One of the best military exchanges I have been to in my 16 years of service. Definitely the best exhange on the island. Parking lot is usually packed, but the services are great and everything is very clean. Commissary is next door with easy access. Great all around.

Yesterday was a scratcher day :) I was able to get 15% off all my items. Not to mention an awesome workout tank: deadpool! I also found a great deal on my Murad skincare, higher end hair products, and Victoria Secret undies – yes I am a bit high maintenance – when and if there is a sale. I later enjoyed a fresh salad up at the Lanai alone until some Puerto Rican guy tried to hit on me and ruined my solitude – I was nice in refusing to give my number, O. k, I wasn’t nice, in my head I may have been. Overall, I enjoyed my small shopping trip. I may start coming here more often to hide at the Lanai.

If you are fortunate enough to go to the exchange, you will learn to love it. It is the biggest one I’ve been to so far. I have visited two while I was training in Texas, and their«main exchange» doesn’t even compare to the one we have here at Pearl Harbor. The exchange is two stories and it connects to the commisary and food court(which is open to the public) On the bottom level you have male and female attire, shoes, hadbags, and a variety of upscale makeup brands. There is a jewelry section. Watches are sold in a separate location next to the escalators. Top level is kids attire and more of your household goods. Electronics, fishing gear, and exercise equipment also fill up the top floor. «The big white tent» is where you will find children’s toys and board games. After you work up your appetite from all that shopping, you can head over to their food court. The food court seems to be the same at most of the exchanges. You have your Charlie’s and Subway, as well as Popeye’s. They have a variety of different foods to choose from that will satisfy any appetite. I will continue to come here as much as I can. Just like a typical walmart run, you can come here for one thing but leave with 10 – 15 additional things!

Actually this was a very positive shopping experience today. It started out with a HP computer vendor, forgot his name, who was a senior gentleman who gave me great service by bring my attention to a laptop that had the same specs I was looking at which was more expensive. He told me that by signing up for the Military Star card I would get an additional 15% off plus a $ 25 gc. Today was the last day for the scratch card as well. Let me tell you I was not really looking to buy a laptop but was looking for our daughter who we were going to buy one for in the future. I guess that day was today as I was only killing time. The associate taking the Military Star applications was very nice as well. She told is the $ 25 gc can be used for the lap top. What I am trying to say is that NEX is not really known for good customer service but I am hopeful this continues. You can work to get a pay check or you can also go above. I want to let you know two people did today!

This place isn’t exactly a target or Walmart but it’s close enough. As you know you can sponsor friends and family so long as they bring proper ID. I do some of my shopping here even though there’s a Walmart that’s literally 5 minutes away living in town. I come here because yes it’s tax free and yes I like to support our NEX(or BX or the commissary/DECA) companies. With that said it’s not necessarily cheaper but whenever they have the scratch card promotions you can get additional discounts here. For example, sometimes Sephora has sales but brand name makeup and skin care some items just can’t be beat in prices(we’re talking Oahu side now, never mind the mainland price, because we all know it’s pretty expensive here anyway you try to reason with yourself). Most of the time whenever there are promotions with additional giveaways like some makeup that comes with free mascara or kits(Clinique, Este Lauder etc… which you can still get at the malls since all promotions are across the board. but here you get«tax-free»). Upstairs there is the electronics dept which is another way to blow your money when the hubby is feeling happy and wants new toys(like those hard to resist HDTV, talk about massive!), to make comparisons TV’s are best bought at Costco(hands-down!) with their unbeatable prices, if you see it at Costco just buy it and don’t think about it! Laptops and MACs here are cheaper with magic word«tax-free»! Overall I like it here because of easy to find parking, there’s a small food court(not so good of an option unless you enjoy greasy fast food stuffs), there is a sushi place & even a gyros, prices are so-so but of course I prefer the Ala Moana food court(who doesn’t?!) if you gonna buy sushi you might as well buy the affordable ones in the commissary, they make it fresh there. Anyway to sum this up you can get things from makeup, sundries, shoes, clothing & even a liquor store inside. oh and of course a floral shop to buy your honey a last minute gift for forgetting her bday, or anniversary or for just being bad

