Just ok, not the greatest for the price. I’d rather go somewhere else. The Japanese girl is super sweet and thorough but I hate when you have to pay extra for massage and exfoliation. I think the owner might have been doing my mani, not very good work, before I could ask for a third coat which would’ve made my lighter color perfect she rushed out of the shop. If you go, try to get the nice Japanese girl.

It’s a bit pricey and I was put off by the fact that they don’t offer personal file/​scrubber lots to purchase for buck or whatever upon getting Mani or pedi; therefore, I suggest going to a beauty store and purchasing your own tools for them to use, unless you’re okay with sharing tools that are used on everyone else (gross.) Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and they do a good job; don’t be put off by the outside location /​area.

I had a real treat today as a walk-​in for a haircut and pedicure. I was very lucky Saiyudi made time for me. I love my haircut. She was careful and asked questions along the way to make sure she was doing what I was looking for. Then the pedicure… awesome, relaxing, and quality job. The salon is clean, cute, and inviting. Saiyudi and staff are kind and accomodating. I had a great morning. Word of advice, make an appointment because they stay busy and you will want to make sure you have a time slot… my luck as a walk in is probably not the norm.

While hole in the wall eats is an adventure I love to partake in, hole in the wall hair cuts are scary as heck. One look at Nalu Salon’s location and you might just turn around, which I almost nearly did. But the reassurances of a friend made me give it a go.
Despite its outward appearance, inside are the nicest Japanese beauty stylists you can find. They have a very neat and inciting set up which makes you feel comfortable with the surroundings.
My stylist was actually the best part of the salon. She had the difficult person that doesn’t really know what he wants but expects the stylists to turn the pauper into a prince. She took what little I knew I wanted and really did a great job with my cut. She did it with a smile and talked story as well. The shampoo felt amazing as my scalp felt revitalized. A little massage before the finishing touches were made and she had one very satisfied customer.
So if you’d like a great haircut I would definitely recommend this place. Despite its look, it’s definitely worth trying. You won’t be disappointed.

This is an AWESOME salon, located across the street from the Ala Moana Hotel. I’ve been here several times already and each time I have been a very happy customer! YUKI does an EXCELLENT job on my nails. She is also artistic and is able to draw things on my nails freehand! She also does great pedicures as well. Their prices are affordable and worth trying out!

My yoga teacher was sporting a new do and it was super cute so I asked where she had it done. She recommended Nalu saying she loved the shampoo and head massage. My cut was fabulous and am very happy with the results. Location and parking are very convenient.

Very cozy, clean and comfortable place. Reasonable price for both nails and hair cut. The hair stylist Sayuri is super nice and I am very happy about the outcome. Highly recommended

Was going next door to western union and since they were quite busy there I decided to go to Nalu Salon to get my eyebrows done. I have never been here before but I always had this great vibe to try this place out. I only had time to do my brows and totally thankful I did.
I will be honest and say that I dont really take time to even upkeep my brows myself so I really needed them reshaped and everything. The sweet lady who helped me asked what shape i would like and I didnt have an answer so I just kindly asked to shape them for me. I must say I am so happy with how it turned out!!! Never had I had anyone EVER wax my eyebrows so perfectly and to the shape i actually wanted. Yay!
I will be a frequent customer and hopefully on my next time off from work or the kids I will do my nails and/​or hair ups!!!

Went to get a last minute manicure for a photo-​shoot I was doing. Walked in a 10 am when they opened and asked the nice Japanese lady whom I’m assuming is the owner if I can do a walk in and even though it was all booked she was nice enough to squeeze me in. Some salon owners are snobby and will find any reason to not mess up their schedule but this owner was such a sweetheart.
I’ve had my nails done about a week and a half ago and they’re still shiny and new. It also took only a good 20 minutes.
The salon is so nice and clean, looks brand new!
Nalu Salon is located on Atkinson which is the road the Convention center is on, pass Kahakai Dr and is in the little center next to Lucky 7 liquor store.
