots of water features and the décor is beautiful with thai influences. I wish I could’ve taken more pictures but I didn’t want to look crazy ;) They have a bar in the front also. The food and drink menu is sort of limited but it’s enough for you to really appreciate the flavors. Try the Appetizer Plate and the Angry Ocean. Delicious. Every thing looks like a piece of art and they really take the time to put in those fine details. What’s also nice is that they have a few entrees that are gluten free. I highly recommend this place if you love thai food, not a lot of people do. Great for celebrations, special occasions, or just to dine in and wanting to splurge. I will definitely be back.

Elegant setting with good food and service. It’s pricy for dinner, lunch is more affordable. Food tend to be on sweet and salty side. The jasmine rice melts in your mouth. Will return and try more dishes!

First time at Noi Thai Cuisine… Amazing! Loved the ambience and service. Our server, Sabrina was fantastic. Made sure we were well taken care of. Food was delicious and unique. Recommend the Satay… beef or lamb as a starter. Enjoyed the crab fried rice and prawns pad thai. Will definitely go back again and try more dishes.

Highway robbery! Disjointed flavors! Limited menu! Food court quality for fancy dinner prices! Do not go here! Our last night in Hawaii, we decided to mix it up and try Thai cuisine. Reviewing the deceptive Unilocal reviews, we thought we were in for a good meal. Then we got salty food no better quality or taste then panda express. My cashew chicken(typically a Chinese meal) was pre made probably days ago and served inside a pineapple rind but with no pineapple inside! I think I counted three cashews. And it tasted exactly like my date’s garlic chicken which he hardly touched. Nothing mixed the flavors together, and the dishes hardly harmonized. In addition, although I asked for mild they brought mine out smoking hot. So as to mask the junk they served me on this plate. Noi Thai, feel free to refund me the $ 70 I spent on mall food that belongs in a dumpster. On a side note, the napkin holders are lovely!

My husband took me on a date night last night. The restaurant was beautiful with the gold accents. Our waiter told us that the theme of the restaurant is a Royal Thai Palace. There was even a small pool in the middle of the dining room with candle floats. We started off with the appetizer plate that has three different appetizers it was very interesting. Then we had the Tom Yum lobster which was prepared tableside. For our entrées we had that Angry Ocean which came out with a fig. Then we had the green curry with the Wagu Beef. The beef was so tender and the curry tastes amazing. Every dish which was prepared with so many details and beautiful garnishes. I had the best Thai food at Noi. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This is my third time, and it never disappoints! I love the presentation, the service and the reasonable prices(for being fancy in waikiki). Each dish is prepared wonderfully and it is a true experience to consume. I love the Angry Ocean(comes on dry ice) and the Tom Lum Lobster Soup. The Royal Hawaiian Dream also has a cool presentation. Order these 3 if you want to impress your date or family! I’ve recommended Noi’s to plenty of friends and they all enjoy it too. The décor is very pleasant and upscale. I also love how they things a little differently so you notice the little things but in a good way. It truly makes them unique(from the throne chairs in the back, the curvature of the wine glasses, and the volcanic slab looking serving plates). Please come here and show your patronage.