Definitely the best NEX I’ve had the pleasure of shopping at. It is not only clean and well-kept all around, but there is also a vast variety of product while still remaining well organized. The prices are 9 times outta 10 unbeaten in comparison to all other stores I’ve shopped at around the island; what’s more, BECAUSE it requires a military ID in order to enter(or to be a guest of person present & in possession of a MID), there is FAR less congestion and traffic. Considering we happen to live in a more«tourist — packed» area, about 20 minutes away from base, this is such a great thing for myself, personally. In terms of store layout, ground level contains all your clothing and footwear needs, as well as fragrances/colognes and ladies higher-end cosmetics(I.e. Bobby Brown, Clinique, Keihls, etc); the bathrooms are also located in the ground level. Upstairs, there’s everything from pet food, office supplies/electronics, housing/bathroom goods, and more personal care items for both men and women; the common cosmetics(I.e. CoverGirl, Revlon, Almay, L’Oreal, etc) are also located on level 2z Lastly, they almost always have sales going on in one section of the store or the other, just an added bonus to an already great place to shop! ;)

Do you have a military ID? Then COMEONDOWN! Some of the greatest prices on island, and tons of things to choose from. Think of it as a Target meets Walmart. You have two floors of choices. Down stairs contains all of your clothing and make up. Then venture upstairs and you have a mix of everything. Sporting equipment, more beauty products /soap, kitchen stuff, electronics, and much much more. The staff are nice and help you if you need it. They also have check outs up and down stairs. Over all a great place to get some great deals, and hay if its Sunday you can always get a haircut before Monday.

We got the chance to go to the NEX while in Hawaii. It’s a nice, clean and organized store with everything you would need. It’s tax free, so we bought a good amount of souvenirs.

I consider myself blessed to be able to come here. I do my best to conform to the rules… Federal Firefighters just walked in. Uh oh! Nice, clean store with lots to look at. Restrooms inside the store are located on the ground floor near the shoes. Restrooms outside the store are located outside the food court(open to the public), right before McDonalds. Lots of parking, but mind the few stalls at the top of each row on either side, as they are deemed for officers. So if they are vacatn, there must be a reason. The stalls are marked at the top. Prices here are cheaper than retail, and their sales can be petty good.(Add’l 40% off red tag items ending in .96 or .97) Brand name goods. Hydro Flask display always has a crowd around it. GNC is located inside, upstairs.

Let me tell you, it’s the biggest nex I’ve been to! Really clean and lots to look at and shop for! Tons of souvenirs to shop for! I came for the candy goodies and did some clothes shopping for myself and my son! Also had to get myself a pair of reefs! Everything was 20% off that weekend I was there! Anyways, it was such a great experience! They have a beauty shop, things remembered shop, food court, shaved ice, commissary, and the bank! Lots of parking and the bathrooms were really clean!

100% Military ID check point! No ID needed for food court inside and out though. Huge selection compared to the other military stores/commissary! Very organized and usually always fully stocked on items. It has a lot to offer! Commissary wise this place beats all other military installations on island. Glad they have a nursery in the clothing section on the first floor but a little disappointed with the appearance. One reason I removed one star is the nursing room. Gosh that place is scary! Especially that sofa.

The NEX is awesome it has everything you need under one roof. I live at Schofield Barracks and the PX there does not even come close to this exchange. Only thing about the NEX the food court is not that great it has it’s basic restaurants like any other exchange in the Military. Parking here is great except of Black Friday.

Wow, they even had someone guiding people on and off the elevators, guards every doorway & every other isle, from the chaos.

6.24.13. My bestie & I came here since it was SO hot today… Snow in Four Seasons is located outside of the NEX in one of the kiosk/tents. I think we both regretted it later. While it’s reasonably cheap($ 3, $ 0.50 each for extras like mochi balls, condensed milk, ice cream…), the quality was bad! If you’re looking for powdery shave ice, this isn’t it. The syrup flavors were also a little weird… the Green Tea tasted like(jasmine) flowers, the Li Hing Mui was too sweet & the Lychee(wasn’t so bad, prob my fav of the bunch), but it def tasted like a Hello Kitty shot… I also went with ice cream since they had run out of mochi balls… this also didn’t sit well with my stomach. I don’t think I’ll be coming Snow in Four Seasons again unless I am desperate. Unilocal 365 Challenge: #174/365