Confession: I know the PR pro for Noi Thai Cuisine, so when she invited a couple of us to try out her latest restaurant client, I immediately said yes because I am always hungry and I couldn’t wait another month to get together with my friends who are smart, gorgeous and hilarious! My take on the place: Ambience: Noi Thai is patterned after a Thai Royal Palace yet has a cool, modern sleekness all its own. The sophistication of black, the elegance of gold touches, and the alluring glow of candlelight made me wished I’d taken the time to dress better. Fortunately, casual attire is a-ok. Menu: As a I sank down into the cushioned seating, I picked up the carved wooden menu and marveled at its beauty and the silken texture and sheen of the menu paper with its elegant scroll script describing every item. Lots of quintessential Thai dishes, not too many vegetarian. Fortunately, we were able to ask for quite a few things to be made without shellfish for my non-seafood eating friend and veggie-friendly for me(thanks Shay F. for the tip!). Food presentation: They say you eat with your eyes first, and with each dish that was brought out, little gasps of surprise were heard at our table and those around us. From the delightful cock-a-doodle doo eggs served in an egg carton to the beautiful rose-carved carrots and floral shaped cucumbers surrounding an elegant ice bowl(made by freezing water balloons), each presented item showed meticulous care and attention to detail. Even the pork-rice-egg bowl dish wrapped in banana leaves was like a gift waiting to be unwrapped and devoured. Taste: One bite into the Crispy Garlic Chicken and I heard angel voices singing. The crunch, the Thai flavors and the juiciness of the chicken hit every part of my taste buds. Not too garlicky, either. The sauce gave each morsel a glossy shine, and the flavors were balanced nicely with a small bowl of jasmine rice. The chicken larb was served chilled with cabbage hearts as the wrap and sticky rice as the accompaniment. My only distress — being the greedy oinker that I am – was that the cabbage strips were too skinny to put more than a dollop of the larb so it made for messy eating when I overstuffed the wrap. I’d be okay with lettuce leaves for a softer, more pliable wrap and because I could stuff in more larb. Just sayin’ … Pad Thai with tofu was a familiar comfort food, but I was more impressed with the appetizer spoonful of bean threads, chicken and chili spice. Unique. I could’ve used a pair of tongs here to grab the Pad Thai noodles, as using a gold spoon on a flat stone dish often meant I only scooped a tofu square. Tasting the rice part of the pork-rice-egg dish, a Thai bi bim bap if you will, the explosion of flavors in the sauce was yummy! Needless to say, it was pretty quiet for a while as we stopped talking to eat, and the only sounds were the moans of pleasure after each bite and our embarrassed laughter. Service: Impeccable. The restaurant owners were warm, gracious, hospitable and reminiscent of the gentle smiling Thai people I met when in Thailand more than 20 years ago. Given how long we took to decide on what to eat, their patience also is to be commended. Cleanliness: Spanking clean! Noticed even the bathroom had gold fixtures … for the faucet, just note to pull the lever out and away to turn on the water. Price: Comparable to a fine dining establishment, entrees were mid to high 20s. On the other hand, this is also great for family style dining so share the food, calories and cost with your dining companions. Parking: Validated parking at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. We dined/talked for about 4 hours, spending $ 12 for parking with validation. Gulp. Next time, carpool or Über! Extra: There are separate rooms for private dining with seating for a party of 6 – 10. A «special» dining option for 4 – 6 people is available only if you say a magic name, so I was told, and are willing to spend some serious ka-ching. Oh, and the iced Thai coffee has a buzz that will keep you up for 2 days. I don’t usually drink coffee, but if it always tasted like this I might become addicted. Bottom line: Thai-style entertaining fine dining. If you’re suffering from restaurant ennui, then this might be the spicy kick you need to get you out of the doldrums. As Fran C. would say, check ‘em out!

Noi thai restaurant unsatisfying, prententious, and overpriced. I have never walked out of a Thai restaurant hungry and unhappy, but my dinner at Noi last night was the first. We ordered the papaya salad platter and shrimp padthai. Our bill was $ 68, not the most I spent on Thai food but I had to go to Mcdonalds after. So Sad. The padthai was swimming in sauce. Noodles overcooked. You will get better Padthai at thai express for $ 7. The papaya salad platter consist of 3 tablespoons of papaya, 4 cherry tomatoes, 3 dried shrimps, lime and fish sauce. It also came with underseasoned steak, 1 small ball of sticky rice, and a tablespoon of overcooked vermicelli noodles. Needless to say, it the worst Thai food Ive ever had. My mother-in-law is Thai, this is nowhere close to the food my Mom makes. 2 thumbs down!

Saw Noi featured on Hawaii morning news n had to go try. The decorations are so intricate! Definitely not ur usual Thai restaurant. The prices are a bit higher than the norm, but matches the quality. I had the lamb satay, which was fantastic, but the most unique appetizer was Cock-ka-doodle– do! Crisp chicken in red-curry sauce topped with fish roe served in egg shell! I ordered Yellow Crab Curry, which comes with brown rice wrapped in banana leaves. Loved it so much I almost licked the bowl. But my #1, is their signature Smoky Old Fashion! Never had it like this. Had to have at least 2! Great service! Will be back before leaving the island.

Prior to dining at Noi Thai my Thai dining experiences have typically been either hole in the wall dining establishments or more casual ones. When a girlfriend dined here shortly after opening and raved about everything from the décor to the tableside Tom Yum Soup presentation my interest was piqued to say the least. I had the pleasure of dining here with a group in early November. My girlfriend was able to reserve our party a private dining room which was nothing short of breathtaking. Everything from the table settings to the light fixtures show an attention to detail down to the ability to adjust the lighting to our personal preferences. The menu although somewhat limited compared to your run of the mill Thai restaurants offered a good selection of appetizers, salads, curries, noodle dishes, etc. to choose from. Our server reviewed the menu with our party and made suggestions as most of us were new to the restaurant. Following his suggestion, the majority of our table ordered the Yellow Crab Curry. My girlfriend ordered the Lobster Tom Yum Soup which is prepared table side(to be explained later), in addition our group ordered the Garlic Chicken, Prawn Pad Thai and Shrimp Fried Rice. I also ordered the Lamb Satay as suggested by our server since it sounded outstanding. The Lobster Tom Yum prepared table side is worth ordering if only for the showmanship of the dish. They roll in a cart and do what can only be described as what looks like a science experiment with beakers, etc. heating the soup and melding the flavors before pouring the soup into the bowl containing the succulent lobster tail and other ingredients. Although I didn’t try the soup, my friend raved about it and I trust her taste. There were four of us who ordered the Yellow Crab Curry, and it was a fan favorite of the night. Unlike other places who use the word«crab» in a dish but don’t actually use a lot of crab in the meal, this dish contained crab in every bite. The crab was sweet and tender and the yellow curry provided the perfect balance of spice to truly excite the taste buds. The dish is beautifully plated with a small amount of rice wrapped in what seemed to be a banana leaf. I could eat this dish multiple times a week and not get sick of it that’s how good it was. The Garlic Chicken, Prawn Pad Thai and Fried Rice were all beautifully plated and huge portions. Hardly anyone talked while eating which is indicative of how good our meals were. In fact my only complaint if any would be regarding my Lamb Satay which contained three small pieces of lamb which was not conducive to sharing and seemed like a waste of money in comparison to portion size and taste when looking at other items that we had tried that night. Another nice touch Noi Thai offers is a complimentary amuse bouche at the beginning of the meal which based on photos I’ve seen appears to change regularly. The night we dined we had what can only be described as the Thai Scottish Egg. All in all this meal was thoroughly enjoyable and the restaurant is incredibly beautiful. They have several different seating areas and there’s a huge focus on service and a diner’s experience in addition to the food. This will definitely not be my «go to» Thai place, but it will definitely be a good once in a while special occasion or I want to treat myself place especially if they keep that crab on the menu.

My husband and I went in for dinner on a Monday night. Here are few things that I think are worth mentioning. 1. Environment: the environment of this restaurant is very elegant, and sublime. It is probably one of the most fancy decorations I ever see in restaurants of Hawaii. Perfect place to bring guests, or host a party because they also have private rooms. Full bar too. 2. FOOD: While the environment is a five star, I even can give them six star for the environment, but the food was just TOOSWEET. I’m a big fan of Thai food, so I’ve tried many Thai restaurants on the island but I never had Thai food this sweet. It is also over flavored, meaning it destroys the ingredients’ actual flavor. For starter we had the appetizer plate and lobster tom yum. The chef herself came out to serve the soup, which was cool. For the entrée we had shrimp with glass noodles, then we had yellow curry, and pad Thai. Overall, they are not bad except the fact that they are too sweet. But they are not as great as they advertise to be;(award winning chefs from Thailand and etc). I had better Thai food in streets of Thailand and even on this island. So I’m not sure if this food is worth the money. 3. Service: I know I gave 4star while knowing the food wasn’t so great; that is because they had service that was better than the environment. Although the front door and some of the other staffs weren’t so professional, Our server Shane was very knowledgable and patient. Also, the manager, Sky came by noticing the plate was still full after a while and asked if everything was okay. We told Sky the issues with food, and the he was very willing to listen and asked if he can offer something else, but we said we didn’t need anything, but he brought us a mango sorbet which wasn’t that«sweet» to comfort us. I really admire this kind of service attitude. He stepped forward to ask us before we reached out to him to complain. Overall I give a four star: While the taste is the most important factor of a restaurant, the environment and service often are what we need. I would definitely bring some of my important clients here when I need a quite and formal lunch or dinner. Just ask To make it less sweet. ;)

I Absolutely loved this place. Not everyone in the party was happy with their food/drinks but my food was great, service was amazing and the ambiance was 5 star for sure. The GM came out and even gave us a tour of the space. Every detail was definitely thought out. I had their garlic chicken with Jasmin rice during Happy Hour. It was good. I will definitely be back. Thanks Ying!

My my my, this is a surprise! I actually didn’t know what to expect from Hawaii’s first fine dining Thai restaurant. To me Thai food usually equals quick, cheap food. Boy, do I have a new perspective. As soon as I got seated, I felt I was in some royal Thai restaurant. Then the food came. I got the shrimp/taro spring rolls, crab fried rice, and the crab curry. All of which were REALLY good. The flavors were perfect too — not too strong, not too bland. The presentation on each plate brought out the best in each dish. We were about to leave when the manager? or someone like that came to our table and asked about our meal. I told her I loved it, but would’ve loved to see more vegetarian friendly options. She’s said they actually DO have but it’s a separate menu that’s NOT on the menu. Ugh! I wish they would’ve told me that when I first sat down. Thankfully, I was still able to find food I can eat and really enjoyed it. Now I have to go back to try their veggie friendly items… soon.

Overall rating = 3.5 stars. {Ambiance = 4.0 Food = 3.5 Service = 4.0} First & foremost, I was very impressed by Noi’s elegant and swanky décor. For the amount of money they must have spent on the interiors, they definitely got the desired effect: an ambiance of modern beauty and serenity. It almost feel like it’s too fancy to eat here but rather a contemplative place designed for introspetions or meditations. I felt nervous for fear of dropping something on the floor or at least I should whisper and tip toe around such a quiet place. On our recent Happy Hour excursion to Noi on a Tuesday night with a party of 10 Yeeps & non-Yeeps, I was able to experience the restaurant’s beautiful cuisine and regal décor inspired by Thailand’s royal family. Upscale Noi presents some of the most beautiful food art manifest in many forms. For instance, they carved radishes into decorative shapes resembling traditional Thai architectural conical points, banana-leaf rice triangles and creative eye-catching vegetable rosettes. After being properly situated/seated at the outer palace(lanai), we’re given a choice to take a tour with the manager on duty while waiting for our waiter. The layout, per tour guide, of the restaurant is structured in same configuration as the royal palace: outer(the lanai seating area) palace, wall(cool bar located centrally) and inner palace. Both sides of the palace have 2 separate rooms for private parties. Some of us ended up taking a tour before and after ordering. Our waiter came and quickly tried to take our orders but he had to field some menu queries. For complimentary appetizers, Noi brought us a lettuce leaf containing some absolutely delicious fillings(can’t tell what the ingredients were). It did take sometime for the first dish to arrive but we were«chillaxin». Since it was HH, it wasn’t too crowded and in many ways, the place was kind of serene. A few patrons were quietly enjoying themselves at the gorgeous bar. With all the high marks seen on some reviews, I was excited to taste Noi’s cusine. My coconut soup came in a gold-trim rice-sized bowl with a side swoosh of coconut cream served on a heavy black stone plate. It’s a good wrist workout carrying that HEAVY stone plate. A miniature spoon made my soup last longer so I just kept enjoying the soup contents containg chicken strips, baby mushrooms, ginger and fragrant lemongrass. However, I’ve to say they sure know how to slice the lemongrass so fine because I ended up eating the fragrant herb without realizing it. Coconut soup was tasty but a tad too sweet but no big deal. On the other hand, my crispy taro roll was not quite what I expected. Four skinny rolls reminds me of Virginia Slim cigarettes because they were so slender. Tasty they were but more noticeable shrimp pieces. I expected more taro; perhaps it was blended too well I couldn’t tell. Crispy was the descriptive word but it wasn’t and I can’t stand the accompanying orange dipping sauce(store bought bottled sauce). Another not-the-greatest item was their fresh(another name for spring) roll. Tasted fresh, unsual and somewhat different. However, the crispy garlic chicken was delicious; our locals would go «chicken crazy» for this dish since it’s similar to karaage chicken. Red curry chicken was decent good but I thought it was too rich from having too much coconut cream or milk. Rice triangles served room temperature. What did impress me was the dessert gluay buad chi! I love cooked banana in coconut milk. It was absolutely delicious and I dig the fact they serve it hot just the way(and should be) I like it. Many Thai and Vietnamese restaurants serve it cold or room temperature. Not the best way to eat it when it’s not hot. My tablemates love this dessert too by the sounds of their oohs and aahs. Noi is no doubt an upscale, fancy restaurant with fancy prices. I don’t mind paying fancy prices if fancy prices correlates to exceptional«knock my socks off» great food so to speak. Noi impressed me with their presentation of food art, imformative and friendly staff(they tried super hard to give good service). At this juncture and based on some of the menu items I tried so far, I’d say it’s currently not my first choice for Thai food. I find the food not as authentic as advertised, some dishes still taste«American-washed» or somewhat similar to Laotian cuisine. I’d like to be wowed when I return the next time in order to try tom yum lobster or prawn pad thai noodles. When I’m in the mood to eat«pretty» food, small portions and definitely my favorite banana dessert, I’ll dine at Noi to enjoy the beauty of food art or artful décor. Overall, «pretty» food, dainty portions and top-end prices all just might work out in a low-foot traffic area at the end corner of the upper level located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Or it might be an uphill battle for them but I am crossing my fingers because just maybe, maybe the tourists aren’t too mindful.

I went to Noi the other night expecting your typical Thai food at Waikiki prices. Boy was I wrong. This is Thai food like you’ve never had it before. Yes it’s a bit pricier than your normal local Thai eatery but you’ll experience authentic Thai cuisine from chefs who come directly from 5-star restaurants in Thailand as the manager explained to me. The immense drink menu is worth tasting for things you won’t get anywhere else. And if you’re afraid of Waikiki high prices, they have a happy hour menu currently running from 3pm-till closing. Yes that’s closing. Everything on the happy hour menu I saw was under $ 10 so you’re still able to take a taste. The dishes were well presented and exquisite. The taste was clean, fresh and full of depth. I personally love that Lobster Tom Yum. Hands down the best tom yum I’ve ever had outside of Thailand. The curries also had an addictive taste to it. I’d recommend those as well. If you want to try Thai cuisines that’s authentic and not overly greasy or overcooked, be sure to try Noi.
